Abstract: Methods performed by printing systems (10) are described herein. An ink printhead (38, 40, 42, 44) and a treatment printhead (46, 48) traverse over a print area (84) in a forward direction (50) and a backward direction (52). In one of the forward direction or the backward direction the treatment printhead trails behind the ink printhead. In the other direction the treatment printhead leads before the ink printhead. The treatment printhead ejects treatment fluid for treating the print area depending on the traversing direction. Printing systems (10) and tangible machine readable storage media (64) are also described herein.

Abstract: Method and device for printing the surface of a medium with an inkjet printer by performing several printing cycles. The printer includes a printing module with a printhead having a row of nozzles. A printing cycle includes: a) positioning and aligning the printing module prior to printing, wherein the alignment is performed by rotation of the printing module around a rotation axis that is perpendicular on the part of the surface to be printed, and b) positioning the rotation axis during printing. The positioning process in steps b) includes translation of the rotation axis and defines a direction of travel. The printing module is aligned in step a) by rotation around the axis so that the row of nozzles has in step b) a predetermined and preferably constant angle in respect of the direction of travel. A predetermined workflow of printing cycles is different from a scanning technique.

The recording step includes a first discharging step, in which the recording head is manipulated to discharge the ink toward a targeted position on the sheet along a scanning direction at a first discharging timing, and a second discharging step, in which the recording head is manipulated to discharge the ink toward the targeted position on the sheet at a second discharging timing which is deviated from the first discharging timing. The farther the targeted position is separated from a reference position on the sheet along the main scanning direction, the more largely the second discharging timing is deviated from the first discharging timing.

Abstract: A liquid ejection head includes an electrical wiring substrate and a printing element substrate, wherein the position variation of the printing element substrate due to curing of a sealing agent is eliminated. Specifically, a gap between two support members is covered with the electrical wiring substrate so as to be able to prevent a first sealing agent from flowing into this gap. As a result, even in the case where the size of the gap varies due to the variation in the dimensional accuracy and/or the variation in the assembly accuracy, the first sealing agent will not enter this gap, and therefore the shape thereof can be made substantially uniform regardless of the positions. This results in a substantially uniform stress in curing and contracting of the first sealing agent, and the variation in the mounting position of the printing element substrate can be suppressed.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a web optimized user device is provided. The web optimized device reduces complexity and facilitates interaction with web-based services and content. The web optimized device can be configured without a hard drive, facilitating integration of web-based services into a computing experience. The web optimized device presents a user interface that integrates video chat functionality into every aspect of the computer content accessed. In particular, a display manager manages the user interface presented and integrates video chat displays and features into the content displays in a content and/or context aware manner. These displays permit a user to intuitively interact with the video chat content and features while the user changes content, for example, web-based services, web-based applications, and other media content, without interruption of or interference from the video chat content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the pairing of room systems, and other systems that lack portability and a convenient user interface, to videoconferences are disclosed herein. In one embodiment of the disclosed subject matter, a user initiates room system pairing from his or her device. For example, the user can press a button on a remote control associated with the room system to set the system to pairing mode. The room system can register with a server that is controlling the videoconferencing system, which in turn can display the room system in a list of available room systems on the user's device. The user can have the option to select the particular room system, instructing the server to add the room system to the conference.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for treating ulcers based on the photobiostimulation effect to reduce inflammation and enhance microvascular activity accelerating the wound healing process. In a preferred embodiment, a diode laser source emits 1470±60 nm laser energy at about 15 Watts, which is conveyed through an optical fiber and applied onto wound with about a 7 mm spot with a laser pulse preferably set to about 60 msec. An enclosure cap at emission tip confining irradiated area results in enhanced personnel safety. A standalone handheld laser can be used without need of a fiber/handpiece. Additionally a timer or sensing system determines end of radiation treatment. An efficient, rapid, easy and safe treatment of venous, arterial and neurotrophic ulcers, chronic and acute, results. In another embodiment, a special technique is used with a point to point laser appliance, irradiating an area of about 1-2 cm out beyond the edges of the ulcers.
