Abstract: The new blueberry plant variety ‘Last Call’ is provided. ‘Last Call’ is a commercial variety intended for both the fresh and process markets. The variety produces a large, light blue berry with exceptional flavor and firmness. ‘Last Call’ fruit ripens at the same time as the latest season commercial cultivars ‘Elliott’ and ‘Aurora’ but has a sweeter flavor that was preferred in blind taste tests. The variety has a vigorous bush that had higher yields than ‘Aurora’ in 2011-2012 in Oregon (yields were observed but not measured in 2010). The fruit of ‘Last Call’ had better firmness than ‘Elliott’ before and after storage (measured with a Firmtech 2 fruit firmness tester). ‘Last Call’ is a vigorous plant with an upright growth habit, and an estimated chilling requirement of 1000 hours based on pedigree.
Abstract: Malus domestica Borkh ‘Stark Gugger’ variety is distinguished from the ‘Starking Delicious’ variety and other Red Delicious varieties by the a unique combination of characteristics including purple red fruits with solid flush coloration on 100% of the surface, a fruit shape that is long truncated-conical with pronounced crowning at distal end, fruit coloration that starts 10 days earlier than other Red Delicious varieties; an anticipation of fruit maturation of 5-7 days compared to other Red Delicious variety and a growth habit that is standard (not spur) 20% stronger than other Red Delicious standard.

Abstract: A microelectromechanical gyroscope having a microstructure that includes a first mass and a second mass, wherein the first mass is oscillatable according to a first axis and the second mass is constrained to the first mass so as to be drawn along by the first mass according to the first axis and to oscillate according to a second axis, in response to a rotation of the microstructure, a driving device coupled to the microstructure to maintain the first mass in oscillation at the driving frequency, and a reading device that detects displacements of the second mass according to the second axis. The gyroscope is provided with a self-test actuation system coupled to the second mass for applying an electrostatic force at the driving frequency so as to move the second mass according to the second axis.

Abstract: A binary exploding target package, a process of forming an exploding target from the contents of the binary exploding target package, and the exploding target formed therefrom. The binary exploding target package includes a first, target container and a second container. An oxidizer composition is contained within one of the containers and a catalyst composition is contained within the other container. An exploding target is formed by mixing the oxidizer and catalyst compositions, and introducing the mixture into the target container to form an exploding target just prior to using the exploding target as a target for a shooting exercise.
Abstract: A hand crank generator includes a crank, a gear transmission, and a generation motor generator driven by the gear transmission. The crank and the gear transmission are coupled to each other. A clutch gear is coupled between the crank and the gear transmission. The crank is manually driven to further drive the gear transmission, and the generation motor generator is driven to generate electric current through the clutch gear. When the cranking stops, the clutch gear disengages from a motor generator gear disposed on the generation motor generator. A weighted wheel continues to revolve under inertia for a while to drive the generation motor generator to keep on generating electric current, so that the purpose of saving manual efforts can be achieved.
