Abstract: A coil spring bracket assembly that supports a cushion on a furniture frame is disclosed. A flat spring spans the furniture frame along a support plane to support the cushion. A cross member spanning the furniture frame is aligned with and spaced from the flat spring. A helical spring extends from the cross member to the flat spring to bias the flat spring toward the support plane. A bracket is disposed at opposite ends of the cross member to anchor the cross member to the furniture frame. The bracket includes a top portion that extends outwardly over the furniture frame along the support plane, a middle portion that extends from the top portion into the furniture frame, and a bottom portion that extends inwardly from the middle portion to abut a portion of the cross member in overlapping relationship.

An upper end of each transverse seam is below the upper surface of the string so as to partially separate adjacent pockets within a string of springs when the spring is relaxed. The strings of springs have ventilation openings to increase airflow.

Abstract: A mattress assembly includes a first layer of viscoelastic foam defining an upper surface, and a second layer of non-viscoelastic foam supporting the first layer. The mattress assembly also includes a plurality of spring elements positioned beneath the upper surface for enhancing a firmness of the combined first and second layers. Each of the spring elements includes a first spring having a first spring rate and a second spring having a second spring rate different than the first spring rate.

Abstract: A towel system with an adjustable padded headrest for laying over a portable lounge chair or directly on a ground surface. A rectangular towel is disposed on a lounge chair and secured to the lounge chair via attachment fasteners inserted into a hole of a row of attachment holes. A water-resistant pillow pouch is disposed on the towel. A pillow is removeably located inside the pillow pouch. The towel may alternatively be placed directly on a ground surface and secured to the ground via stakes inserted through apertures disposed on each corner of the towel.

Abstract: A bassinet apparatus includes a generally pedestal-shaped main body having a weighted bottom section, and a cradle that is positioned along the top end thereof. The cradle includes a bucket seat configuration having no corners or edges, and a centrally located motion unit imparts a front to back motion, and a side to side motion across in both a linear and angular manner.

Abstract: A play yard for children, including a rigid support frame and a removable, flexible liner. The frame includes one or more fasteners configured to engage the liner in order to form a bounded play yard space. By securing the liner to the frame via the fasteners, a user is able to easily secure the liner to the frame for use and remove the liner from the frame for washing or replacement.

It is desired to increase energy efficiency of the doors and thus of the refrigerated display system, while at the same time reducing visible reflectance from the doors to make it easier for customers to see merchandise which is being displayed behind the transparent doors. Refrigerator doors according to certain example embodiments of this invention include one or more AR coatings, some of which may include a transparent conductive layer (e.g., ITO) so as to also function as a low-E coating.

The angled support holds the mattress in a nearly vertical orientation. A mattress support is pivotally connected to the post. The mattress support has a base, two ears, a leg and a lip. The bowl defines a cavity therein and includes a latch saddle radially extending outwardly from a remainder of the bowl. The cover extends over the bowl to enclose the cavity. The cover includes a latch hook selectively secured within the latch saddle to maintain the cover over the bowl. The utensil is selectively coupled with the bowl and extends about the latch hook and the latch saddle. The utensil defines a handle portion extending above the bowl and the cover to facilitate user transport of the food storage and serving assembly at least partially via the handle portion of the utensil.

Abstract: An aid or device for assisting a person in putting on his or her shoes when the person uses an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) has a generally flat platform or frame on which the shoe rests. A toe strap or restraint holds the toe of the shoe, and an elastic or spring-biased cord at the heel end has a clip or hook that attaches to the upper part of the orthosis. A handle at the toe-end or distal end extends upwards and permits the wearer to manipulate the donning aid with the shoe and orthosis so he or she can don the shoes without assistance of others. The donning aid can be formed from a sheet of ABS material with suitable cutouts for toe restraint and hand-hold.

Thus, when it is desired to clean the lid, the user only has to rotate the filter to easily detach the filter from the lid and pull the pulling tab to rapidly remove the gasket from the lid for cleaning, without using any tool.

