Abstract: A dual pass shaker system and method has a first line of shakers and a second line of shakers. The first line may be parallel shakers, and the second line may be series shakers or a combination of each. Arranging the shakers above each other conserves space. The shaker system maximizes screen area exposure from the dual pass system over and/or through the stacked design of the shakers. The system allows customizing the flow of the slurry through the shakers via valves and a distribution manifold to maximize the number of screens over which the slurry flows. The slurry flows through any configuration of shakers desired.

Abstract: The brine filtering device includes a pre-filtering unit having first and second pre-filtration drums arranged to rotate coaxially about a horizontal axis and a safety filtering unit having a safety filter sleeve submerged in a tank and connected to an outlet. The first and second pre-filtration drums have their lower regions submerged in brine contained in a tub. An inlet hopper receives brine to be filtered and forces it into the first pre-filtration drum through an upper region of its filtering wall. Brine exits a lower region of the first pre-filtration drum and is collected in the tub. Brine enters into the second pre-filtration drum through a lower region of its filtering wall. Brine is poured into tank through an open side wall of the second pre-filtration drum.

Abstract: A collider mixer includes a collider mixer element of cylindrical shape. Partitions form cylindrical channels around the collider mixer element. An input port is coupled to a first channel and an output port is coupled to a last channel. Exactly one inter-partition passage is formed in each of the partitions and a mixing chamber with a cylindrical inner surface holds the mixer element such that outer edges of the partitions seal against the inner surface of the mixing chamber, forming the channels. Fluids enter the input port and splits. A first portion of the fluids flow one direction through each channel and a remaining second portion of the fluids flow in an opposite direction through the same channel. The first portion of the fluids and the second portion of the fluids meet and collide at the inter-partition passages, then pass through the inter-partition passage to an adjacent channel.

Abstract: The present system provides a reactor vessel for reducing a mixture of carbon dioxide and a reactant to a product by exposure to gamma radiation from spent fuel rods. The reactor vessel is constructed of a material that permits a substantial portion of the incident gamma radiation to pass through the wall, such as carbon fiber, silicon, or other low-Z material. An inlet tube introduces a mixture of carbon dioxide and a reactant into the interior of the vessel, where the mixture flows through the vessel to expose the mixture to gamma radiation to reduce the mixture to at least one product. In this way, spent radioactive fuel rods can be utilized for carbon dioxide reduction and for the production of useful chemicals.
