Publication number: 20140191879Abstract: Methods and tools for detecting casing position downhole is presented. The method utilizes electromagnetic. (EM) tools with tilted antenna systems to detect casing position. Sometimes titled antenna designs also increase EM tools' sensitivity to formation parameters, which can lead to false signals for casing detection. In addition, it is very difficult to distinguish measured signals between a casing source and a formation source. The methods presented help to distinguish between the two sources more clearly. The methods and tools presented also help to minimize those environmental effects, as well as enhance the signals from a surrounding conductive casing. The methods herein provide ideas of EM tool's design to precisely determine casing position within a certain distance to casing position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2011Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.Inventors: Michael S. Publication number: 20140191889Abstract: An analog-digital conversion circuit includes a comparator that receives an analog input signal. A controller generates an N1-bit first signal and an N2B-bit second signal in accordance with an output signal from the comparator. A first digital-analog converter generates a first reference signal from the first signal. A second digital-analog converter generates a second reference signal from the second signal. A correction circuit corrects the first and second signals to generate a digital output signal. The N2B-bit second signal is acquired by adding a Kbit correction signal to an N2A-bit signal. The controller sequentially sets bit values of the first signal and bit values of the second signal in accordance with the output signal of the comparator. The correction circuit generates the (N1+N2A)-bit digital output signal based on a sum of a value acquired by multiplying the N1-bit first signal by 2?N2A and a value of the N2B-bit second signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2014Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: FUJITSU SEMICONDUCTOR LIMITEDInventor: Hidetaka HANEDA

Publication number: 20140191894Abstract: A three-dimensional positioning method includes establishing the geometric model of optical and radar sensors, obtaining rational function conversion coefficient, refining the rational function model and positioning the three-dimensional coordinates. Most of the radar satellite companies and part of the optical satellite only provide satellite ephemeris data, rather than the rational function model. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain the rational polynomial coefficients from the geometric model of optical and radar sensors; followed by refining the rational function model by the ground control points, so that object image space intersection is more serious; and then followed by measuring the conjugate point on the optical and radar images. Finally, the observation equation is established by the rational function model to solve the three-dimensional coordinates. It is obvious from the above results that the integration of optical and radar images does achieve the three-dimensional positioning.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2013Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: National Central UniversityInventors: Liang-Chien Chen, Chin-Jung Yang

Publication number: 20140191913Abstract: Technology for standardizing an antenna design for a computing device includes an antenna element in the shape of an object that is commonly useful with multiple, different computing products. For example, in one embodiment the antenna element is a bracket for holding a stylus or other object within a stylus chamber that is associated with the computing device. The dimension and composition of the antenna remain relatively constant to provide a consistent radiation pattern requiring little or no redesign when implemented across the different products, since it may be placed at an edge of a device, by a stylus holder, or similar, common location that is a distance from a ground plane and device circuitry.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2013Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: INTERMEC IP CORP.Inventors: Oliver Ge, Paul Hulett, Dana Utt

Publication number: 20140191915Abstract: A broadband antenna element for RF transmission and reception over cellular frequencies. The antenna element is formed of conductive material on a substrate surface of conductive material in the form of a pair of half portions extending in opposite directions to distal tips defining the widest distance of a mouth of a cavity. The mouth converges to reduce in cross-section to a narrowest point at a plurality of different flare angles defined by the edges of the two half portions in between the pair of half portions forming the element. The resulting antenna element radiates and receives a wide band cellular frequencies enabling a single element to serve different providers operating on different frequency bands in the cellular spectrum between 680 MHz to 1900 MHz.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2014Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: Mesh City WirelessInventor: Sheng Peng

Publication number: 20140191916Abstract: An antenna device includes an antenna coil, a magnetic core, and a metal member. The antenna coil is mounted on a flexible base. The antenna coil is wound in a loop shape or a spiral shape such that its winding center section is a coil opening section. The magnetic core passes through a slit opening section in the flexible base. The metal member has a rectangular opening. The antenna coil is exposed through the opening in the metal member. A front-side coil conductor is nearer the opening than the magnetic core, and thus a magnetic flux links the front-side coil conductor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2014Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: MURATA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventor: Hiromitsu ITO

Publication number: 20140191918Abstract: Disclosure is related to an omnidirectional antenna. Structurally the antenna includes multiple antenna units which are oppositely disposed around the edges of a grounded substrate. The antenna is able to handle at least two bands of electromagnetic signals. The body of each antenna unit includes a radiating member which is extended from an inverse-F portion type structure at the upper half of the body. A downward-protrudent feeding member is formed at the middle portion of the radiating member. A connecting member electrically connected to the substrate is formed at the lower half of the body, and associated with the radiating member. At least two upward-protrudent grounding members are formed onto the connecting member. The grounding members are jointly grounded with the substrate. It is noted that the feeding member is extended in the midst of the two grounding members. The opposite antenna units are mutually served be reflectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2013Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: ARCADYAN TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: SHIH-CHIEH CHENG, KUO-CHANG LO