Abstract: A kitchen appliance includes a first reservoir for receiving a liquid to be used for preparing a beverage. A hot water generator (‘HWG’) has an inlet end, an outlet end and a passageway extending therebetween. The inlet end of the HWG is connected to the first reservoir. Liquid from the first reservoir flows into the HWG through the inlet end. A second reservoir is connected to the outlet end of the HWG. The second reservoir includes a discharge port, a gas vent and a skirt extending from a wall of the second reservoir further than the gas vent. The skirt at least partially surrounds the gas vent. At least a portion of the skirt is spaced laterally inwardly from an outer sidewall of the second reservoir.

Abstract: A vaporizer bowl having an integral internal grinding mechanism has a plurality of internal stainless steel prongs and is split in hemispherical halves. In use, a substance used to create a desired vapor is placed within the bowl. The prongs grind/cut the substance as the halves of the bowl are turned in opposing directions. Such action ensures that the substance is completely consumed, allowing for less waste or the use of less material.

Abstract: A spice grinder comprising a bottle (60) and a grinder unit (10) which is screwed onto the bottle. The grinder unit comprises a fixed component (12) and a rotatable component (14). The components have teeth (28, 44) which face one another across a grinding gap (52). The component (12) has one or more ramps (54) on the inside thereof and the bottle (60) has one or more external ramps (66). Each ramp (54) comprises a camming surface (56) and a locking surface (58) which intersect. The ramp (66) also comprises a camming surface (68) and a locking surface (70). When the grinder unit (10) is screwed onto the bottle the ramps (54, 66) ride over one another until the surfaces (56, 70) clear one another and the surfaces (58, 70) snap into face-to-face contact to prevent the grinder unit being rotated in the direction which unscrews it from the bottle.

The mixing chamber contains a shredding component and a blending component that rotatably engages the mixing chamber. The blending component can be a screw bit that comprises a first set of spiral ridge that form a screw pattern and a second set of straight ridges on its cone-shaped top. The spiral ridges form channels between the ridges. On the surface of the channels near the bottom of the screw bit, a set of teeth is present. On the spiral ridges themselves, there is also another set of teeth. The width of the channels becomes increasing wider towards the bottom of the screw bit. The distance between the spiral ridges is larger at the bottom of the screw bit than the distance between the ridges at the top of the screw bit.

Abstract: Shape memory insulators comprising a first layer of core material, such as polymeric insulative material, and a second, shape memory layer of elastomeric material, for attachment to objects. The shape memory layer may comprise silicone rubber, silicone gum, silicon crepe, and/or silicone gel, for example. The shape memory insulator may be part of a handle for an object, such as a pot or pan, for example, or other objects and devices requiring continuous and/or repetitive manual operation. The shape memory polymeric material may conform to the shape of the user's hand when the handle is gripped by a user's hand. When the grip is released, the shape memory material returns to its original shape. The shape memory insulators provide insulation as well as improving comfort and/or control over the engagement and use of objects, while decreasing arm and hand wear and/or strain of those using the objects.

Abstract: There is disclosed a prefabricated shower receptor module having a floor with a drain opening and a plurality of peripheral edges. The floor is bound along at least one peripheral edge by a side flange such that an integral one-piece module is created. In one embodiment, a prefabricated seat is bonded to a peripheral edge of the floor. The module is constructed from a waterproof matrix material suitable for applying shower tile or stone directly thereon. Previously set tile or stone can be removed from the matrix material, and new tile or stone reapplied, without damaging the module.

A fluid extraction system in accordance with a particular embodiment includes a fluid extractor having an outlet positioned to deliver extracted waste fluid, and a fluid tank operatively coupled to the extractor. A blower, having an air intake and an air outlet through which blower air passes, is operatively coupled to the extractor outlet to draw the extracted waste fluid from the extractor. A muffler is positioned at least partially within the liquid tank and has a flow path along which the blower air passes. In particular embodiments, the muffler can also provide a heat exchanger function, for example, to heat cleaning fluid provided to the extractor.

