Abstract: To correct an unbalance of rotors, a method and a device are proposed by means of which a corrective weight (15) is adapted to be welded to a rotor (2) by means of an electric welding device (14). The device comprises a robot (20) with a jointed arm (21) mounting the electric welding device (14). Arranged within reach of the jointed arm (21) is an unbalance measuring station (1) for measuring the amount of unbalance of the rotor (2) with an electronic computer which computes a corrective weight (15) to be attached to the rotor (2) for unbalance correction and transmits control data to a control device (23) of the robot (20). Abstract: Thin film batteries (TFB) are fabricated by a process which eliminates and/or minimizes the use of shadow masks. A selective laser ablation process, where the laser patterning process removes a layer or stack of layers while leaving layer(s) below intact, is used to meet certain or all of the patterning requirements. For die patterning from the substrate side, where the laser beam passes through the substrate before reaching the deposited layers, a die patterning assistance layer, such as an amorphous silicon layer or a microcrystalline silicon layer, may be used to achieve thermal stress mismatch induced laser ablation, which greatly reduces the laser energy required to remove material.

Abstract: This invention relates to a tube finning machine, i.e. to a machine adapted to fit one or more fins onto one or more tubes. The tube finning machine has a base with a primary axis and a mounting part upon which a plurality of tubes can be mounted in a desired array. The tubes are aligned with the primary axis. A carrier locates a number of fins and a drive means, suitably hydraulic, moves the carrier relative to the mounting part in the direction of the primary axis in order to drive the fins onto the tubes. The machine can be adjusted to fit a variable number of fins to a variable array of tubes. The mounting part and the carrier are both movable relative to the base in the direction of the primary axis, and the mounting part is movable relative to the base between a number of predetermined mounting positions. The length of the tubes to which fins can be fitted is therefore also variable, and may for example be up to 12 metres.

Abstract: A device and method for storing, curing, drying hay and other fibrous plant materials which includes a flexible water impermeable bag, as injection means at one end and an adjustable vent at the opposite end, and preferably spacer means between stacks of baled materials. The bales are progressively loaded at one end as the bag is unrolled and extended progressively laterally for additional bales. After loading, the gas injection and vent means are connected at ends of the bag and are adjusted to generate a back pressure within the bag to partially inflate it. The flowrate of gas or air is adjusted to maintain the temperature within the bales within an optimal range, preferably between ambient temperature and 120 degrees Fahrenheit enabling beneficial curing until sufficient moisture has been removed to prevent mold growth.

Abstract: The Zipper Lace is an innovative zipper design used as a shoelace for footwear. It provides a method for securing a foot in the housing of footwear, especially athletic footwear, which may loosen thus creating a potentially hazardous condition for athletes. The Zipper Lace is designed as a closure system for holding the foot in the foot-housing member using the existing eyelet design of footwear. It is flexible and can be threaded through the eyelets of existing shoes instead of standard fabric laces. The zipper design allows the wearer to firmly secure the foot to the shoe housing. Instead of tying cloth shoelaces to maintain a secure fit and comfort, the Zipper Lace employs a fastening means which is used to lock both ends of the Zipper Lace in place. This combined with the natural locking of the Zipper Laces, secures the footwear.
