Abstract: A novel variety of the maple tree Acer truncatum was discovered in North Texas. It has a smaller mature size than typical Shantung maple mature size, and its leaves have an unusually deep cut between lobes, extending about two-thirds (?) of the distance from tip to base, with a distinctively elongate and narrow (almost thread-like) unfurling central lobe that widens as it matures. It exhibits consistent yellow-green leaf color throughout the spring, summer and fall, developing striking red-orange and yellow-pink coloration variations in the fall. Its coloration contrasts sharply to its lighter yellow-green veins which appear almost white and enhanced as the leaf darkens somewhat during summer. The variety known as ‘Super Dragon’ also is extremely tolerant to direct summer sun and drought conditions.

Abstract: A new cultivar of Agapanthus named ‘Blue Flare’, characterized by its mid season blooming habit and re-blooms for up to 6 weeks, its blue self-cleaning flowers that are held primarily upright from pedicels (not drooping), and its medium tall plant height.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Calibrachoa plant named ‘Duealkop14’, characterized by its compact, semi-upright and outwardly spreading to trailing and decumbent plant habit; freely branching habit; early and freely flowering habit; large bright yellow-colored flowers with red-colored centers and orange red-colored venation; and good garden performance.
Abstract: The present invention regards an orthopedic device to be associated with the outside of a bone and of the type comprising a support rail, extended along a central longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the bone, at least two clamps mounted slidably along the axis on the support rail and supporting endosseous screws insertable into the bone, and a distractor/compressor device removably attachable to the two clamps by means of respective connection pins inserted into corresponding holes of each clamp, wherein each clamp comprises a clamp body having a base or lower jaw and a lid, or upper jaw as well as two screws for fixing the upper jaw to the lower jaw Advantageously the holes for the connection pins are aligned along a line that is extended substantially parallel to the axis with at least one hole for the connection pins of the remaining clamp also being aligned along the line, thus making the overall structure of the clamps mounted on the orthopedic device particularly compact.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, in the case of performing an operation for increasing a threshold voltage of a first transistor or a third transistor, a control circuit is configured to apply a first voltage to a bit line, and apply a second voltage greater than the first voltage to a gate of a second transistor, thereby rendering the second transistor in a conductive state to transfer the first voltage to a second semiconductor layer, and then apply a program voltage to a gate of the first transistor or the third transistor to store a charge in a second charge storage layer.
Abstract: A solid-state imaging device having an arrangement in which well contact is achieved for each pixel is provided. In the solid-state imaging device, a well contact part is formed in an activation region of a photoelectric conversion portion. The well contact part fixes a well in which the photoelectric conversion portion and transistors of the pixel are provided at a predetermined potential.
Abstract: A stacking head of a sod harvester can be configured to move with a stacking conveyor during a pick up operation. A stacking head on a roll harvester can be configured to move with a stacking conveyor to allow the stacking conveyor to be moved while the stacking head is removing rolls of sod from the stacking conveyor.

Abstract: An agricultural implement is provided that has a variable placement hinge joint that allows adjacent implement sections to flex relative to each other and can be moved by an actuator to control spacing between adjacent work zones defined by the implement sections. This can be done by detecting relative angle changes between adjacent implement sections and moving the hinge joint to maintain a constant distance between the work zones so that row spacing is substantially constant across the entire implement, even between adjacent ground-engaging tools or other working units of different implement sections.
Abstract: A seed planting device operable on ground includes a main frame, having wheels, configured to be moved in a planting direction on the ground, a seed hopper, attached to the frame, having a discharge, and a cup-type seed dispenser, having a dispenser axis, disposed adjacent to the discharge of the hopper. The seed dispenser is configured to controllably receive and dispense individual seeds from the hopper and drop the seeds from a seed discharge below the frame. The seed hopper and seed dispenser are pivotally attached to the main frame and configured to rotate about a generally horizontal axis to maintain the dispenser axis in a substantially upright orientation relative to an uphill or downhill planting direction.
Abstract: The method for planting potatoes at high speed includes the steps of providing a press wheel behind the seed drop chute; opening a furrow in a soil; dropping potato seed pieces at spaced intervals in the furrow such that each seed piece or a portion thereof intersects a forward shadow of the press wheel, and catching and decelerating each seed piece against the soil in the furrow thereby reducing set roll in each seed piece. In an alternate embodiment a pair of spaced-apart press wheels are used. These alternate press wheels are mounted astride the furrow in a positive-camber alignment for moving the soil of the furrow against the seed piece.
Abstract: A crop header has generally horizontal flail disks mounted for driven rotation about generally upright axes of a cutter bar. A tilting system is provided for tilting the cutter bar about an axis transverse to the machine so as to tilt the cutting plane from a generally horizontal position forwardly and rearwardly. A sensor is provided which is responsive to upward and downward floating movement of the cutter bar relative to the support frame and is arranged to analyze changes in the signal to determine times when the cutter bar is moving upwardly when the cutter bar is tilted rearwardly, times when the cutter bar is moving downwardly when the cutter bar is tilted forwardly and times when the cutter bar is remaining at a constant height.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for processing a surface by means of a robotic vehicle, wherein the robotic vehicle has a control system in which data concerning the outline of the surface to be processed are stored, wherein locating means are present, which determine the position of the robotic vehicle, in particular in relation to the surface to be processed, and wherein the method comprises the following steps: dividing the surface to be processed into individual segments; classifying each individual segment into a property class; and moving to and processing each individual segment in succession, each individual segment being processed with a processing strategy corresponding to its property class.
Abstract: A plant extraction assembly includes a housing that may be worn on a user's back. A flexible hose is fluidly coupled to and extends from the housing. A tube is fluidly coupled to a second end of the hose. A motor is coupled to a first end of the tube. A shaft is positioned within the tube. The shaft is rotationally coupled to the motor. A blade is coupled to the shaft. The blade is positioned at a second end of the tube so the blade may contact a plant positioned adjacent to the second end of the tube. A propeller is coupled to the shaft. The propeller provides from the second end of the tube into the tube. The propeller may urge pieces of the plant cut by the blade upwardly through the tube and the hose into the housing.
Abstract: A flexible platform jointed to a conveyor belt for a combined harvesting, chopping and spinning machine includes a central assembly of parallel augers and an oblique auger on each side of the assembly.
