  • Patent number: 9327129
Abstract: Techniques for classification of a posture state of a patient using multiple posture state definitions, and for delivering therapy according to the patient's classified posture state. Detected parameter values describing a patient's posture state are compared to posture state definitions. This comparison is used to determine similarity values describing how similar the patient's posture state is to each of the posture states described by the posture state definitions. Weighting factors may be determined from the similarity values and used to weight therapy parameter values that are associated with each of the posture state definitions. The resulting weighted therapy parameter values may be used to derive a blended therapy parameter value for use in delivering therapy to the patient. The patient's posture state may be expressed in terms of a blending of the multiple posture state definitions.

  • Patent number: 9327130
Abstract: Method and system for non-linear modeling of physiological behavior, such as R-R intervals, in implantable devices, such as a rate responsive pacemakers, comprising a comprehensive modeling and optimization methodology based on fractional calculus and constrained finite horizon optimal control theory that allows for allows for fine-grain optimization of pacemaker response to heart rate variations; and the theoretical basis on which a hardware implementation of the fractional optimal controller that can respond to changes in the heart rate dynamics. Present invention describes a fractal approach to pacemaker control based on the constrained finite horizon optimal control problem. This is achieved by modeling the heart rate dynamics via fractional differential equations. Also, by using calculus of variations, the invention describes how the constrained finite horizon optimal control problem can be reduced to solving a linear system of equations.

  • Patent number: 9327134
Abstract: An implantable electroacupuncture device (IEAD) treats a medical condition of a patient through application of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation pulses applied at a target tissue location, such as an acupoint. The IEAD comprises an implantable, coin-sized, self-contained, leadless electroacupuncture device having at least two electrodes attached to an outside surface of its housing. The device generates EA stimulation pulses in accordance with a specified stimulation regimen. Power management circuitry within the device allows a primary battery, having a high internal impedance, to be used to power the device. The stimulation regimen generates stimulation pulses during a stimulation session of duration T3 minutes applied every T4 minutes. The duty cycle, or ratio T3/T4, is very low, no greater than 0.05. The low duty cycle and careful power management allow the IEAD to perform its intended function for several years.

Abstract: A sport ball may include a casing and a bladder located within the casing. The casing may include a plurality of panel elements joined to each other with welds, and portions of the panel elements that include the welds may project toward an interior of the ball. A method of manufacturing a sport ball may include providing a plurality of casing elements that include a thermoplastic polymer material. Edges of the casing elements are welded to each other to join the casing elements. The casing elements may then be turned inside-out through an aperture formed by at least one of the casing elements, and the aperture may be sealed.

  • Patent number: 9327168
Abstract: Methods for making golf balls having a cover made from polyurea and polyurethane compositions are provided. The methods for making the polyurea and polyurethane composition involve preparing an amine-terminated or hydroxyl-terminated first prepolymer by reacting a first isocyanate compound with a stoichiometric excess of polyamine or polyol (depending on the type of prepolymer desired). The first prepolymer is then reacted with a stoichiometric excess of a second isocyanate compound to form an isocyanate-terminated second prepolymer. The second prepolymer is then reacted with a chain extender.

  • Patent number: 9327172
Abstract: The golf club head has a body comprising a crown portion, a sole portion, a toe portion, heel portion, hosel portion, rear portion, and a front portion including a striking face. At least one or more portions of the body of the golf club head is made out of at least one or more mid-density materials. The at least one mid-density material or composite of mid-density materials have a density within a range from about 4.5 g/cm3 to 7.9 g/cm3. The mid-density material or composite of mid-density materials provide sufficient stiffness at a reduced weight to optimize the center of gravity and moment of inertia of the golf club head. Also, by using mid-density materials, discretionary weight of the golf club head is increased which can be used to position higher density weights at selective portions of the golf club head.

  • Patent number: 9327178
Abstract: A method, system and compute program product for modifying sporting event participant decorations displayed on a fiber optic “Turf TV” playing surface. A utility calculates a direction of movement of a player or object in proximity to the playing surface, which is configured to display images, during a live sporting event. The utility adds a graphical aura to a real-time graphical image displayed in proximity to the player on the playing surface. The utility animates the aura in response to wind and/or noise in proximity to the playing surface. The utility modifies the aura based on pre-defined custom attributes, penalties, errors, and/or player status. If the player moves, the utility adds a graphical player trail to the image. The utility also adds a graphical object trail that includes previous locations of an object. The object trail may also include spin and a visual appearance corresponding to an object height.
