Abstract: Herein is provide a dental implant for preventing elution of metal when the dental implant is applied within an oral cavity, and for preventing the occurrence of mismatching (bumpy occlusion or the like) when the dental implant is fixed in place. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the dental implant. The abutment manufacturing steps include a ceramic molded body production step for molding a ceramic molded body composition to obtain a ceramic molded body, an assembling step for assembling a titanium member and the ceramic molded body together to obtain an assembled body, a degreasing step for degreasing the assembled body so that the ceramic molded body is transformed into a ceramic degreased body, and a sintering step for sintering the assembled body to transform the ceramic degreased body into a ceramic member so that the ceramic member is firmly fixed to the titanium member.

Abstract: A dental implant apparatus including an implant having an external threaded wall adapted to be implanted in a patient's bone, said implant being provided with a cylindrical axial cavity having an internal thread accessible from a first end. The dental implant apparatus further includes a screw comprising a threaded stem adapted to be helicoidally coupled with the internal thread of said cavity of the implant, wherein said screw is a single piece made entirely of a NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) compound comprising silicon.

Abstract: A frame assembly that includes at least two frame members that are connected to one another. A corner key cavity is formed at the outer sides of adjacent frame members and is shaped to cooperate with a corner key. The corner key cooperates with the corner key cavity to secure adjacent frame members to one another. The corner key cavity is formed at or near the outer perimeter of the joined frame members, and extends across a majority of the depth of the frame members. The frame assembly may include a number of frame members that, when secured to one another, define a window frame assembly.

Abstract: A pre-notched drip edge assembly and related method includes a plurality of drip edge sections interconnected end-to-end to form a continuous water barrier along a roof edge. Each drip edge section has a formed one-piece construction with a top flange and a bottom flange having an inverted L-shape with upper and lower legs. The forward edges of the top flange and the upper leg are integrally interconnected along a folded-over nose having a wedge-shape. A pair of notches are formed in the opposite ends of each drip edge section which extend through the upper edge of the lower leg and the forward edges of the upper leg and the top flange to define flat end tab areas that are inserted into the noses of the next adjacent drip edge sections to horizontally and vertically locate the same along the building roof.

Abstract: A large scale structure includes a plurality of panels, wherein each panel has at least one opening therethrough. And each panel has opposed edge profiles that are positionable next to adjacent panels and opposed end profiles that are positionable next to adjacent panels. A plurality of rods extend through aligned openings so as to interconnect the plurality of panels to one another. And a plurality of coupling nuts, each coupling nut attachable to an end of one of the rods, wherein the coupling nuts secure the panels to one another. An insert with apertures aligned with the openings allows a rod to extend through the insert and facilitate securement of the insert to the plurality of panels so as to form a section. Additional sections can be assembled as needed to form the structure.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting toe nails and finger nails includes a plastic frame member. The frame member includes an upper frame member and a lower frame member. The upper and lower frame members are either attached together at a rear thereof or they are formed as a continuous component that generally includes a V-shape or a U-shape at the rear. One of a pair of cutting blades is attached to a front of the upper frame member and a remainder of the pair of cutting blades is attached to a front of the lower frame member so that a cutting edge of each of the pair of cutting blades will be in alignment and face each other. According to certain preferred embodiments, the device is disposable. According to certain other preferred embodiments each of the pair of cutting blades can be replaced with a new replacement blade assembly. A safety bumper prevents injury and provides a means for controlling the finished length of the nail.

Abstract: A vibrating razor handle assembly is provided for facilitating use of different types of razor blade cartridges with a single vibrating handle. The assembly includes an elongated housing having a first end, a second end, and a perimeter wall extending between the first end and the second end. A vibrator is positioned in the housing. An adapter is coupled to the housing and the vibrator whereby the adapter vibrates when the vibrator is activated. The adapter has a distal end relative to the housing configured for coupling to a razor blade cartridge.

