Abstract: In accordance with one implementation, a sole construction includes a flexible membrane in a forefoot region of the sole construction. The flexible membrane interconnects a first rigid plate to a second rigid plate along a longitudinal axis of the sole construction. The flexible membrane is adapted to flex in the forefoot region responsive to a contact force, causing the first rigid plate to move relative to the second rigid plate.

Abstract: The invention relates to a sport shoe and particularly to its midsole construction. The midsole construction comprises a flexible body element, which extends essentially over the entire length of the sole of the foot, a flexible heel element located under the body element, which extends from under the calcaneus at least partly into the area of the cuboid bone, and a plate-like stiffener element located at least partly between the body element and the heel element. According to the invention, the stiffener element extends from the heel area forwards farther on the lateral side of the sole of the foot than on the medial side of the sole of the foot. A more natural and economical stride is achieved with the aid of the invention.

Abstract: There is provided an outsole for shoe in which air circulation and impact absorption are simultaneously achieved, which is comprised of a space (140) formed between an elastic plate (114) of an upper sole (110) and an upper surface (122b) of a bottom sole (120), the elastic tubes (116) vertically arranged and installed in the space, and an adhesive sheet (130) which closes each bottom hole (116b) of the elastic tubes (116) and is fixed to the upper surface (122b) of the bottom sole (120), which has effects that the elastic plate (114) is repeatedly pressed and restored or the elastic tubes (116) are repeatedly deformed and restored so that air within the space (140) is discharged through the vent holes (114a) to ventilate the inside of shoes, that the entire soles of feet have acupressure applied by the elastic tubes (116) maintaining the shape, and that an impact applied to a human body is softened by the elastic tubes (116) deformed and restored.

The tensile strand is located adjacent to an exterior surface of the foundation element and substantially parallel to the exterior surface for a distance of at least five centimeters. The securing strand joins or secures the tensile strand to the foundation element. Although the thicknesses may vary, a thickness of the tensile strand may be at least three times the thickness of the securing strand. In some configurations, a backing strand may also assist with joining the securing strand to the foundation element.

Abstract: A shoelace locking apparatus comprises a body attachable to both ends of a shoelace, a locking lever, and a pin. The body defines a retaining passage therein for receiving the first end of the shoelace and a locking passage therein for receiving a second end of the shoelace. A knot tied in the first end of the shoelace prevents it from passing back through the retaining passage. Within a recess in communication with the locking passage a rotating locking lever is mounted on the pin. By pulling the second end of the shoelace through the locking passage past the locking lever and rotating the locking lever into the locking position, the second end of the shoelace may be immobilized relative to the body. Tension in the shoelace serves to keep the lever in the locked position.
