  • Patent number: 8776785
Abstract: Invented is a solar smelter that also manufactures hot air or hot fluids. A curved parabolic-half-shell and curved-overhang focuses the sun's rays, sunlight, unto a crucible, which is buried into a thermal-mass, or the ground. Using a planar-reflector, or heliostat, the sunlight is reflected horizontally unto an interior reflective wall of the curved parabolic-half-shell and curved-overhang. Surrounding the crucible is a thermal-mass with embedded pipes, that manufacture hot and compress air, or heat a gas or fluid. On top of the thermal-mass is a clear transparent-and-insulating floor that captures any stray solar rays, sunlight, adding heat to the thermal-mass. At the foci of the parabolic-half-shell and curved-overhang is a crucible for melting rocks, sand, glass or metals, or processing chemicals.

  • Patent number: 8776791
Abstract: A respiration apparatus and a method for calibrating respiration parameters thereof are provided. A flow measuring reference component arranged behind the inspiratory valve in the ventilator is used as a flow measuring reference sensor for calibrating the flow sensor so that the flow rates of the gas through the flow measuring reference component and the flow sensor to be calibrated are identical or in a corresponding relation. Electrical parameters output from the flow sensor and the flow measuring reference component are respectively acquired and processed to obtain a relation curve of the gas flow rate and the electrical parameter of the flow sensor on the basis of the read gas flow rate and the electrical parameters of the flow sensor. The present invention enables automatic calibration for a flow sensor without using any measuring instrument.

  • Patent number: 8776821
Abstract: A method comprises transporting a first stream of a carrier gas to a delivery device that contains a solid precursor compound. The first stream of carrier gas is at a temperature greater than or equal to 20° C. The method further comprises transporting a second stream of the carrier gas to a point downstream of the delivery device. The first stream and the second stream are combined to form a third stream, such that the dewpoint of the vapor of the solid precursor compound in the third stream is lower than the ambient temperature. The flow direction of the first stream, the flow direction of the second stream and the flow direction of the third stream are unidirectional and are not opposed to each other.

  • Patent number: 8776822
Abstract: An inflow protection device for preventing liquids and other contaminants from entering a water-carrying pipeline through an air valve connected to the pipeline. The inflow protection device includes an adaptor and an elongated vent pipe. The adaptor has a first end for coupling with an outlet of the air valve and second end. The vent pipe has a first end configured for directly or indirectly coupling with the second end of the adaptor and a second end extending out of and above a vault in which the air valve is installed. The vent pipe is of a length sufficient to position its second end above a flood plain level so that the second end allows air to be exhausted from and admitted into the air valve even when the vault in which the air valve is located becomes flooded.

  • Patent number: 8776823
Abstract: A fuel shut-off valve includes a casing defining therein a valve chamber communicating between inside and outside of a fuel tank. A bottom wall member defines a bottom of the valve chamber and has communication holes formed therein, so that the valve chamber communicates with the inside of the fuel tank via the communication holes. A valve mechanism is disposed within the valve chamber and capable of preventing fuel from flowing from the valve chamber to the outside of the fuel tank depending of a fuel level within the fuel tank. A flow area of each of the communication holes decreases in an outflow direction of the fuel from the valve chamber to the inside of the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 8776824
Abstract: The present invention provides a sanitary automatic water leakage detection and shut-off apparatus installed between a water controlling unit and a water outgoing unit and comprising a water controller, an accumulating unit and a detecting unit; wherein the water controlling unit comprises an inlet, an outlet and a solenoid valve. The solenoid valve is a normally-open solenoid valve capable of closing the outlet to stop water from going out. The accumulating unit is mounted between the water controlling unit and the water outgoing unit and comprises an accumulating hole adjacent to a bottom thereof. The detecting unit is installed on the accumulating unit and electrically connected to the solenoid valve. The detecting unit activates the solenoid valve via an electronic communication method based on a leakage status of the accumulating unit to shut off the water outlet of the water controlling unit and to stop water supply thereof immediately.

Abstract: An oil removing apparatus and system designed to drain fluids such as hot motor oil from a motor vehicle comprises a tank supported by rolling casters and having handles used to position the tank underneath a motor vehicle. An upper portion of the apparatus comprises an inflatable wall structure which provides vertically adjustable positioning around an oil pan or similar structure. The inflatable structure further includes a heat-resistant glove for accessing and removing a drain plug or similar feature. During typical use, a user removes the drain plug with the glove and drains the oil while the glove and inflatable structure protects the user from the hot motor oil.

  • Patent number: 8776827
Abstract: A household tap water monitor includes a water meter, an electrical control valve, a single chip micyoco, an LCD, an electrical source circuit, a photoelectric detector connected to a first input port of the SCM, a reset switch connected to a second input port of the SCM and a keyboard connected to a third input port of the SCM. The water meter and the electrical control valve are connected in series between a tap water pipe and a main tap water inlet pipe. A control port of the electrical control valve is connected to a first output port of the SCM, and the LCD is connected to a second output port of the SCM. The photoelectric detector is used for monitoring the rotation of a small impeller in the water meter. The electrical source circuit is used to supply electricity for the components mentioned above.

  • Patent number: 8776828
Abstract: Known fluid dispensers can suffer from the disadvantage of inadvertent disconnection of a connector causing potentially hazardous spillage of fluid. The present invention relates to a fluid dispensing assembly comprising a tap and a connector body. The tap comprises a first valve, movable between an open and closed position to allow fluid flow through; and a first portion of an interlocking coupling, configured for rotational engagement with a second complementary interlocking coupling portion of the connector body by rotation about a first fluid dispensing assembly axis. The connector body also comprises a second valve, movable between an open and closed position to allow fluid flow through. By this configuration, the first and second interlocking coupling portions remain interlocked preventing disconnection of the connector body from the tap unless the first and second valves are both in the closed position.
