The light source is configured for use in a data collection system such as an optical coherence tomography system. The light source can be controlled with a drive waveform. Linearizing and symmetrizing parameters of the light source such as forward and backward scan durations is achieved using a suitable drive waveform. Phase, amplitude, and other parameters for different harmonics of a fundamental wave can be identified that improve operating parameters such as the duty cycle and peak frequency matching between scans. The fundamental wave and one or more of such harmonics can be combined to generate the suitable drive wave form. The light source can include a tunable light source that includes or is in optical communication with a tunable filter.

Abstract: A sheet conveying device includes: a conveying unit; a nonvolatile memory; and a controller. The conveying unit is configured to convey a sheet along a conveying path. The controller is configured to control the conveying unit to convey the sheet, store position data in the nonvolatile memory during conveyance of the sheet, determine whether or not the sheet conveying device is started, and drive the conveying unit for an amount determined by the position data if the sheet conveying device is started. The conveying path is divided into a plurality of segments. The position data identifies a segment in which the sheet stays. The more downstream the segment identified by the position data is in the conveying path, the smaller the amount determined by the position data is.

Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, in order to make an engine CPU perform first processing after output of a return request, a main CPU sets a level of a signal line, through which the return request is output, at a first level. In order to make the engine CPU perform second processing, the main CPU sets the level of the signal line at a second level. The engine CPU determines on the basis of the level of the signal line after the output of the return request which processing is to perform, the first processing or the second processing.

The display portion includes touch panel that detects touched position on display surface. The piezoelectric element is provided on touch panel and vibrates touch panel. In response to touch panel being touched, drive portion applies a voltage to piezoelectric element to vibrate piezoelectric element. The detection portion detects the voltage value of a voltage generated in piezoelectric element by a pressure being applied to piezoelectric element when touch panel is touched. The smaller the voltage value detected by detection portion is, the larger the voltage applied to piezoelectric element by drive portion for vibrating piezoelectric element is. The larger the voltage value detected by detection portion is, the smaller the voltage applied to piezoelectric element by drive portion for vibrating piezoelectric element is.
