Publication number: 20160158680Abstract: Some embodiments provide a centripetal air or gas cleaning apparatus for removing particulates from air or gas. The apparatus comprises an inlet, housing, impeller, a clean air outlet, and a particulate outlet. The housing has an inner conical surface. The impeller's rotation creates negative pressure towards the inlet that intakes particulate-pervaded air or gas into the housing. The rotation also induces an accelerating force that throws the particulate-pervaded air or gas against the outer walls of the housing. Here, the particulates separate from the air or gas, penetrate a high-pressure zone, and are ejected through the particulate outlet located in the high-pressure zone. The air or gas, having less inertia, deflects away from the high-pressure zone where it is then subjected to a centripetal force that drives the air or gas towards the center of the housing behind the impeller where it is ejected through the clean air outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2016Publication date: June 9, 2016Inventors: Edward Roston, Andrew W. A device for use within an aftertreatment system includes a silver-based NOx storage catalyst and a zeolite. The silver-based NOx storage catalyst and the zeolite store NOx through a low temperature startup period of operation. In one embodiment, the zeolite includes a barium Y zeolite.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2014Publication date: June 9, 2016Inventors: GONGSHIN QI, STEVEN J. SCHMIEG, SHOUXIAN REN, WEI LI

Publication number: 20160158702Abstract: Device for producing pure water, where the water to be purified is caused to be membrane distilled using one or more units (1), wherein each of the units comprises a space which on its one side comprises a first disc-shaped wall (4,4?) and on its other side a membrane (3,3?) through which gaseous water can pass but not liquid water, and a second disc-shaped wall (5,10), which walls are disposed on different sides of and at a distance from the membrane, wherein water is led in between the first wall (4,4?) and the membrane (3,3?), and wherein the second wall (5,10) is caused to be colder than the water.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2014Publication date: June 9, 2016Inventor: Aapo SÄÄSK

Publication number: 20160158703Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating a composition of matter with the aid of a membrane cascade having at least two stages, in which a separation is effected in each stage at at least one membrane at a separation temperature set for the particular stage. The invention further relates to a corresponding membrane cascade, to the use of said membrane cascade for catalyst separation from homogeneously catalysed mixtures, and to a process for hydroformylation, in which the catalyst is separated by means of a membrane cascade. The problem addressed thereby is that of specifying a membrane-based process for separating compositions of matter, which has a minimum membrane area requirement and nevertheless fulfils the separation task and separation performance required. This problem is solved by the use of a membrane cascade with falling separation temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2014Publication date: June 9, 2016Applicant: EVONIK DEGUSSA GMBHInventors: Markus PRISKE, Robert FRANKE, Bart HAMERS, Patrick SCHMIDT, Andrzej GÓRAK