In a third mode, image data stored in the second image storing unit is outputted while generated image data is sequentially stored in the first image storing unit. In the second and third modes, it is possible to switch between a first playback mode that continuously outputs the multiple stored image data and a second playback mode that repeatedly outputs one of the multiple stored image data.

In one embodiment, a mechanically-actuated endotracheal tube cleaning device is configured to removably receive a visualization member to provide cleaning of the endotracheal tube under direct visualization.

Abstract: In a light converging type light guide unit for guiding light emitted from a light source to a light-receiving member having a reflection face extending from a light emission point to at least a place in the neighborhood of a light reception point of the light-receiving member, the reflection face has first and second focal points at which the light emission and reception points are disposed, respectively, and comprises an elliptical reflection face at the side of the light reception point, and a curved surface reflection face that is provided at the side of the light emission point, reflects light of the light source therefrom to the elliptical reflection face and obtains light that travels to the light reception point and is incident to the light reception point at a predetermined incidence angle or less by reflection from the elliptical reflection face.

Abstract: The delivery of biological compounds to ischemic and/or infarcted tissue are described herein where such a system may include a deployment catheter and an attached imaging hood deployable into an expanded configuration. In use, the imaging hood is placed against or adjacent to a region of tissue to be imaged in a body lumen that is normally filled with an opaque bodily fluid such as blood. A translucent or transparent fluid, such as saline, can be pumped into the imaging hood until the fluid displaces any blood, thereby leaving a clear region of tissue to be imaged via an imaging element in the deployment catheter. Additionally, any number of therapeutic tools can also be passed through the deployment catheter and into the imaging hood for performing any number of procedures on the tissue for identifying, locating, and/or accessing ischemic and/or infarcted tissue.

A method for viewing the laryngeal inlet of a patient using a laryngoscope comprising the step of adjusting the viewing field is also covered.

Abstract: One embodiment is a method for finding, calculating and electronically marking a reference axis for astigmatism correction/neutralization of a patient eye during a refractive surgery. The reference axis for astigmatism correction/neutralization can be determined intra-operatively based on one or more eye property measurements together with simultaneous recording a live eye image. The determined reference axis of astigmatism correction/neutralization can be updated and registered with one or more land mark(s) of the recorded eye image(s); and overlaid onto a live image of the eye. Another embodiment is a method of calculating and displaying in real time compensated refractive errors of the eye under operation with refractive components due to temporary surgically induced factors removed and refractive components due to surgeon-induced factors added.

For each value of (i), an (i)th fixation point is then projected on the vertical surface, where the (i)th fixation point is one of (N) total fixation points and comprises the second color. For each value of (i), a perceived location is recorded upon receiving a signal that the (i)th fixation point is illuminated by the light. Finally, the (N) perceived locations are transformed into an ocular motor function map.

The direction of the light reflected from the examinee's face is detected and the examination result and the examined eye are registered to know whether the examined eye was the right eye or the left eye.

The light scattered from the investigated object is combined with reference radiation. The combined light is projected onto a detector providing a confocal restriction in one dimension. Astigmatic optics in the return path transform the light asymmetrically such that at the detector, the line focus is imaged to the confocal restriction, while the orthogonal direction is defocused. Embodiments including a swept source with linear detection array, and spectrometer based systems utilizing a 2D detector array are described. The data may be reconstructed to a B-scan by two-dimensional Fourier transform or other reconstruction method with or without combination of more complex algorithms.

Abstract: An apparatus for covering a left eye and a right eye of a human, includes: a first eye piece configured for covering a left eye of a human; and a second eye piece configured for covering a right eye of the human; wherein the first eye piece and the second eye piece are configured for preventing transmission of visible light; and wherein at least one of the first eye piece and the second eye piece comprises a region that is transparent for electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength range outside a visible range.
