Abstract: A graph of a social network is received. The graph may include a node for each user account and an edge between nodes that represent social networking relationships such as messages between the user accounts or a friend relationship. The graph is transformed into a transformed graph where nodes have direct edges depending on a local test among its neighbors in the original graph. Small subsets of the transformed graph are categorized. The categories are used to identify subgraphs in the transformed graph. Each subgraph is grown by adding an edge from the transformed graph to the subgraph depending on local tests among nodes associated with the edge that have at least one edge that is already in the subgraph. The categorized subgraphs are used to provide targeted advertising, suggest new connections, identify different personalities and interests of users, or to provide other services.

Abstract: This document describes a “hybrid proxy,” which is a network node that enables hosts outside of a link to discover services that are available on the link, by answering service discovery queries from hosts outside of the link. A hybrid proxy may use “zero configuration” networking technologies such as Multicast Domain Name System (mDNS), Domain Name System-Service Discovery (DNS-SD), and/or Domain Name System Long-Lived Queries (DNS-LLQ). As one example, a hybrid proxy may receive a unicast DNS-SD query, transmit a corresponding mDNS query on its link to obtain information responsive to the query, and then transmit a unicast DNS-SD response to the querying host. As another example, a hybrid proxy may receive a unicast DNS-LLQ query, transmit an initial DNS-LLQ answer to the querying host, transmit an mDNS query on its link to obtain additional information, and then transmit subsequent DNS-LLQ update messages to the querying host.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide method, server and system for data sharing in a social networking service (SNS), and non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the system to perform the method for data sharing the SNS. The method includes upon detecting that an account is logged into through a first terminal, establishing a connection of communications to the first terminal; if the account is currently logged into from multiple points, associating an address identifier of the first terminal with an address identifier of at least one second terminal logging into the account, so as to obtain mapping relationship information; and according to the mapping relationship information, forwarding received data of the first terminal to the at least one second terminal, and forwarding received data of the at least one second terminal to the first terminal.

Abstract: A user posting content to a social networking system provides a conversion definition along with the content. The conversion definition identifies a type of interaction associated with the content, such as type of interaction with the content that the user would like to track. After the content is presented to additional users, the social networking system identifies additional users performing the type of interaction with the content identified by the conversion definition. One or more metrics describing the interactions of the type of interaction associated with the content are provide to the user that posted the content.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an approach for broker facilitated, publisher peer-to-peer (P2P) collaboration in a publish-subscription (pub/sub) environment. Specifically, in a typical embodiment, a broker system acts as an intermediary between publisher systems and subscriber systems in the pub/sub environment. Along these lines, the broker creates an administrative communication channel between known publisher systems and the broker system. Using this administrative communication channel, the broker system informs individual publisher systems about other publisher systems such that peer-to-peer communication channels between two or more publisher systems can be established. This can be accomplished using the broker system's knowledge of data being published by the individual publisher systems.

Abstract: A first computer sends an electronic message transparently to a second computer of intended recipients of an electronic mail (e-mail), in response to the e-mail addresses of the intended recipients being entered, by a first end-user on the first computer, into a ‘To’ message header field of the e-mail. The second computer sends a Boolean value to the first computer, wherein one of the intended recipients is not available to respond to the e-mail. The first computer queries a repository to return to the first end-user contact information of backup contact entities to respond the e-mail for the intended recipients that are not available to respond to the e-mail. The first computer sends the e-mail to the backup contact entities that are available to respond to the e-mail. The first computer deletes the e-mail from each inbox of the backup contact entities that received but did not read the e-mail before the intended recipients read the e-mail.

Abstract: A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) session dialog is established between a first user agent and a second user agent. The SIP server receives an in-dialog message for the SIP session dialog. At this point, the SIP server is no longer aware of the SIP session dialog, for example, because the SIP server was rebooted. In response to receiving the in-dialog message, the SIP server sends a request not found message to the first user agent that comprises a server accessible value. The SIP server receives an out-of-dialog SIP REFER message. The out-of-dialog SIP REFER message comprises call state information for the SIP session dialog and is sent based on the server accessible value. The SIP server sends the out-of-dialog SIP REFER message to the second user agent. The SIP session dialog is reestablished. The SIP server can be a SIP proxy server or a Back-to-Back User Agent.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a unified messaging proxy and a method thereof. The unified messaging proxy advantageously enables a user to be communicatively coupled with the same account on a messaging platform using multiple end user devices at the same time, allowing the user to read messages on a first end user device and send messages from a second end user device. The unified messaging proxy manages the multiple end user devices and intercepts all messages to and from the multiple end user devices and the messaging platform. From its perspective, the messaging platform only sees a single client messaging application.
