Abstract: A method and system for analyzing patterns in the relationships of notes of an input piece of music. The method comprises generating a set of the most frequently occurring note pitches in ascending pitch order that matches an interval pattern, and detecting out-of-key pitches that lie outside of this interval pattern. One or more potential key sequence bifurcations are identified which represent a list of possible key sequences according to forwards and backwards analysis. By finding patterns of repetition in the chordal sequences that may be generated according to these key sequence bifurcations, a key sequence that allows the most frequently recurring chord sequences may be chosen. Chord sequences may be analyzed by using ghost chords, temporary harmonic structures that are created, updated and finalized over time according to a combination of essential and inessential note fragments. The method further comprises identifying non-harmony pitches according to the analyzed chord sequence.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides adaptive methods for gas chromatography analysis of a gas sample comprising one or more target analytes (such as a micro-gas chromatography) and adaptive gas chromatography devices for carrying out such analytical methods. Broadly, the system can regulate flow into a downstream chromatographic column by detecting one or more upstream conditions. For example, one adaptive chromatography device comprises a first column, a modulator component, and a second column. A first detector or sensor detects the presence of target analytes upstream from the second column, while a second detector detects the presence of target analytes eluted from the second column. The modulator component assembly is responsive to an output generated by the first detector and adaptively regulates fluid flow into the second column. Such adaptive chromatography (micro-GC) systems have higher separation speed, better analyte identification capability, and far greater energy savings.

Abstract: A carbon pyrolyzate adsorbent is described that is selective for carbon dioxide in contact with gas mixtures including carbon dioxide and methane. The adsorbent has a carbon dioxide adsorbent capacity at 1 bar pressure of greater than 50 cm3 carbon dioxide per gram of adsorbent at 273K, a methane adsorption capacity at 1 bar pressure of less than 35 cm3 methane per gram of adsorbent at 21° C., and a bulk density of greater than 0.55 gram per cubic centimeter of volume. Such adsorbent can be utilized, for example, for biogas upgrading, natural gas purification, coal bed methane purification, and refining operations.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer module for hydrogen separation using a pressure-resistant chamber so that unit cells using a metal separation membrane through which only hydrogen selectively passes are stacked to improve separation efficiency, and a mixed gas is uniformly supplied into each of the unit cells. In the multilayer module, the unit cells are stacked on each other, and the mixed gas is supplied into the chamber. Also, mixed gas input ports are each disposed in the side surfaces of the unit cells to supply the mixed gas.

Abstract: A sorbent for C02 reduction from indoor air from an enclosed space. In some embodiments, the sorbent comprises a solid support and an amine-based compound being supported by the support. The sorbent captures at least a portion of the C02 within the indoor air. The sorbent may be regenerated by streaming outdoor air through the sorbent to release at least a portion of the captured C02. The sorbent is structured to allow indoor air to flow therein with relatively low flow resistance and relatively rapid reaction kinetics. Regeneration may be performed at relatively low outdoor air temperatures, thereby minimizing the thermal energy required for regenerating the sorbent.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for preparing milk and milk foam in drinks machines, such as coffee machines and similar pieces of equipment, which are provided with a heater unit for heating the milk and/or the milk foam with steam. The system contains, according to the invention, a feed for the milk and/or the milk foam and a separate feed for the steam, which is fed directly, as a heat-transfer medium, into the milk and/or the milk foam in the heater unit, which operates as an injector. The system allows a high heating capacity along with simultaneously good regulating capability and minimized thermal inertia. Since the foaming operation and the heating operation are separated from one another, the quality of the milk foam remains unimpaired by the heating operation.

The container cover is provided with an air extraction mechanism, a vacuum indication assembly, a first switch and a second switch. For the second switch, a control assembly is provided. The first switch and the second switch control the air extraction mechanism to open or close so as to extract the air in the container thorough. The vacuum indication member is to indicate whether the container is in a vacuum state or not for the user to check air leakage. The control assembly automatically controls connection or disconnection of the second switch, so that the air extraction mechanism is automatically started to extract the air in the container when there is air leakage. In this way, the inside of the container can be kept vacuum all the time, providing fresh-keeping and moisture-proof functions.

Abstract: A grill smoker apparatus provides a container and a cover. A carrier is disposed in the container. The carrier is configured to store smoke producing material such as wood chips. The carrier may be removable from the container for filling the container, for emptying the container, for replacing the container or for cleaning the smoker apparatus. The carrier includes an outer dimension smaller than the inner dimension of the container. As such, a carrier gap is defined between the inner container wall and the outer region of the carrier. The carrier gap may form a uniform, annular gap in some embodiments. Alternatively, the carrier gap has a non-uniform radial dimension around the perimeter of the container. The carrier gap provides enhanced airflow to the smoke producing material in the carrier for improving smoker performance. A heat concentrator also focuses heat to the smoker apparatus for igniting the smoke producing material.
