This light emitting device comprises a light emission means 4 for emitting light containing wavelength components to be output, and a semi-reflecting layer group 2 wherein semi-reflecting layers 2R, 2G, and 2B that transmit some light having specific wavelengths emitted from the light emission means and reflect the remainder are stacked up in order in the direction of light advance in association with wavelengths of light to be output. Light emission regions AR, AG, and AB are determined in association with the wavelengths of light to be output.

Abstract: Provided is a guidewire including a core shaft, an outer flexible tube, and an inner flexible tube that surrounds a distal end portion of the core shaft. A first joint is formed so as to join the distal end of the inner flexible tube to the core shaft. At least one second joint is formed so as to join the outer flexible tube to the inner flexible tube. The at least one second joint is positioned between the first joint and the proximal end of the core shaft.

Abstract: Illegitimate use of IP addresses is counteracted. A network (1) includes a switch (5) with ports (P1,P2,P3) to subscribers (6,6A) and a port (PN) to a core network (2) with DHCP servers (4, 4a,4b). The switch includes a database (MAC1, MAC2), port numbers (P1, P2)) and VLAN identities (VLAN1, VLAN2) for the subscribers (6, 6A) and the filter has a list over trusted DHCP servers. Initially onlY DHCP messages from the subscribers are allowed. When the subscriber (6) requests (M1, M3) for an IP address it is checked that it is a DHCP message with valid subscriber values (MAC1, P1, VLAN1). A respond (M2, M4) with an allocated IP address (IP1) and lease time interval (T1) is checked to come from a trusted DHCP server. If so, a list in the filter (9) with correct information is dynamically generated (MAC1, P1, VLAN1, IP1, T1). A message (M5) from the subscriber (6) with false IP address is discarded by the filter. Attempts by the subscriber to use false IP address are counted and a warning signal is generated.

Abstract: User-friendly welding helmet assembly configurations to be worn on the head of a weldor are disclosed. The welding helmet assembly configurations include various advanced features including a spatter shield that is easily replaceable from an external front portion of a shell of the helmet assembly configuration, and an adjustable ratchet headgear within the shell having a repositionable lever adapted to easily adjust a detent position of the ratchet headgear with respect to the shell. Other user-friendly features are also provided, in accordance with various embodiments of the present invention.

Abstract: A medical garment formed of a central body region and two side regions with a pair of belts and a pair of fasteners for securing the garment around a patient's body is provided. The central body region may be worn on the back or front and may have a v-neck form. A waistband extends across the central body region and across one side region with a first belt secured at the junction of the central region and the second side region and extending to the outer edge of the first side region. The second belt extends from the secured end of the first belt through the waistband across the central body region, the second belt exiting the waistband at the junction of the second side region and central body region. A first fixed tie is positioned at the outer edge of the second side region along the position of the waistband. A second fixed tie is secured to the inside of the waistband between the central body region and first side region.

Abstract: A collapsible interactive personal privacy shelter for changing into and out of clothing and wet suits may be used in association with cold water activities, which is portable and convenient for use in both cold and warm climates. The preferred embodiment is of non see through, water resistant, translucent textile, partially insulated, trapezoidal in shape, having a triangular shaped flexible rubber pedestal and foam rubber changing matt. The textile is open at the top with a draw cord insulated hood, and forms an enclosure resting upon a user's shoulders, and is entered through a zippered opening running vertically down the front. Openings on either side of the enclosure are covered by wind flaps open on one side secured by hook and loop fastener.

Alternatively, the underwear may comprise hooks that are adapted to hold and maintain a pair of pants at a fixed distance from the waistline, and pockets for holding a user's belongings. Abstract: A user assistance apparatus and system is disclosed. The apparatus and system may include a base and a platform rotatably positionable about the base. A lift assist chair may be disposed upon the platform, and handrails may be attached to the platform such that the handrails rotate with the platform. The handrails extend from the platform to define an entry, and the handrails are configured to assist a user as the user passes between the entry and the lift assist chair. Fixtures may be disposed in a generally curved arrangement to cooperate with the entry as the platform is rotatably positioned about the base. Related methods of use are also disclosed.

Abstract: An uneven surface assistance device is disclosed including a first leg assembly and a second leg assembly having a length different. The assemblies are connected directly or indirectly to a supporting platform and are movable with respect to the supporting platform between a first lockable position orthogonal to the supporting platform and a stored position parallel to the supporting platform. The device further includes a transverse support connected to the supporting platform generally in between the first leg assembly and the second leg assembly. The support connects to a first arm connected to the first leg assembly where the first arm is parallel to the supporting platform when the first leg is in the stored position and the support further connects to a second arm connected to the second leg assembly where the second arm is parallel to the supporting platform when the second leg is in the stored position.

Abstract: A push board device and method of use is disclosed for supporting an individual's lower body while the patient is in a prone position and exerting force on the device to slide along a bed surface. The device comprises a lower leg press member attached to an elongated board member, where the board connects to the side rails of a patient bed and the leg press member provides a location for which the patient to support themselves during sliding movement. Embodiments of the leg press member include a solid, rounded member or a tubular member having an open interior to provide storage for a low friction sliding sheet therein. The board member is positioned between two side rails of a hospital bed or similar structure to allow the user to securely push against the device. The low friction sheet assists in movement of an individual and reduces resistance.