Abstract: A folding knife capable of preventing automatic folding, which includes a handle having first, second and third plates, and a blade pivotally connected between the first and second plates by a pivot. The second plate is provided with a resilient stopper having a first end fixed to the second plate and a second end extending toward the first plate in a slanting manner. The third plate has one side corresponding in position to the second plate and concavely provided with an engaging hole. When the blade is fully rotated out of the handle, the second end of the resilient stopper presses against one end of the blade and thereby keeps the blade fully rotated out of the handle. Thus, when a force applied to the blade is excessively large, the resilient stopper will not be shifted away from the position against the blade.

Abstract: A dosing spoon is provided with two bowl portions, each with a front end for oral insertion, a back end, and a top edge along the circumference of the bowl. The spoon also has a handle portion that extends between each bowl. The first and second bowl portions are sized and shaped to contain a 2.5 mL and a 5.0 mL dose, respectively, of a substance with a specific gravity in the range of about 1.1300-1.1700. A rib may be present on the bottom surface of the handle portion to provide both additional stiffening to the handle, as well as a de-nesting feature.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a magnetic field dipole based transmitter and magnetic field sensor receiver to detect and/or determine the position and/or orientation of a user's receiver; in some embodiments accuracy to less than one foot is achievable; in some embodiments a receiver is located in a cellular phone. An exemplary communications protocol for a location network service is disclosed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for aligning an input shaft of a wind turbine generator with an output shaft of a wind turbine are disclosed. Preferably, the method includes placing a push plate of a wind turbine alignment tool into pressing contact with a selected support flange of a wind turbine generator identified by a misalignment measurement device. With the push plate positioned, an indexing means of the wind turbine alignment tool is advanced along an adjustment link member of the wind turbine alignment tool to impart an alignment force onto the selected support flange to align the input shaft of the wind turbine generator with the output shaft of the wind turbine. The method preferably concludes by rechecking the alignment of the input shaft of the wind turbine generator with the output shaft of the wind turbine.

Abstract: A portable articulated arm coordinate measuring machine (AACMM) with multi-bus arm technology that includes a manually positionable articulated arm portion, a measurement device, and an electronic circuit. The electronic circuit is configured to receive a position signal from the arm portion and to provide data corresponding to a position of the measurement device. The AACMM further includes a probe end, an accessory device, an encoder data bus, and a first device data bus. The encoder data bus is coupled to the arm portion and the electronic circuit, and the encoder data bus is configured to send the position signal to the electronic circuit. The first device data bus is coupled to the accessory device and the electronic circuit. The first device data bus is configured to operate simultaneously with and independently of the encoder data bus for sending accessory device data from the accessory device to the electronic circuit.

Abstract: A retractable tape measuring device comprising a single housing in which are two spools. A first spool is utilized for a flexible, retractable tape measure. A second spool is utilized for a retractable safety lanyard. The opening for the safety lanyard is on the narrow face of the device opposite the opening for the tape measure. The lanyard may be used to secure the device to clothing, other tools and devices, or to fixed structures.

Abstract: A housing for modularizing a heat pump system of a clothes dryer and a clothes dryer having the same are disclosed. The heat pump system modularized housing of the clothes collectively modularizes a condenser, a compressor, an evaporator and an expansion valve that constitute the heat pump system of the clothes dryer. Not only does the heat pump system is stably mounted in the clothes dryer but also components of the heat pump system can be effectively protected. In addition, the fastening procedures of each component can be unified to simplify an assembling process of the clothes dryer, and thus, the productivity can be improved. Moreover, a structure of an internal flow path of the clothes dryer can be simplified to thus improve efficiency of the heat pump system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a dryer and a drying method of the same. The dryer includes a condensing unit to change water vapor evaporated from a drying object into condensate water by cooling, a condensate water storage container in which the condensate water is stored, a water level sensing device to detect a level of the stored condensate water, and a microcomputer to calculate a change rate of condensation or of the condensate water level based on the detected water level and to determine a value of dryness of the drying object. The dryer effectively performs a drying operation based on the accurately detected value of dryness of the drying object.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a hitch suspension system that reduces a transfer of energy (e.g., provides a smoother ride) between two bodies hitched together, such as between a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle/trailer. In an embodiment, the suspension system includes a hydraulic cylinder with an extendable rod in fluid communication with a fluid pump. A control valve is fluidly coupled between the hydraulic cylinder and the fluid pump and is configured to adjust an extension length of the rod. Additionally, a variable orifice that adjusts resistance to extension and retraction of the rod is fluidly coupled between the hydraulic cylinder and the control valve. A first fixed restrictive element is fluidly coupled in series with the variable orifice to dissipate energy ad the rod extends and a second fixed restrictive element is fluidly coupled in series with the variable orifice to dissipate energy as the rod retracts.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for selectively decorating a vehicle surface are disclosed. The apparatus is a removable applique with a front face including a graphic comprising ultra-violet responsive material and a back face including an attachment agent having the ability to be applied and removed from the surface of the vehicle without causing damage. The method includes receiving the removable applique on the surface of a vehicle. The method further includes sending an instruction to illuminate an ultra-violet source to direct ultra-violet light at the graphic of the removable applique to render the graphic visible. In one embodiment, the instruction to illuminate the ultra-violet source can be sent in response to the activation of a switch, button, control panel or other input means of controlling the ultra-violet source. In another embodiment, the instruction to illuminate the ultra-violet source can be sent in response to a vehicle state.

