Abstract: An elastic skin suit simulates gravitational loading. By selecting material(s) of appropriate dimensions and appropriate moduli of elasticity, and optionally integrating inelastic portions to maintain a desired surface distribution, the suit can be adapted to impose a loading regime that simulates the loading of terrestrial gravity in a more continuous, shoulder-to-ankle manner than current loading suits.

Abstract: An ergonomic faceguard for a helmet, and a helmet including the ergonomic faceguard; the faceguard including a wire grid having a plurality of horizontal wires. The plurality of horizontal wires includes a horizontal wire configured to extend proximate to a user's chin, the horizontal wire including a pair of lateral sections for engaging a shell of a helmet and a front section extending between the lateral sections, with the lateral sections extending along a common plane and the front section deviating from the plane along which the lateral sections extend. The front section has an anterior point that is elevated at a height that is greater than a height of the lowest point in the front section.

Abstract: A protective shield for protecting a user's hands or feet from harmful ultraviolet rays when a coating composition applied to the user's fingernails or toenails during a manicure or pedicure is cured by an ultraviolet curing system. The protective shield includes a thin elastomeric or polymeric sheet of material impregnated with an ultraviolet blocking composition. The protective shield is provided with five or more slits, allowing the ends of the user's digits to be inserted through separate slits, ensuring that only the user's fingernails or toenails would be subjected to the ultraviolet rays produced by the ultraviolet curing system, while protecting the user's hands or feet from the ultraviolet rays. The protective shield is designed to cover a user's hand or foot while allowing the user's fingernails or toenails to protrude from separate slits provided near the end of the shield, while the slits rest firmly under the cuticles of the user's fingernails or toenails.

Abstract: A joint protector for protecting a human user's knee or elbow from injury is provided with an internally hollowed body formed of a shock absorbing foam material; two opposite sleeves formed of fabric and sewn to a periphery of the body; two flexible inner tubes disposed in the sleeves respectively; and a plurality of plastic cords disposed in each inner tube. The joint protector can increase resistance to slip when it is worn on the knee or the elbow.

Abstract: A casual aesthetic garment constructed with hidden panels of padded material. The padding is some kind of open or closed cell foam. The outer fabric is comprised of a blend or non-blended fabric comprising cotton and/or polyester. The padding is affixed to the inside of the garment to be hidden from the outside of the garment, to give the appearance of the user not wearing a padded garment. The internal pads are affixed, and cannot be removed, to ensure the user is more protected then when not having any pads present.

Abstract: A safety device comprising a body portion secured to the torso of a swimmer and having support straps and a handle to permit an instructor to provide support for the swimmer is disclosed. The safety device may be used for a variety of purposes, such as teaching individuals how to swim. During use, an instructor or other individual may provide support and/or guidance for the swimmer by lifting or pulling on the handle. The device may be constructed to provide both freedom of movement for the swimmer and direct contact with the instructor, thereby allowing for a safe, yet challenging, learning experience.

Abstract: Athletic apparel is configured to apply resistance to a human user having a first arm, a second arm, a first leg and a second leg. The athletic apparel includes a shirt further comprising performance fabric formed into a sleeves and a body having rigid fabric collar. A first front resistance band, a first rear resistance band, a first front arm band, a first rear arm band and a first shoulder resistance band are attached to the shirt and configured to render resistance onto the first arm within the shirt. A second front resistance band, a second rear resistance band, a second front arm band, a second rear arm band and a second shoulder resistance band are attached to the shirt and configured to render resistance onto the second arm within the shirt.

Abstract: A firefighter and tactical harness can be worn as a belt. If a situation arises that leg loops are desired, the firefighter and tactical harness includes a pair of pouches that can be ripped open to release the leg loops. The leg loops may each be fastened around the appropriate leg and clipped together via standard quick-connect buckles.

Abstract: A garment including a trunk portion and a pair of leg portions extending from the trunk portion. An opening extends along the trunk portion between a distal trunk opening and along the leg portions to distal ends of the leg portions for facilitating donning and doffing the garment by receiving a user within the trunk opening and leg openings. The opening extends along the leg portions on a pair of paths which avoid a kneecap portion, an inside leg portion, and an area between the kneecap portion and the inside leg portion, of each leg portion.

