  • Patent number: 9399426
Abstract: In a turning direction indicator, a first determination section determines whether a steering angle becomes equal to or larger than a first angle in one turning direction after the steering angle becomes a rotation angle in another turning direction opposite to the one turning direction in a state where an indication operation section is operated to a position indicating the one turning direction and the one turning direction is displayed by a display section. A second determination section determines whether the steering angle becomes equal to or smaller than a second angle smaller than the first angle after the steering angle becomes equal to or larger than the first angle. If the second determination section determines that the steering angle is equal to or smaller than the second angle, a cancelation section cancels the display of the turning direction by the display section.

  • Patent number: 9399437
Abstract: A bumper reinforcement is formed of a 7000 series aluminum alloy hollow extrusion and has crushed end portions. A portion of the end portions is heated to a temperature of 400° C. or more for reversion treatment, the heated portion is subjected to cold crushing, and then the whole bumper reinforcement is subjected to age hardening. Because of the age hardening, the heated portion has higher Vickers hardness than non-heated portions by Hv 10 or more. This compensates for a decrease in reaction force in a collision of an end portion resulting from a decrease in the section modulus of the crushed portion and thereby suppresses a decrease in energy absorption.

  • Patent number: 9399450
Abstract: A method and system for promoting a uniform driving style. A longitudinal speed of a motor vehicle and a route section curvature radius lying ahead of the vehicle are determined when the vehicle approaches the route section. An expected lateral acceleration is determined from the curvature radius and longitudinal speed as the route section is driven through. The lateral acceleration is compared with a permanently predefined lateral acceleration limiting value which can be predefined by the driver. In the event the expected lateral acceleration is greater than at least one of the lateral acceleration limiting values, the longitudinal speed is lowered by an optical, acoustic and/or haptic request to the driver and/or by autonomous braking intervention. If the expected lateral acceleration is smaller than or equal to the lower of the two lateral acceleration limiting values the lowering of the longitudinal speed is reduced by decreasing the engine drag torque.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for controlling an electrohydraulic braking system for a motor vehicle having an antilock braking control function and an electrically controllable pressure generating device having a cylinder-piston arrangement having a hydraulic pressure chamber and a piston displaceable by an electromechanical actuator so that a predetermined pressure can be set in the chamber, and having a number of hydraulically wheel brakes connected to the hydraulic pressure chamber by an electrically actuatable inlet valve and to a pressure medium reservoir via an electrically actuatable outlet valve. The cylinder-piston arrangement is actuated in case of antilock controlling at all wheel brakes for setting an individual wheel target pressure at each wheel brake, such that the pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber is set to the greatest wheel target pressure.

  • Patent number: 9399453
Abstract: A housing of a master cylinder device includes a housing member separating an interior of the housing into a front and a rear side chambers and having an opening through the housing member. A pressurizing piston includes a main body portion disposed in the front side chamber and is moved forward by a force for pressurizing the brake fluid. An input piston can move forward by an operation force. An input chamber into which a brake fluid from a high pressure source device is introduced is defined between a rear end of the main body portion of the pressurizing piston and the housing member. The input piston is fitted in the housing with seals, whereby, the input piston and the pressure receiving piston face to each other through the opening, though the input piston and the pressure receiving piston are not fitted to each other with any seal.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a transmission, and an Electronic Transmission Range Selection (ETRS) system. The transmission has a plurality of clutches, a park pawl, and a park sensor. The ETRS system has a controller and an electronic range selector device. The controller is programmed to detect a delay in pull out of the park pawl from a park position and to control an action of the vehicle in response to the delay by receiving an electronic range request signal to shift from a park operating range to another operating range; receiving a park pawl position signal from the park sensor; determining if pull out of the park pawl from the park position has not occurred by a predetermined time; and increasing one of a line pressure, a clutch pressure, and an idle speed if pull out of the park pawl from the park position has not occurred by the predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 9399461
Abstract: A control system for a modular hybrid electric vehicle operates an internal combustion engine at a torque level above the driver demanded torque improving the engine's efficiency. A traction motor driveably connected to the engine is operated at a torque level such that the combined torque satisfies the driver demand. The traction motor torque is limited to avoid inefficient combinations of speed and torque at which the motor is inefficient. During idle operation, the traction motor is operated at a torque determined from a battery state of charge and the engine is operated to maintain a predetermined speed. If the engine speed drops below a threshold, motor torque is adjusted to reduce the load on the engine to avoid stalling.