The spring loaded locking element arranged adjacent to the gripping means and positioned on the ESL such that the spring loaded locking element cannot enter the receiving means on the ESL holder during insertion of the gripping means into the receiving means, and such that it enters the receiving means by spring action when the gripping means is brought into a hooked position, in the receiving means.

Abstract: A tag for attachment to a circuit breaker is formed from a sheet of plastic material having first and second notches, one or more catches corresponding to one or more apertures, an electronic security device and a plurality of parallel grooves extending between the edges to form a plurality of sections. The tag is assembled by folding the sheet of plastic material so that the end sections overlap and the apertures fixedly receive the catches to secure the tag in a closed position. The notches in the first and second top sections form an opening, which is adapted for receiving the circuit breaker switch.

Abstract: A magazine-latching assembly for a firearm is described. The magazine-latching assembly includes a latch body that is slideably disposed in a receiver. The latch body includes a notch that accepts an aft tab on a magazine. A locking member is pivotally disposed in the latch body and engages the receiver to lock the latch body in a forward position in which the magazine is locked into the receiver. The assembly includes a magazine-release lever that forms a portion of a trigger guard. Actuation of the magazine-release lever pivots the locking member out of engagement with the receiver, moves the latch body out of engagement with the aft tab of the magazine, and draws the forward tab of the magazine out of engagement with the receiver. The magazine-latching assembly is useable with twin-tab magazines and with bullpup-style firearms. The magazine-release lever is also configured for ambidextrous operation of the firearm.

Abstract: A novel fire control system for a bolt action firearm includes a firing pin sear located and controlled at one side of the forward end of the bolt. The sear configuration is optimum for rifles having a bullpup form. The location of the sear also provides clearance under the bolt for the bolt to be moved over a firearm magazine without interference with cartridges in the magazine.

Abstract: A firearm accessory part has a locator module and a transmitter module. The locator module is operable to determine the locator module's position. The transmitter module is operable to transmit the position of the locator module. The firearm accessory part is a replacement part for a firearm. Removal of the firearm accessory part from the firearm may disable a feature of the firearm. Removal of the firearm from a storage device may activate the locator module and transmitter module. The invention also includes a method of assembling a firearm consisting of the steps of obtaining a firearm, obtaining a firearm accessory part, removing a part of the firearm corresponding to the firearm accessory part, and replacing the part removed from the firearm with the firearm accessory part.

Abstract: Devices and methods for altering a firearm to prevent firing of rounds of a first size while allowing the firing of rounds of a smaller, second size are provided. In one embodiment, a barrel safety device prevents a live round from fully chambering in a firearm, while allowing a blank to be chambered and fired from the firearm. The barrel safety device includes a muzzle block, a rod, and a tip in one embodiment. The rod and the tip can be sized so as obstruct a portion of the barrel and/or the bullet chamber of the firearm, such that a round having a first length, such as a live round, contacts the tip of the barrel safety device and cannot be fully chambered. The rod and the tip can be sized so as to allow a cartridge having a second, smaller length, such as a blank cartridge, to be fully chambered without contacting the tip of the barrel safety device.

