  • Patent number: 9371909
Abstract: A method of controlling a transmission of a vehicle equipped with an electronic transmission range select system includes receiving an electronic request to actuate a transmission park system. A speed of the vehicle is sensed with each of a plurality of different speed sensors to define a plurality of different sensed vehicle speeds. Each of the plurality of different speed sensors provides a sensed vehicle speed that is independent and separate from the sensed vehicle speed from all of the other speed sensors. All of the different sensed vehicle speeds from the plurality of speed sensors is compared to each other to determine the lowest sensed vehicle speed. When the lowest sensed vehicle speed is equal to or less than a maximum allowable actuation speed, an electronic signal is sent from the transmission control unit to the transmission park system to actuate the transmission park system.

  • Patent number: 9371944
Abstract: A self-actuated linearly retractable and extendible hose for use in transporting fluids (liquids, gases, solid particles, and combinations of these) between a source location and an output location can be implemented as an extendible hose comprising a biasing element, a sealing layer, and a reinforced cover layer. The sealing layer forms a sealed conduit for transporting the fluids, and the reinforced cover layer on the outside provides radial and longitudinal strength for the sealing layer. The hose can be operated by increasing internal pressure within the hose relative to ambient pressure. When the hose is pressurized by a fluid source, the internal pressure of the hose overcomes the retracting force of the biasing element and the hose extends. When the fluid source is turned off or disconnected from the hose, internal pressure is reduced and the biasing element exerts a tension force on the hose causing the hose to retract.

  • Patent number: 9371945
Abstract: A connector for a length of corrugated tubing. The connector includes a fitting including a passage therethrough, a clamping surface, a seal, and a nut operably connected to the fitting. The tubing is in fluid communication with the passage through the fitting. Axial movement of the nut towards the clamping surface-urges the tubing against the seal wherein the tubing is thereby sealingly restrained to the fitting and a clamping surface is formed capable of causing an end portion of the corrugated tube to form a flare by the end portion of the corrugated tube being compressed against the clamping surface and the seal and sealed thereagainst by the action of the nut.

  • Patent number: 9371948
Abstract: A liquid-tight connector includes a threaded body, a finger/gland assembly within an annular pocket within the body, and a compression nut that engages a first threaded portion of the body. The finger/gland assembly includes a plurality of fingers attached to a sealing gland in an annular, collet-type fashion. The sealing gland and the fingers may be integral with one another. The sealing gland and the fingers may be co-molded with one another. Tightening the compression nut on the threaded body causes the compression nut to engage the fingers of the finger/gland assembly and bias the fingers toward each other. Such biasing causes the fingers to move inward and compress the sealing gland so that it forms a liquid-tight seal around the entire circumference of a cable within the body of the connector.

  • Patent number: 9371949
Abstract: A hydraulic valve coupling has an interlock mechanism that includes at least one blocking member within an interlock passage of a body of the valve coupling. The interlock passage has a first end opening to the valve shaft and a second end opening to an interface groove of the valve coupling. The at least one blocking member can be retracted within the interlock passage such that the valve coupling can be rotated and disengaged from a mating coupling. When the valve is in the open position, the at least one blocking member is positioned within the interlock passage such that it contacts the mating coupling and prevents rotation of the valve coupling relative to the mating coupling. The second end of the at least one blocking member can be shaped such that it is retracted as a result of contact with the mating coupling without assistance from a biasing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9371950
Abstract: A cured in place liner system and associated connections and methods are disclosed. The cured in place pipe system forms a completely rehabilitated, stand-alone, fluid-tight flow path between upstream and downstream portions of an existing pipe system. The rehabilitated flow path is stand-alone in that the liner system does not rely on structure of the portion of the pipe system through which the liner system is installed to define the fluid-tight flow path. The flow path between upstream and downstream portions of the liner system is defined by and made fluid-tight solely by components of the rehabilitation system such as cured in place liners and couplers. The portion of the pipe system through which the rehabilitation system is installed merely provides a path (e.g., through the ground) through which the cured in place liner system can be inserted.
