Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a system for controlling combustion air supply, in which the air supply to the primary and secondary air supply can be infinitely variable. The object is also to enable said system to be retrofitted in furnaces having a primary and a secondary air supply. To achieve this, a housing (1) having an internal, pot-shaped insert (5) provided with radial openings (9; 10) associated with either the primary air supply (7) or the secondary air supply (8) of the furnace is located between the furnace and the supply line for the combustion air, the cross-sections of said openings being infinitely variable via a pivotally mounted (17) motion link, the rotary angle of which is restricted by one or more stops (19). The motion link (17) is actuated by means of a drive unit (13) which in turn can be controlled by a control unit (23).

Abstract: The invention disclosed herein relates to methods for controlling pressurized air streams within a food-processing oven. In this invention, two or more pressurized air streams are caused to collide creating a turbulent airflow in a third and separate direction. One or more dampers are used to control the location and direction of the third resultant flow allowing treated air to be moved at designated speeds to and from specific locations within the oven for controlled lengths of time. The resulting airflow may be directed horizontally across horizontally laid product or vertically across vertically hung products thereby minimizing times where treated air is blocked by the either product or its support racks. This yields improved product uniformity, consistency, temperature, and moisture content while improving food safety and product yield with reduced processing time.

Abstract: The present invention provides a regenerator having magneto caloric material (MCM) configured with flow channels for the passage of a heat transfer fluid through the MCM. The flow channels are created by positioning elongate elements of the MCM adjacent to each other. The elongate elements provide surface area necessary for heat transfer while the flow channels reduce the pressure drop incurred by the heat transfer fluid as it flows through the regenerator. The elongate elements can also be configured with MCM having different Curie temperatures (e.g., different Curie temperature ranges) in order to accommodate a variety of ambient conditions in which the regenerator may be used.
