Abstract: It is provided a system for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine, connected to a fuel channel which provides pressurized fuel to fuel injectors. The system includes a fuel return line for providing excess fuel from the engine to a fuel tank, a two-way valve having ports connected respectively to the fuel channel and to the fuel return line, and a controller for activating the valve. The valve has a normally open state enabling free fuel passage between the two ports, and an active closed state blocking fuel passage thereof. In the normally open state, fuel passage through the two-way valve decreases fuel pressure in the fuel channel bellow a pressure level appropriate for engine operation by fuel injection. Once the controller activates the valve, the pressure level in the fuel channel enables engine operation by fuel injection. The two-way valve may be controlled wirelessly by an anti-theft lock of a motor vehicle. The first port may be connected to the fuel channel within the engine.

A piston is movably mounted in the housing between a retracted and an extended position and the piston forms a thin annular passageway between the housing and the piston. During fluid flow from the inlet, through the annular chamber and to the outlet, the differential pressure moves the piston to its extended position thus closing a switch which powers a heating element disposed around the housing.

Abstract: An emergency breakaway system having an integral electrical testing system for confirming the functionality of a trailer's electric brake solenoids and electric lights includes housing enclosure having interface screen, a testing battery, and a testing controller. The trailer electrical system testing device is operative to replace a conventional emergency breakaway system, supplying the emergency breakaway functionality while also enabling real time, on demand testing of the trailer's electric brakes and lights. An integrated activation routine causes electricity to be supplied directly to the electric brakes in periodic, on/off intervals, thereby operating the electric brakes intermittently, for a predetermined time period. The activation routine thus allows a user to walk around the trailer and listen for activation of the electric brake solenoids as well as check and verify the functionality of the brake components.

The simultaneous timer serves to measure a time that the first master pressure sensor is determined to be not under a normal state and the second master pressure sensor is determined to be not under a normal state on the basis of the sensor state flags. The abnormal-state fixing time is set to a time shorter than an abnormal-state fixing time used for changing the state of each of the master pressure sensors from an invalid state to an abnormal state.

Abstract: A method for triggering self-braking in a motor vehicle, in which following a first collision during an accident a self-braking request signal is transmitted to a brake controller by a collision sensor unit by a communications device of the motor vehicle. The multi-collision braking requested should be initiated in the event of damage to the brake controller that is caused by the first collision. The request signal is received by a control device of the motor vehicle that is disposed at a distance from the brake controller. The control device then determines whether the brake controller responds to the request signal. If no response of the brake controller is detected, the self-braking is initiated by the control device.
