  • Patent number: RE44839
Abstract: A collapsible control lever for use with a control system having levers including a conventional cable control lever system such as those found on motorcycles and bicycles. The lever has three independent axes of rotation about which sections of the lever rotate during impact to deflect the impact force. However, the lever remains rigid in the direction of the applied control force when in its operational position during normal operation. The lever restores itself to its operational position following impact with minimal user assistance. The lever may be sized and shaped to be easily retrofit into existing known pivot bases, and at least one of the pivots may include an improved swivel pivot that is sealed from mud and other debris in its operational configuration. The improved swivel pivot has a first and second generally cylindrical frame portion that rotate about a pivot pin with each frame portion having a sliding surface with a smoothly alternating concave and convex-shaped sliding surface.

  • Patent number: RE44840
Abstract: A method and equipment which includes an illustrated-spot illumination-distribution data table for storing an illumination distribution within an illustrated spot and which calculates a coordinate position for a particle or a defect and the diameter of the particle on the basis of detection light intensity data about the particle or defect and the illustrated-spot illumination-distribution data table. Thus, even when the illumination distribution within the illustrated spot based on an actual illumination optical system is not a Gaussian distribution, the calculation of the particle diameter of the detected particle or defect and the calculation of a coordinate position on the surface of an object to be inspected can be attained with an increased accuracy.

  • Patent number: RE44841
Abstract: A pump is formed by a housing (10) having an inlet (11) for connection to a source of fluid and an outlet (12) for pumped fluid. A rotor (15) is rotatable within the housing and the inlet (11) and the outlet (12) are spaced apart around the path of the rotor (15) in the housing. The rotor (15) has surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) that form, with the housing (10), closed chambers (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d) which travel around the housing (10) to convey fluid from the inlet (11) to the outlet (12). The housing (10) carries a seal (14) that is located between the inlet (11) and the outlet (12) in the direction of travel of the rotor (15). The seal (14) co-operates with the rotor surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) as the surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) pass between the outlet (12) and the inlet (11) to prevent the formation of a chamber during said passage and so prevent fluid flow from the outlet (12) to the inlet (11). Such a pump is easily and cheaply produced and is particularly useful in medical applications.

The clip portions can be broken away from the wall fastener at locations which will be aligned with a wall stud. In this manner, the wall fastener can be quickly clipped onto the nail flange of the tub once the tub is installed. The surround wall can then be simply adhered to a forward face of the wall fastener, such that the entire tub assembly can be easily and properly assembled.

Abstract: An outer enclosure may comprise a first enclosure region defining a first enclosed space and a second enclosure region defining a second enclosed space. The first enclosure region may comprise a first opening edge, and the second enclosure region may comprise a second opening edge. The first and second enclosure regions each have an inner surface. A first inner arm enclosure region may be secured to the inner surface of the first enclosure region and, together with the first enclosure region, defines a first arm passageway having a first arm entry opening. A second inner arm enclosure region may be secured to the inner surface of the second enclosure region and, together with the second enclosure region, defines a second arm passageway having a second arm entry opening.

  • Patent number: 8695134
Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating sleep is disclosed. Embodiments of the sleep system receive a person's lower arm in an arm cavity of a person laying in a sleep-on-side position. An exemplary sleep system has a trunk rest and head rest. Two separated cantilevered supports extending outwardly from the base portion of the head rest are in contact with and supported by a top edge of the trunk rest, thereby defining an arm aperture that receives the person's lower arm when laying in a sleep-on-side position. An arm cavity is defined by lower surfaces of the two cantilevered supports and a trunk rest cantilevered arm cavity surface that extends generally downward and inward.

Abstract: A sacrum support pillow comprises a three-sided deformable member having a length and a width. The length defines a central region disposed between first and second ends. The width in the central region is greater than the width in the first and second ends such that the width tapers to points near the first and second ends. The three sided deformable member defines three edges, and wherein a deformable member surface is located between the first and second edges, the second and third edges, and the third and first edges, and wherein each surface is concave and may have a different width. An outer covering encloses the three sided deformable member.

  • Patent number: 8695137
Abstract: A portable diaper-changing restraint system is provided that includes a resilient, substantially U-shaped body having two cantilever arms and a removable cover assembly configured to fully enclose the U-shaped body. The cover assembly includes a strap having a first end attached or attachable to one arm and having a second end configured with an attached fastening device for attaching to the opposing arm. In use, the infant is positioned on the strap with the U-shaped body brought over and onto the infant's waist; then the strap is attached. Thus the U-shaped body is positioned around the infant's torso with the ends of the cantilever arms resting on the surface upon which the baby is lying, reducing the ability of the infant to turn and holding the infant's hands away from the diaper area.

Abstract: The tire-unloading ramp is a specially designed ramp that is ideally suited for rolling a tire away from the ramp when unloading a stack of tires. The tire-unloading ramp includes a back member and a front member that are connected to one another via a hinge member. The front member is longer in length than the back member, and forms an acute angle with respect to the ground surface. Moreover, the hinge member enables an acute angle to form between the front member and the back member, and is located at an apex of the tire-unloading ramp. A support member is able to rotate from against a rear surface of the front member, and engage a support member notch located on a rear surface of the back member.
