Abstract: An inner ring of a fluid flow machine includes fixing rings and seal carriers split into at least two fixing ring segments and into at least two seal carrier segments, respectively. The fixing ring segments and the seal carrier segments are arranged with the respective end faces facing each other. A first fixing ring segment has a first ring segment shoulder and a second fixing ring segment has an offset second ring segment shoulder. A first seal carrier segment has a first carrier segment shoulder, and a second seal carrier segment has a second carrier segment shoulder, which is offset with respect to the first carrier segment shoulder. In a separation plane of the inner ring, the first carrier segment shoulder abuts the second ring segment shoulder at the end face. Also in the separation plane, the second carrier segment shoulder abuts the first ring segment shoulder at the end face.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a portable source of air flow. The apparatus provides a base on casters, a support member coupled to the base, and a panel connected to the support member. The panel comprises at least one plate containing a plurality of apertures to expel air traveling from the blower. The panel position is adjustable relative to the base and the apparatus is free-standing and portable. The device is effective for people in need of a constant air source. The mobility allows the device to move with the person as he or she gets dressed, returns to bed rest, or simply desires a controlled temperature while walking into another room. The device can be positioned directly next to an individual, or if necessary positioned above. The adjustable panel position allows the panel to have directional air flow in ways not possible with conventional air systems.

Abstract: A system may include at least one computer device configured to attain a two-dimensional used profile of a leading edge at a specified radial position on a turbomachine airfoil after use. The system aligns opposing substantially straight alignment portions of the two-dimensional used profile with opposing substantially straight alignment portions of a previously attained, two-dimensional, baseline profile of the turbomachine airfoil. The alignment portions of each profile are in substantially identical radial locations of the turbomachine airfoil. Comparing the used profile to the baseline profile determines whether the leading edge at the specified radial position of the used turbomachine airfoil has erosion. The system may also include a laser profiler for measuring the turbomachine airfoil.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electric fan. The electric fan includes a casing, a rotary unit and a cover. The casing has a frame shape such that a first opening is formed in a central portion of the casing. An inlet hole and an outlet hole are respectively formed in inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the frame. A space is defined in the casing. The rotary unit includes an impeller installed in the space, and a drive unit. The rotary unit is configured such that when the impeller is rotated by the drive unit, external air is drawn into the space through the inlet hole and then discharged out of the space through an outlet hole. The cover is installed on a front part of the casing in a direct contact manner. The cover defines a second opening communicating with the first opening so that air supplied from the outlet hole is discharged out of the second opening.

Abstract: A compressor and an air conditioner having the compressor, and a protective cover of a connecting terminal of the compressor is installed while spaced apart from a barrier of the connecting terminal. The protective cover is additionally provided with a noise preventing member. Vibration generated from the compressor is delivered to the protective cover via the barrier, but as the protective cover is provided to be spaced apart from the barrier, the vibration is delivered to the barrier through the noise preventing member. Thus, regardless of the state of vibration of the compressor, noise being generated by the protective cover is minimized.

The cylinder is disposed inside the pump body and having one end immediately adjacent to the fuel chamber. The cylinder has an inner threaded portion formed on an inner wall of the cylinder at the one end. The plunger is disposed inside the cylinder and is reciprocally movable in an axial direction to change a volume of a pressurizing chamber within which the fuel supplied from the fuel chamber is pressurized. The plug is screwed into the inner threaded portion of the cylinder from the fuel chamber in the axial direction and closing the one end of the cylinder. The plug has an end surface that faces an end surface of the plunger and defines the pressurizing chamber together with the end surface of the plunger. The end surface of the plug is parallel to the end surface of the plunger.
