Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of beta zeolite in animal feed as a toxin binder. The beta zeolites, which contain 12 membered ring systems with Bronsted and Lewis acidic sites, have high binding efficacy against common toxins present in animal feed. This study aimed to evaluate the binding efficacy of The disclosed H beta zeolite (HBZ) has high binding efficiecy against major mycotoxins such as aflatoxin B1, ochratoxin A (OTA), zearalenone, mycophenolic acid, cyclopiazonic acid, Fumonisin B1, T-2 and patulin.

Abstract: A system for enhancing the growth of aquatic life that includes first and second raceways that both extend from an inlet to an outlet with a channel therebetween and hold water. The raceways are in side by side relation and are in fluid communication with one another. The first raceway has a living food source within the water and the second raceway has aquatic life within the water. Lighting assemblies are provided in each raceway to enhance both the living food source and the aquatic life by using predetermined wavelengths of light.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for browning a surface of a food product when heated in a microwave oven comprising the steps of i) coating the surface with a composition comprising an edible oil; ii) overlaying the coating of step i) with a second coating comprising an edible chemical base; and iii) heating the food product in a microwave oven with the use of a susceptor for a time period sufficient to brown the surface of said food product. Further aspects of the invention are food products obtainable by the present method either before or after the heating step.
