A second portion configured to support the lateral calcaneus on the lateral side of the foot. A third portion configured to support the fifth metatarsal ray on the lateral side of the foot.

Abstract: A sole for an article of footwear includes a base having an outer edge defining a perimeter, the base having a forefoot portion, a midfoot portion and a heel portion; and a plurality of resilient projections extending from the base, wherein the plurality of projections includes a plurality of projections extending non-orthogonally from the base about the perimeter of the base and a plurality of projections extending substantially orthogonally from the base within the non-orthogonal projections.

Abstract: A fluid-filled chamber may include a pair of polymer layers that define a plurality of subchambers and a web area. The subchambers are protruding portions of the polymer layers that enclose a fluid, and the web area is portions of the polymer layers that are located between the subchambers and lay adjacent to each other. The subchambers may have greater thickness than the web area. A perimeter bond joining the polymer layers and extends around a periphery of the chamber. In addition, a plurality of interior bonds join the polymer layers and extend around the subchambers, which may seal the fluid within the subchambers.

Abstract: A disposable waterproof oversock is worn over foot and sock to protect from exposure to liquids, dirt and other contaminants in the environment that can penetrate footwear or reach above the ankle. The oversock is secured about the wearer's calf and ankle using fasteners that accommodate a range of calf and ankle sizes and allow adjustment to the wearer's desired fit. An elasticized region further increase both comfort and secureness of fit.

Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the present description, a shoe treatment device is provided having a shoe interior engagement form expandable from a latched, contracted state to an expanded state. A user operated slide actuator positioned exterior to the shoe may drive the engagement form to expand to the expanded state. The slide actuator may be actuated to contract the engagement form back to the contracted state. A latch may latch the engagement form in the selected contracted or expansion state to facilitate insertion and removal and treatment of the shoe. Other aspects are described.

Abstract: Automated painting of a shoe sole portion is enhanced by use of a mask cover and an air knife with a paint assembly. The mask cover is positioned in front of a paint-emitting portion of a spray nozzle and is adapted to obstruct at least a portion of the paint intended to be emitted by the spray nozzle. The air knife is coupled to the mask cover and is adapted to emit a laminar fluid flow over the mask cover. The laminar fluid flow helps to limit unwanted diffusion of the paint as it passes along its intended spray path.

Abstract: A method of making a sheet-form loop-engageable fastener product includes placing a layer of staple fibers on a first side of a substrate, needling fibers of the layer through the substrate to form loops extending from a second side of the substrate, removing end regions from at least some of the loops to form stems, and forming loop-engageable heads at free ends of at least some of the stems.

Abstract: Reusable quick-release fastener systems include fasteners composed of a neat polymer such as an elastomer or a shape memory polymer. The fasteners may be of any number of geometrical shapes, with each pair of fastening devices having mating geometries that are compatible with one another. The fastening devices provide an easy and nearly silent closure mechanism. The fastener systems can be used to attach one part to another or to act as the closure mechanism for an article comprising the fastener system, such as a pocket, a box, or a container, for example.

Abstract: This application relates to methods and apparatus for reinforcing fragile portions of a device case. In some embodiments, the device case can be reinforced by a reinforcing member made up of composite extrusions that are embedded within a top edge portion of the stiffening shell. The device shell can be utilized to define and maintain an overall shape of the device case. Composite fibers suitable for use in these embodiments can have high tensile strength and high tensile modulus. The device case can include a single length of embedded twisted composite fibers that extend continuously around the top edge or alternatively can include a number of discrete segments that reinforce particularly fragile portion of the top edge.

An insert of the handle is placed into an insert-receiving cavity of the protective case, the cavity being formed in a planar body. The insert is secured within the insert-receiving cavity by means of an interference fit, which allows the insert to rotate or slide in and out of the cavity with the application of sufficient force. The handle has a gripping body, which provides a number of finger-receiving volumes that a person's fingers can be inserted into. The protective case can be rotated about the insert of the handle as desired. Multiple insert-receiving cavities can be provided to afford a user more choice when attaching the handle to the protective case.

A front of the tray moves downwardly and a rear of the tray moves upwardly as the tray is moved from the closed to the open position. In one embodiment, the pull-out tray assembly includes a slide mechanism pivotally supporting the pull-out tray at a first location on the tray and a track guiding the tray at a second location on the tray. A worksurface assembly incorporating the pull-out tray is also provided, together with a method of using the pull-out tray.

The minimal movement required to utilize this system aids in the prevention of bruising and aids to prevent premature stem separation from the banana's body. This system helps the banana by extending the banana fruit's usability for as long as naturally possible.
