Abstract: An animal-identifying assembly is configured to be selectively secured to and removed from an animal. The assembly may include an identifying band configured to be wrapped around a portion of an animal. The identifying band may include at least one protuberance proximate a first end and at least one reciprocal aperture proximate a second end. The aperture(s) is configured to receive and retain the protuberance(s). The assembly also includes a securing strap configured to be selectively secured to, and removed from, the identifying band. The securing strap and the identifying band are configured to be reused.

Abstract: The invention is directed to covers, and more particularly to pet tag covers designed to reduce sound caused by movement and impact. Some embodiments of the invention are directed to a pet tag cover comprising two translucent cover halves and an adhesive edge. Each translucent cover half has an inner side and an outer side. The adhesive edge is located along the inner side of each translucent cover half. In another embodiment, at least one cover half further includes an inner side with an indent. Each indent is centered within the inner side and configured to receive a pet tag. In another embodiment, at least one inner side of a translucent cover edge defined the adhesive edge to be located between the edge of the inner side and the indent.

This cheek rest is adjustably and removably affixed to a stock of the rifle. Both the top member and the lower member are in symmetrical shape and are made of moldable plastic materials including the thermoplastic acrylic-polyvinyl chloride material. The top member and the lower member are foldable to fit the longitudinal cross sectional profile of the stick of rifle. There are top fastener holes located on the top member and their corresponding lower fastener holes located on the low member, which are adjustably fastened by fastener. Straps go through strap cuts in the lower member, so as to removably affix the cheek rest to the stock of the rifle.

A metal wire mesh enclosure enables camouflaging means to be affixed to hide the platform and the occupants. A dog box portion communicates from the enclosed platform to the outside of the duck blind so that hunting dogs can get in and out during retrieval. A transom portion enables attachment of an outboard motor and relocation of the duck blind.

The shafts are connected to a resistance element that biases the shafts apart from one another. A first shaft has a catch element, and a second shaft has a slide element that is adapted to slide along said second shaft. The spring-loaded fish hook device can be arranged in a closed configuration in which the shafts are urged towards one another and are held in position by means of the slide element engaging with the catch element. A releasing line is connected to the slide element, and by pulling on the releasing line, the slide element can be disengaged from the catch element, allowing the resistance element to forcibly separate the shafts, and thus the hooks, from one another resulting in an open configuration.

As the body is drawn through water, the fish attracting flasher simulates at least one predatory fish pursuing at least one bait fish.

Abstract: The invention comprises a plurality of traps fitted with data processing means, arranged in a given coverage area, said traps comprising specific traps for rodents, specific traps for flying insects and specific traps for crawling insects. The data processing means include animal presence sensors, means for processing the information provided by said sensors and means for communicating said information, as well as power supply means. According to another aspect of the invention the traps in a given area are superintended by a master station that oversees the operation of said “slave” traps, via said information communication means. The aforesaid area superintended by a master station may include different kinds of traps, i.e. a single area may simultaneously contain specific traps for rodents, specific traps for flying insects and specific traps for crawling insects, said traps being identified by codes that indicate the kind of pest the trap is used for.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present application discloses methods to selectively synthesize higher alcohols and hydrocarbons useful as fuels and industrial chemicals from syngas and biomass. Ketene and ketonization chemistry along with hydrogenation reactions are used to synthesize fuels and chemicals. In another embodiment, ketene used to form fuels and chemicals may be manufactured from acetic acid which in turn can be synthesized from synthesis gas which is produced from coal, biomass, natural gas, etc.

Abstract: A process for optimizing a biomass feedstock for gasification for the production of syngas. The biomass feed, which is preferably a lignocellulosic material, is subjected to controlled torrefaction so that the biomass only undergoes a weight loss of about 10% to 15% on a dry ash free basis. This increases the energy density and friability of the so treated biomass and results in higher efficiency on subsequent gasification.

Abstract: The present invention describes a lawn spike that is configured to distribute a solution of water, fertilizer, or pesticides into the soil. The device includes a proximal end and a spiked distal end, whereby the proximal end includes a reservoir and a removable cap, and the spiked distal end includes an elongated shaft having a plurality of apertures and a distal tip configured for insertion into the soil surface. In use, the device is inserted into the ground with a mallet or similar device and the cap is removed. The reservoir is filled with a solution, which then gravity fed into the spiked distal end for distribution through the apertures of the elongated shaft and into the soil. The present invention distributes pesticides, plant food, or water into the ground, helps to fertilize soil to ensure proper plant growth, and controls the drainage of the solution into the ground.

The pipe is arranged along the first part and connected between the water storage space and the room. The pipe has a plurality of apertures distributed over the wall thereof. By using principles of differential-pressure and siphon, the water and fertilizer automatically move and are supplied to the plants so as to save time, expenses and efforts.

The photosynthetic grow modules are typically adapted to stack and interlock one atop another, without requiring additional framework or other support structure. Each photosynthetic grow module can include its own heat pump for independent heating and cooling of individual modules, and the units can have a coating within which ceramic microspheres and aluminum flakes are embedded. Lighting systems can include fluorescent lamps combined with LED lamps.

The impact absorbing portion resides solely within the collar. The protective cover further includes a cap disposed at the second end of the collar. The cap has a surface area of about sixteen square inches.