Abstract: The Device to Assist Paraplegics with Getting Dressed is designed to lift a person that has a spinal cord injury or minimal use of their legs above the seat of a wheel chair, or a toilet seat, allowing easy slipping on or off of the pants. The device may be wall mounted wall adjacent to a seating fixture. The device may be mounted on a “free standing” frame, which may have wheels to make it easy to move around and may easily fold up for storage. To use the device a person will, with their arms out to their sides horizontally, put the armpit rest under their arm pit area. On reaching down towards the pants, the armpit rest will turn from horizontal to a vertical position, lifting them up enough to slip the pants on or off.

Abstract: A pillow assembly that utilizes a hood to inhibit certain movements of the head. The pillow assembly utilizes a pillowcase having a top surface and a bottom surface. The pillowcase can be stuffed to become a pillow or can be used to cover a preexisting pillow. A hood structure is sewn onto the pillowcase. The hood structure is sewn onto the pillowcase along a single main seam. The sewing of the hood to the pillowcase along a single seam creates features in the hood structure that are beneficial to the comfortable restraint of the user's head. Furthermore, the hood structure has a forward opening, a hood apex, and a rear seam that extends from the apex down to the single main seam. The rear seam also helps to reinforce the hood structure so it can better prevent unintentional movements of the user's head.

Abstract: A fitted sheet that is particularly well suited for use on a small mattress such as a child's sleeping mattress has elastic on some, but less than all, of its bottom surface periphery. The portion without elastic is wider than the portion with elastic, and defines a pocket part. A first end of the mattress is inserted into the pocket part. The pocket part holds the mattress securely while the elasticized portion is stretched and slipped over the remainder of the mattress. The pocket part not only allows for easier insertion of the mattress into that part, but also serves as a visual index that allows the user to easily identify which part of the sheet goes on which part of the mattress.

Abstract: A bed frame with a support structure has a rigid structural frame for carrying an articulating structure for an adjustable bed. The support structure extends substantially to the extents of the articulating structure in an unarticulated position and has a padded bolster. The bolster incorporates a mounting support attached to the structural frame and a resilient foam bumper received on the mounting support with a fabric covering surrounding the bumper and fastened to the mounting support. The articulating structure includes rigid planar supports having edges with a surrounding resilient foam layer having a fabric covering secured to the planar support. The bumper and foam layer are resilient to deform upon contact with an intruding appendage inserted between them. For an exemplary embodiment, an electrical outlet is mounted in a housing which penetrates the support frame, mounting support and bumper.

Abstract: A layered cushion that may be fully disassembled for easy cleaning is disclosed herein. The sleep system is durable and fire retardant. The layered cushion may include a foam layer, a layer of void cells, and a cover. The foam permits fluids to move freely there through and contours to a user's body to maximize comfort and reduce interface pressure. The reticulated foam layer resists compression set and thermosetting. The layer of void cells also permits fluids to move freely there through and provide additional support to the user's body. The individual void cells of the void cell layer are perforated to allow the transmission of fluids there through. The cover couples the other layers together to form the layered cushion and prevents the layers from deteriorating. The cover is removable to permit cleaning each of the layers independently.

A brush for use in removing silks is mounted on one side of the base, and a cutter is mounted on the other side. When it is desired to use the tool on one side instead of the other, the cover is placed over the other tool. The cover then is used as an easy-to-grip palm-fitting structure to push the brush or the cutter along the ear of corn.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a system and method for operating a pressure-driven pool cleaner. The system includes a hydraulic timer assembly and a venturi vacuum assembly. The method includes directing water to the hydraulic timer assembly and the venturi vacuum assembly, driving the pressure-driven pool cleaner with the hydraulic timer assembly according to a timed movement cycle including a combination of backward movement and forward movement, and suctioning debris with the venturi vacuum assembly. The venturi vacuum assembly is independent of the hydraulic timer assembly so that suctioning occurs during the backward movement and the forward movement.

An actuating element formed on the upper body is configured to engage with a lever linkage assembly of the adjusting mechanism as the upper body is moved to the parked position.

Abstract: In a grommet for a vehicle floor cover, receptacles formed in a generally cylindrical inner surface of a female tubular body making up part of one grommet portion receive protrusions formed on a generally cylindrical outer surface of a male tubular body making up part of a second grommet portion. The bottom grommet portion may have chamfered gussets formed adjacent a bottom retention flange in order to accommodate vehicle floor mats or trays of different thicknesses. Stud holes created in respective ones of the grommets receive studs of intentionally different shape or orientation, thereby militating against installation of the floor cover upside down.

Abstract: A door stop pin assembly for a housing having a through hole is disclosed. The assembly includes a door stop pin having a body with a base pad attached to one end of the body and a recess formed in the other end of the body, the body having external threads formed in a first threading direction and internal threads formed in the recess in a second threading direction, and a locking screw having external threads also formed in the second threading direction. The external threads of the door stop pin engage internal threads formed on at least one of the through hole or a bushing inserted into the through hole to position the door stop pin relative to the housing. The external threads of the locking screw engage the internal threads of the recess to lock the door stop pin in position. Methods of assembling the same are also disclosed.
