Abstract: Stitched images generated from combinations of multiple separate images mostly have irregular boundaries. Users generally prefer rectangular boundaries. Techniques for warping an image with irregular boundaries to give the image rectangular boundaries are disclosed herein. Preliminary warping of the image into the rectangle provides a rectangular shape on which to overlay a mesh. The image is reverted to its original shape with irregular boundaries and the mesh is warped accordingly. Global optimization is applied to the image by finding an energy minimum, or reduced energy below a threshold, for a function that gives the image a rectangular shape while preserving shapes and preserving straight lines. The mesh is warped according to the solution of the function and the image is stretched and/or compressed along with the mesh. This approach generates results that are qualitatively more visually attractive than other contemporary techniques.

Abstract: Resealable systems for consumer packaging, such as food packaging, are described herein. The system includes one or more anchor points and one or more cling coatings. The anchor points can be introduced into or onto the packaging material during manufacture, such as by co-extrusion. Alternatively, the anchor points can be affixed to the packaging material after manufacture, such as with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The cling coatings can be applied to the packaging material during or after manufacture. For example, the cling coatings can be spot coated or pattern coated onto the desired location. The cling coatings are selective, that is they do not attach to themselves but only attach to the anchor point. The cling coatings transfer little or no material over time resulting in more consistent performance over time than pressure sensitive adhesives.

Abstract: Disclosed is a drawer sliding device. The drawer sliding device is configured such that when a drawer is pulled out, an intermediate rail and an inner rail are moved together. Therefore, the load support capacity of a drawer slide can be enhanced and the drawer can be smoothly pulled out. The drawer sliding device may be designed such that the intermediate rail can be extended to a position above an operating rail. In this case, the range of the operation of the automatic closing means can be increased without a reduction in the structural strength of the rail. Furthermore, in the present invention, the drawer slide is provided with the automatic closing means. Therefore, when the drawer is retracted to a predetermined range or more, the drawer can be automatically retracted to a completely closed position, and the drawer in the closed state can be prevented from being undesirably opened.

Abstract: A hydrodynamic axial bearing is provided with segments arranged on a circular ring on axial bearings, wherein a plurality of pressure fields are built up. The length of the individual segments is defined in the circumferential direction, between a first edge and a second edge. The first edge delimits the wedge surface of the segments. In fast-rotating bearings, the ratio of segment width to segment length has a decisive influence on the attainable load-bearing capacity and resulting friction losses. The load-bearing capacity and friction losses are improved by increasing the segment length more intensely with increasing radius. The first edge does not run straight but rather has steps, is arcuate or has linear portions with different gradients.

Abstract: This disclosure articulates methods for calculating a metric based on actual time period of retention (??) in a given video recording system. The measurement is performed on a per-camera-stream basis for each camera stream being recorded on a system. The metric is related to Video Retention Compliance (VRC), which is another key performance indicators of video surveillance applications, as it is tied to a business and, sometimes, regulatory requirement of an organization. This disclosure describes methods of calculating retention for each camera stream recording on a server, and doing so in an efficient enough way so as to be practical for ongoing operations.

Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) audio content creation and rendering systems and methodologies are presented here. A disclosed method of processing 3D audio assigns audio source objects to 3D video objects, links audio tracks to assigned audio source objects, and performs wave field synthesis on the linked audio tracks to generate 3D audio data representing a 3D spatial sound field. A disclosed method of processing 3D audio during playback of 3D video content obtains 3D audio data and 3D video data for a frame of 3D video content, applies device-specific parameters to the 3D audio data to obtain transformed 3D audio data scaled to a presentation device, and processes the transformed 3D audio data to render audio information for an array of speakers associated with the presentation device.