Abstract: An ambidextrous thumb safety assembly, configured for use in a firearm, includes a first lever assembly for positioning on a first side of the firearm, a second lever assembly for positioning on a second side of the firearm, and a monolithic shaft assembly for coupling the first lever assembly and the second lever assembly. The monolithic shaft assembly includes a first support portion configured to rotatably engage a first portion of a frame of the firearm, a second support portion configured to rotatably engage a second portion of the frame of the firearm, and a control portion configured to selectively prohibit operation of a trigger mechanism of the firearm.

Abstract: A rifle rest structure is adapted to receive first and second sand bags and operative to place a rifle thereon for target practice or the like. The rifle rest has a unitary frame construction including a front portion that supports the front of a rifle, a rear portion that supports the rear of the rifle, and a middle portion that rigidly interconnects the front and rear portions. The front portion has a length that is longer than a parallel length of the rear portion. The length of the front portion is in the range of six times longer than the parallel rear portion. The rifle rest further includes an adjusting mechanism that is operative to adjust the elevation of the front portion relative to the rear portion. The subject arrangement provides good stability for the rifle during use.

Abstract: A firearm laser sight alignment assembly includes a laser module for emitting a beam along an optical axis, the laser module having an outer seat. The alignment assembly encompasses a resilient grommet mechanically engaging the outer seat in a first adhesive free interference fit. The grommet includes an external seat sized to form adhesive free interferences fits with a laser cover and the housing, as the laser cover engages the housing to retain the grommet with respect to the housing and the laser cover. Upon operable assembly, the interference fits substantially preclude axial and longitudinal movement between the grommet and the laser module as well as the grommet and the laser cover and housing, while allowing angular movement of the laser module to a desired alignment position.

Abstract: The scope ring includes a clamping mechanism, which provides an enhanced connection for Weaver and Picatinny style rails and rail bases. The scope ring includes a base member and a rail clamping member that bolt together at an angle and form the improved clamping mechanism. Tightening the fasteners draws the contact surfaces of the base member and the rail clamping member laterally inward against the sides of the rail base and vertically downward against the top of the rail base.

Abstract: The presently disclosed technology is directed to an outrigger assembly for a sport fishing boat. The outrigger assembly is provided with a base plate that mounts on the forward area of a T-top of the fishing boat. An outrigger pole containment assembly is in turn mechanically affixed to the base plate. A pair of telescoping outrigger poles is positioned within the outrigger pole containment assembly such that they are in a horizontally opposed configuration. Each pole is formed from a plurality of elongated tubular extensions, in a nested relationship, and is extensible outward to either the starboard or port side of the boat when being deployed. The outrigger assembly is provided with a plurality of manual or electrically operated reels for traversal of several fishing lines through line guiding means provided integral with the telescoping poles.

Abstract: A mechanism by which the hook and leader line are released from a casting float enclosure upon its impact with the water so that once the casting float enclosure opens, the leader line with hook and bait go into the water to attract a fish. A mechanism by which in the event the hook or leader line become snagged, the leader line would be lost but the casting float enclosure separately attached to the fishing line will be retrieved. A separating cage with a portion of the casting float to separate the hook and bait form the operating components of the casing float.

At least a louvered shutter is provided between two curved tubular beams and between two main brackets. A film is covered between two curved tubular beams, and steel sheets are freely connected to gaps between two main brackets and under the lower edges of two curved tubular beams for development of a first skeleton unit with gutters installed, around which a canopy greenhouse can be assembled with a plurality of first skeleton units.

Abstract: Described are devices and methods for providing protection to plants from cold and other weather. A plant cover or protector is constructed of a translucent or other material, a flexible or bendable material, cut into a two-dimensional blank or shape and provides an easily assembled, self-supporting structure to be placed over one or more plants or a location. The plant protector is erected without the use of tools or need for a separate frame or support. The plant protector may be used with stakes or spikes. The plant protector may be collapsed to a planar configuration. The plant protector may be easily and inexpensively manufactured. The plant protector may be repeatedly used from season to season. A top portion of each plant protector may be easily and quickly closed or opened such as by manual manipulation. The plant protector comprises one or more supports or feet for increased contact with the ground and resilience against wind.
