Publication number: 20160040355Abstract: The bin arrangement is for collecting and discharging smaller ligno-cellulosic material. The bin has a transition part from a circular section of the bin and downwardly to a rectangular section with a long and short side of the rectangular section. The transition part could be built with few wall segments, thus needing less welding. Two rotary pocket feeders, each with at least one shaft extending parallel to the long side, are arranged directly under the rectangular section, enabling a uniform feed from the bin. The use of two rotary pocket feeders with this design directly under the bin does not destroy the even feed of material through the bin part, which otherwise is experienced from using conventional feed screws that feed material in a transverse direction from the bin outlet. The bin does not need to have a complex bin design which converges to a small circular inlet to a conventional rotary pocket feeder.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2014Publication date: February 11, 2016Inventors: Patrik Bjornvall, Henrik Ransjo, Magnus Wilhelmsson, Jonas Saetherasen

Publication number: 20160040396Abstract: The present disclosure is related to a method for determining a bucket and a machine combination operating along with multiple haul trucks of multiple sizes available in a mining site to achieve a target production efficiency. The method includes of providing a material information including at least one of a material category, a material bucket fill factor, and a material density. The method also includes providing a machine information including at least one of a static tipping load. The method includes providing a haul truck information including an average material load carried by the haul truck based on the material category, and available options of the haul trucks and haul truck sizes. Thereafter, the method includes determining the bucket and the machine combination based on analysis of the material information, the loader information, and the haul truck information.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2015Publication date: February 11, 2016Applicant: CaterpillarInventors: Seth A. Publication number: 20160040397Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a cleanup pass profile is provided. The method may include identifying a pass target extending from a first end to a second end along a work surface, generating a plurality of primitives between the first end and the second end such that each primitive has endpoints configured to approximate at least one of the pass target, the work surface, and an endpoint of an adjoining primitive, and adjoining the primitives at the endpoints to form a substantially continuous cleanup pass profile.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2014Publication date: February 11, 2016Applicant: CATERPILLAR INC.Inventor: Matthew E. Publication number: 20160040399Abstract: A wear member for an earth-working implement includes a body having front, rear, top, bottom, inner side and outer side portions. A cutting edge is defined along at least a portion of a bottom interface. The wear member includes a contoured upper front surface, which extends between a top edge along a top interface between the front portion and the top portion, an outer side edge along an outer side interface between the front portion and the outer side portion, a ridge on the front portion, and a spearhead edge along the bottom interface. The wear member includes a contoured lower front surface formed on the front portion of the body adjacent the contoured upper front surface, which is between an inner side edge, which is disposed along an inner side interface between the front portion and the inner side portion, the cutting edge, and the ridge.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2015Publication date: February 11, 2016Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Thomas Congdon, Sudhir R. Publication number: 20160040400Abstract: A retention system for a wear member may have a flange having a mounting slot defined between a first inner wall and a second inner wall, which are parallel to an axis. The retention system may also have a first retention member having a first through hole, and a second retention member having a second through hole. The retention system may additionally have a fastener configured to be received in the first and second through holes. The fastener may be configured to move the first retention member and the second retention member in opposite directions along the axis. The retention system may be configured such that movement of the retention members along the axis exerts forces on the first and second inner walls perpendicular to the axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2015Publication date: February 11, 2016Applicant: CATERPILLAR INC.Inventor: John Michael Plouzek

Publication number: 20160040401Abstract: The present invention is a device that can obtain fresh water from the moisture air and generate electricity in the process. The water collecting device comprises a vertical shaft, windmill elements for producing rotational force from wind, a vertical shaft, a water collecting tank secured at the bottom of this rotating structure, a small holed mesh with U shaped collecting ducts in the windmill structure and a generator coupled to the shaft. When the windmill structure rotates from the wind, moisture from the air adhere to the mesh and then are channeled to the water-collecting vessel through channels along the windmill frame. Additionally a generator coupled to the windmill frame produces electricity.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2015Publication date: February 11, 2016Inventor: David Jacob Berman