Abstract: An innovative sleeping suit for infants, configured to provide warmth, a contained environment, and positive proprioceptive input, and thereby reduce neurological reflexive twitching or habitual waking patterns prevalent when infants are placed on their backs for sleeping and are not swaddled. The weighting in the suit is believed to reduce the neurological reflexive twitching and provides a swaddling effect to infants helping them to fall asleep and remain sleeping when on their backs. At least a portion of an anterior portion of the suit includes the weighting. The weighting may be accomplished by varying the thickness of the materials and/or quantity of layers of materials used on the anterior portion of the suit. The weighting may be distributed uniformly throughout the suit, the anterior portion of the suit, or can be strategically placed at proprioceptive target points along the anterior portion of the suit.

Abstract: Hooded prayer shawl is a prayer shawl that may feature a permanently attached hood or a removable hood. The prayer shawl is used in various Jewish traditions, with the novel addition of a hood to maintain relative placement on the head of a user. The shawl may be rectangular with a top edge of the shawl being where the hood is attached (attachable). The shawl features (decorative) knots and fringes along the edges and tzitzith at the corners according to the various religious customs in Jewish practice.

Abstract: An interchangeable cumberbund with integrated wiring to allow for connecting a variety of electronic devices for an intended purpose or mission and exchanging a configured garment for another. The reconfigurable cumberbund allows for multiple quick-disconnect cable harnesses to be weaved into the cumberbund which enables rapid and convenient removal of hardware that incorporates all I/O to a computer. The reconfigurable cumberbund connected to a wearable tactical vest containing a mobile ultra-rugged personal computer is the essential combination that allows hands-free use by the user.

Abstract: A cough catching apparatus includes a body for securing to a hand of an individual, the body having an outer surface, an area on the outer surface having a material thereon, and a disinfectant infused into the material. The body may be a glove body. The glove body may have an opening for inserting a hand into the glove body and a plurality of finger openings. The area may be a palm area, a top of hand area, or may include both a palm area and a top of hand area.

Abstract: A multi-function glove that has attached a wrist band, a little finger sheath, a ring finger sheath and a truncated sheath that fits into a middle finger, an index finger and the thumb. The glove has attached a side-hinged viewing flap that covers a paper pad such as a POST-IT® paper pad. The glove also has attached a zippered pocket that extends vertically from the little finger sheath to the wrist band. The pocket is dimensioned to conveniently store and remove a writing implement. The middle finger, index finger and thumb projecting from the truncated cavities allow the writing implement to be easily grasped and maneuvered.

Abstract: The disclosure herein provides compact portable head supporting devices that secure a user's head in a position sufficient to enhance the user's comfort in a seated position. A head supporting device comprises a first member configured to be at least partially sandwiched between a user and a seat, a support apparatus configured to support a head of the user relative to the first member, and a coupling member configured to couple the support apparatus to the first member, the coupling member further configured to enable repositioning of the support apparatus with respect to the first member.

Abstract: A deformable and self-adjustable mask structure is provided, which comprises a goggle, a facial cover connected to the surrounding of the goggle. The facial cover has a plurality of mask fragments and adhesive strips connected with the mask fragments. The mask is a self-adjustable mask. The mask of this invention can integrally connect the plural mask fragments, which are provided according to the shape of face, together by adhesive strips so as to provide the mask with the function of self-adjustment and deformation. Not only it is easy to carry and wear but also its overall dimension can be automatically adjusted according to the dimension of different person's face and different expression. Accordingly, comfortability to wear and adaptability of mask can be increased.

Abstract: The adjustable air inlet for clothing is of particular value to those wearing heavy protective clothing in warmer conditions, such as motorcyclists wearing leather protective apparel. The adjustable air inlet is installed in a passage through the clothing where it may be aligned with ambient airflow, e.g., along the forearm, upper thigh, shoulder, or on the back of a glove or on a boot. Inner and outer flanges are installed along the edges of the hole, the outer flange securing a resilient scoop over the hole. A duct is preferably provided from the trailing end of the scoop within the clothing to an area of the body that is most benefitted by the airflow. The scoop is normally open, but may be closed by a latch extending from the forward part of the outer flange. A cooling insert may be installed within the scoop for additional comfort.

Abstract: A liner assembly for a protective helmet which includes a wrap-around pad designed to be engaged to the inner surface of a helmet. The wrap-around pad has multiple substantially circular cells spaced along a curved line around the inner surface. The assembly also has a crown pad and two jaw pads. Each jaw pad is an cell L-shaped cell. Each cell is made of an inner sheet, an outer sheet and multiple, outwardly-projecting hollow protrusions.

