Abstract: A low velocity bullet has an elongated body with a forward end, opposed rear end and intermediate cylindrical portion between. In the forward end, there is a preset cavity designed to receive a resilient nose element made from an elastomer or other rubber-like material. Unlike prior flat-tipped bullets for high speed rifles, the elastomer in the forward end of this bullet is intentionally raised for protruding outwardly beyond the forward body end. Preferably, the lower end to the bullet head is folded and crimped to the bullet body.

Abstract: A hopper car discharge outflow is controlled by closure members, at least one of which is movable. The doors are hingeless, being mounted on four bar linkages, such that the distal edge of the doors sweeps predominantly horizontally while the proximal edge of the door moves predominantly upwardly. The doors move through noncircular arcs, such that the size of the vertically projected door opening is abnormally large compared to the clearance heights of the door. The doors are driven by a longitudinal shaft that is mounted within the center sill. It drives a set of single input, double output bell cranks that drive adjacent pairs of doors, and that employs an over-center toggle to hold the doors in the closed position when the car is laded. The actuators may be mounted in shelters midway along the car, and may be offset from the centersill. The actuators may be mounted predominantly vertically such that gravity may obviate the need for a secondary lock.

The invention further relates to a process for the preparation of these materials. The process obviates the need of external addition of sodium silicate which is one of the costliest and main raw materials in conventional geopolymerisation processes. Interestingly, in the present invention the sodium silicate has been synthesized in situ by designing of conditions for synergistic and simultaneous mechano-chemical reactions among the selected raw materials viz. inorganic and organic wastes under alkaline environment.

Abstract: The Sure Feed Bird Feeder would consist of an upper feeder and would be filled with bird feed by means of a removable top. The middle of the unit would feature a funnel bowel, while the bottom of the unit would feature a collection tray. To use the Sure Feed Bird Feeder, the owner would simply hang it or pole-mount it in any desired location. The birds would feed from the top of the unit, and any scattered feed would be caught by the funnel and deposited into the bottom collection tray to be recycled. Once in place, this using would prevent scattered seed from falling to the ground causing unnecessary waste and would extend the longevity of the owners purchased feed.

Abstract: An on-demand animal feed apparatus is provided comprising a receiving chamber, base tube and actuator. The receiving chamber comprises an upper section to connect to a feed supply, a lower section, and an intermediate section disposed between the upper and lower sections. A base tube is connected to the lower section of the receiving chamber and cooperates with the receiving chamber to define the feed reservoir. A lower portion of the base tube defines a discharge opening for dispensing animal feed. An actuator is disposed at least partially within the base tube and is configured to raise and lower in an axial direction in response to movement by an animal, thereby allowing the transfer of animal feed from the feed reservoir through the discharge opening. The lower section of the receiving chamber defines a relief area for the temporary displacement of animal feed when the actuator is raised or lowered.

Abstract: An animal housing assembly includes a cage coupled to a base assembly to provide an enclosure for one or more animals to be kept in captivity. The cage is collapsible such that the cage may transition from an expanded state, wherein the cage may cooperate with the base assembly to form an enclosure for an animal, to a collapsed state, wherein portions of the cage may fold into one another into a compact condition. The base assembly may transition from an assembled state, wherein first and second base members are releasably coupled to one another to form the base assembly, to a disassembled state, wherein the first and second base members are separated from one another, thereby allowing a more compact condition.

Abstract: A pet grooming tool includes a handle having a proximate end on which is mounted a set of rear blades and a set of forward blades. The rear blades are interleaved with the forward blades. Each blade includes a hooked end having a curved, outer tip which is unsharpened, and an inset sharpened blade edge. The rear blades and forward blades are offset in both a forward-to-rear orientation and a side-to-side orientation to cause the fur or hair of the animal being groomed to form a soft “S” shape or bend over the sharpened blade edges.

The scraper uncovers the hair collectors when the device is pressed down for use, and scrapes the hair collectors to eject hair collected when the device is released. Ejection of collected hair can also be controlled manually. A collection chamber may be provided, and multiple combs may be mounted on a rotatable dowel that recede within the rotatable barrel, or with sliding plates around and offset from the dowel as the dowel is rotated. A door or window on a surface of the collection chamber can be opened to empty the chamber of collected hair.

Abstract: A system for rapid and efficient water heating is provided, with a water and heat recovery component. Using a thermal store as a heat exchanger the system mixes steam and cold water to deliver hot water at a user-controlled temperature. The high operating temperature of the thermal store and its thermal efficiency result in a compact, highly-efficient means of hot water delivery. Water and energy usage are further reduced through a means of recycling hot water through the system in operation.

Abstract: In an oil field fracing operation, a direct fire heater is provided that is mobile and self-contained on a trailer chassis. The direct fire heater has the maximum heat exchange possible between a burning gas and the fracing fluid by direct contact therewith. Recirculation is provided to maintain the fracing fluid at the desired temperature. A stack for the direct fire heater is removable for movement from one frac job or frac water heating site to another. Pellets in the stack helps insure a more complete heat exchange between the fracing fluid and the burning gas.
