Abstract: An apparatus for processing and dispensing incendiary capsules is provided. The apparatus includes a hollow tube which serves as a cylinder within which is located a reciprocal piston or a plurality of co-axially mounted pistons driven by a cam. When this coordinated cycle begins with the piston assembly in its full-down position, and the cam assembly is then rotated 360 degrees, the piston assembly will proceed to its full-up position and then back to its full-down position. During this cycle, the following occurs in order: (1) an incendiary is received and enclosed within the piston assembly, that incendiary is then (2) pierced by a needle, then (3) injected with reactant, then (4) the needle is withdrawn from the incendiary, and finally (5) the incendiary is expelled from the cylinder. The feeder is operatively connected with the cam-piston assembly and feeds each individual incendiary into the piston assembly.

Abstract: Methods using vane electrostatic precipitators collect charged and uncharged particles with vane assemblies that are physically arranged to reduce the air flow rate to at or below 1.0 ft/sec (0.305 m/sec). In preferred embodiments, the main entrained air is divided into smaller proportions by using a plurality of vane assemblies in a vane electrostatic precipitator operating at a specific angle that have discharge electrodes in front of the vanes. This results in both the particles being charged and the flow rate of the air and articles being reduced as they traverse between vanes and over the vane surface. The vane width, operating angle, vane length and vane offset are designed to reduce the air flow rate. As a result, at the ends of the vanes, a high percentage of the air flow is less than 1 ft/s.

Abstract: Processes for converting organic material into renewable fuel products. A feedstock containing organic material is processed at an elevated pressure and temperature to lyse, decarboxylate, and carbonize cell structures. A portion of the processed slurry may be recirculated and mixed with cool, pressurized feedstock prior to reaching a mechanical mixing device to preheat and reduce the viscosity of the feedstock. The pressure and temperature are reduced, which may occur simultaneously to flash volatile materials, such as ammonia, out of the slurry, thereby reducing the presence of the materials in the final product and allowing recovery of the materials. The processed slurry may be treated with a halide to reduce mercury emissions in the final product. The treated slurry is mechanically and thermally dewatered resulting in a renewable fuel product in dried particulate or pelletized form that is a viable energy source having a positive heating value.

Abstract: An incineration grate includes several levels including first and second grate bars arranged in rows alongside one another and in rows one above another, forming step-shaped combustion surfaces with their upper supporting surfaces. At least once in an area of the upper supporting surfaces, the first grate bars form, over their width, a smaller supporting surface for fuel than that of the second grate bars via a first shoulder disposed inwards in a direction of a longitudinal center plane. In an area of the upper supporting surfaces, the second grate bars have a supporting surface with a larger width in order to form an overlap with the first grate bars via a second shoulder disposed outwards over the width of the first grate bars. The second grate bars have at least one pin configured to be introduced into a pocket in the first grate bars and increase the larger width.
