Abstract: The current disclosure describes methods for identifying subjects that would benefit from treatment with a chemotherapeutic agent. The disclosure is based in part on the observation that miR-129 expression levels are reduced in colorectal cancer. Accordingly, the current disclosure provides therapeutic compositions and methods for altering the expression of a miR-129 effector. Described herein are methods for characterizing the stage of colorectal cancer in a subject, based on the levels of miR-129 expression. The disclosure also identifies miR-129 as a predictive biomarker for cancer diagnosis and the subsequent treatment with directed therapeutic agents including but not limited to miR-129 nucleic acid molecules and/or a chemotherapeutic agent. The current disclosure also identifies novel therapeutic agents that modulate the level of BCL2, TS and/or E2F3 expression, as well as sensitize a subject to treatment with a chemotherapeutic agent.

Abstract: In a method for controlling sewing operation of a sewing machine, a stitch needle completes an in-and-out movement on a fabric with a first tension applied to an upper thread when the stitch needle, with respect to a fabric-feeding mechanism, is at a first relative position corresponding to a first pattern part of a predetermined stitch pattern. Afterward, the stitch needle is moved, with respect to the fabric-feeding mechanism, to a second relative position corresponding to a second pattern part of the predetermined stitch pattern, and completes an in-and-out movement on the fabric at the second relative position with a second tension, which is greater than the first tension, applied to the upper thread.

Abstract: A seam allowance guide aide label, Sewing with Color Label, to be applied to the surface of a sewing machine plate, as a stick-on label. The label has imprinted vertical and horizontal lines with colors; the first vertical line is the guideline to align the label to the default needle position for applying the label to the sewing machine's plate. The use of colors is a system to represent a standard measurement, known and accepted in today's sewing industry. The color system defines and establishes immediate differences between measurements, to achieve accuracy in positioning the edge of a textile to be sewn in a specific seam line without trouble of not recognizing numerical representations or seam grading lines in the actual plate of a sewing machine, either in imperial or metric system.

Abstract: A washing machine including a water storage tub coupled to a rotation drive unit via a supporting member. The water storage tub may be made of plastic and the supporting member may be made of metal. The supporting member strengthens the bottom of the water storage tub and thereby prevents the water storage tub from being deformed or otherwise damaged by operation of the drive unit. During the injection molding process of forming the water storage tub, the supporting member is inserted into the water storage tub and thereby integrates with the water storage tub. Thus, a separate integration process after the water storage tub is formed is advantageously eliminated, leading to improved installation precision, simplified manufacturing processes, and reduced manufacturing cost.

Abstract: A system for the remote monitoring of washing machines cleanliness to a pre-certified cleanliness standard includes washing machines having wash processors to wash items according to pre-determined pre-certified recipes using pre-certified consumables. The wash processors are adapted to communicate over the internet with a remotely located administrator processor, to exchange information on a repeating, short-time interval. The wash processors provide to the administrator processor the volumetric consumption of consumables over successive wash loads. In each of said at least one washing machine according to said recipes, wherein said recipes correspond to characteristics of the wash items in each corresponding wash load and the corresponding nature of the spoilage. The recipes and the consumables have been independently pre-certified for use in the washing machines so as to clean and restore the wash items to a pre-determined certification standard of cleanliness.