Abstract: An external fluid voiding apparatus that may be configured for either female or male use includes a container, a conduit and a vacuum device, which define a urine drainage passage. The vacuum device may be deformed externally so as to create a vacuum effect inside the apparatus when the apparatus is fitted around the female's vulval region or the male's penis. The vacuum effect facilitates drawing urine from a reservoir of the container to the vacuum device through the conduit. The urine may be collected and stored in the vacuum device. A user may drain the urine collected inside the vacuum device through a drainage port. Alternatively, a user may disconnect a used vacuum device and replace it with a clean one.

Abstract: The tool for cleaning a drain includes a handle, a strip member, and an end piece. The handle inserts and removes the tool from the drain. The strip member has an elongated and undulated shape and is formed by segments. Each segment has a curvature with a concave side and convex side, which alternate from adjacent segments. Each segment also has barbs on each concave side. The barbs are shielded by an adjacent convex side of an adjacent segment. The end piece connects to a bottom segment of the strip member and has a collar and tip. The collar has a protective shoulder to shield barbs of the bottom segment and an actuatable spike to collect debris when bent. The tip has a distal point with prongs and a distal shoulder, which shields the prongs. The tip may also include a shaft with shaft barbs protected by a shaft shoulder.

Abstract: A device used to conceal at least a portion of a wastewater strainer associated with a bathtub. More specifically, a plate having an opening therethrough is used to overlap a flange of the wastewater strainer wherein the opening in the plate generally coincides with an opening in the wastewater strainer so that the bathtub drain is unobstructed. The plate may include a downwardly extending lip to help facilitate orientation onto the flange of the wastewater strainer. The plate conceals the wastewater strainer, thereby facilitating reconfiguration of a bathtub as the existing wastewater strainer need not be removed and the plumbing system retested.

The bucket may be removable and a towel holder may provided on one side of the top surface. Further in one particular embodiment, wheels may be provided on each leg.

Abstract: This invention is a distinctive plastic receptacle or bath. This bath is made from clear or coloured supple PVC plastic and the body of the bath is held upright and in place by a lightweight structure that consists of parts that can be connected and taken apart again, so that the bath becomes collapsible. This means that the bath can easily be folded away and transported. It is meant to be used as a bath for camping, or any other temporary use, where such a structure would be very useful, such a temporary fish tank.

Abstract: This invention relates to a body lifting device for use in combination with a bed. Conducting tubes are disposed at a side of the bed and near a patient's shoulder, hip, and knees, and is supported by the bed. Lifting rods are disposed each into one of the conducting tubes. The upper ends of the lifting rods are fixed to a lifting handle of a lifting mechanism. During use, the lifting mechanism or a fabric is placed under the patient; a driving mechanism pushes up the lifting rods to lift the patient. Thus, it's convenient for a nurse to replace bedding and take a bath for the patient. Also, it's beneficial for keeping air flowing through under the patient and avoiding bedsores. The body lifting device in combination with a bed solves a series of problems in elderly and patient care, makes elderly and patient care easier, and provides overall care for the patient.

Abstract: A bed device includes: an operation section that receives an operation input; a controller that controls a movement of the bed in accordance with the operation input; a detector that detects a position of a patient on the bed; and, a limitation table that stores a limitation area set on the bed in association with a limitation content, wherein when the position of the patient detected by the detector is included in the limitation area, the limitation content is read out from the limitation table so as to control the controller in accordance with the limitation content. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a higher safety bed device which can not only notify the danger based on the bed movement but also limit the movement of the bed in accordance with the status of the patient or the bed device.

Abstract: This disclosure concerns an adjustable bed with a deck-on-deck appearance. A concealing assembly is attached to the center frame of an articulating bed, wherein the concealing assembly is situated below the mattress platform and conceals the base frame as the center frame moves along the base frame when the bed articulates. In other embodiments, such as for non-wall hugger beds where the center frame is stationary, a concealing assembly may still be used but will also be stationary.

A polymer fiber structure is introduced in a first state to the innerspring to provide an assembly. The assembly is further processed and the polymer fiber structure is simultaneously altered from the first state to a second state.

Abstract: A whacker tool may include a bar having one end with a wedge head and another end with a spoon head. The wedge head may include a V-shaped notch that bifurcates the wedge head into two legs. The spoon head may include a convex working surface and a concave working surface that face away from each other. A J-hook can be provided on the bar and the base of the spoon head. A pair of stops may be provided at spaced apart locations on the bar and located between the wedge head and the J-hook. A slide hammer can be mounted on the bar for movement between the stops. The slide hammer can be pounded against the stops stop to provide impact drive forces on the wedge head and the spoon head, and impact pulling forces on the J-hook.
