Abstract: An improved weapon mount system for night vision system includes a cage-like structure receiving the body of a night vision system, such as a night vision monocular. A mounting shoe is attached to the base and cage halves secure the body of the night vision system. The mounting shoe of the present mount provides a lower profile than an integral mounting member on the night vision system that is used to attach the night vision system to a helmet/head worn mount. In one aspect, by lowering the weapon mounting height of the night vision device, the night vision system can be mounted at an appropriate height for use in front of an optical scope. In another aspect one aspect, lowering the weapon mounting height of the night vision device allows the night vision system to be mounted at an appropriate height for use on a helmet mounting system in a binocular system having a thermal camera or other type of viewing device.

The length of each pair of anode and cathode pins varies to help create multiple trigger points across the length of the cartridge. The chemical primer provides ignition of propellant in absence of the electric power. Application of high voltage electric pulse across the electrodes generates electric arcs between the pairs at multiple points inside cartridge resulting in instantaneous combustion of the propellant creating a high pressure in the cartridge case which improves the projectile's performance. The electric arcs generated will continue even after the chemical primer is exhausted thus enabling primer to continuously burn the propellant ensuring complete combustion.

Abstract: A system and method for inertial sensing using large momentum transfer atom interferometry. Certain examples include applying a ?/2-?-?/2 sequence to a cloud of atoms that produces 2?k momentum splitting, and applying at least one augmentation pulse to the cloud of atoms to increase the momentum splitting. For instance, examples include atom optics that are based on stimulated Raman transitions and adiabatic rapid passage that produce momentum splittings of at least 30 photon recoil momenta in a Mach-Zhender interferometer. In some examples, substantial recapture of the atoms allows for higher data rates.

Abstract: A mobile platform includes one or more haptic feedback elements that are positioned in regions of the mobile platform that are proximate to a facial region of a user. By way of example, the haptic feedback elements may be electric force elements that overlay a display. The mobile platform is capable of determining a current location and receiving a desired location, which may be, e.g., a location provided by the user, a location with superior signal strength or of another mobile platform. The mobile platform determines directions from the present location to the current location and translates the direction in to control signals. Haptic signals are produced to the facial region of the user by the haptic feedback elements in response to the control signals, thereby providing the directions to the user.

Abstract: A system and method for locating, tracking, and/or monitoring the status of personnel and/or assets (collectively “trackees”), both indoors and outdoors, is provided. Tracking data obtained from any number of sources utilizing any number of tracking methods (e.g., inertial navigation and signal-based methods) may be provided as input to a mapping application. The mapping application may generate position estimates for trackees using a suite of mapping tools to make corrections to the tracking data. The mapping application may further use information from building data, when available, to enhance position estimates. Indoor tracking methods including, for example, sensor fusion methods, map matching methods, and map building methods may be implemented to take tracking data from one or more trackees and compute a more accurate tracking estimate for each trackee.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for determining the misalignment between a device and a pedestrian, wherein the pedestrian can carry, hold, or use the device in different orientations in a constrained or unconstrained manner, and wherein the device includes an optical sensor or camera. The optical sensors have a corresponding frame for the optical sensors' axes. The misalignment between the device and the pedestrian means the misalignment between the frame of the optical sensor assembly or camera in the device and the frame of the pedestrian. The present method and apparatus can work whether in the presence or in the absence of absolute navigational information updates (such as, for example, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or WiFi positioning).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and system for providing and enhanced navigation solution of a device within a platform (such as for example person, vehicle, or vessel of any type), wherein the device is within the platform and may be strapped or non-strapped to the platform, wherein in case of non-strapped the mobility of the device may be constrained or unconstrained within the platform, wherein the enhancement of the navigation solution is through multiple sensor assemblies, wherein the multiple sensors assemblies are not necessarily all on the device, and wherein the multiple sensors assemblies are within the platform. This method works for a navigation solution utilizing measurements from sensors (such as for example, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers etc.) whether in the presence or in the absence of absolute navigational information (such as, for example, GNSS or WiFi positioning).

Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating travel sheds which show the area reachable in a given amount of time by different modes of transport. A travel shed may consist of a series of polygons or other geometric shapes showing areas which are reachable from a given address or location within a specified travel time by utilizing a specified mode of transport (e.g. driving, biking, walking, public transportation, etc.). Techniques are disclosed for enabling the rapid calculations of travel times. In one embodiment, the rapid generation of travel times and associated travel sheds may be enabled by performing a number of pre-processing steps (e.g. downsampling, progressive road type removal, etc.) on road graph data. The pre-processing steps reduce the size of the road graph while still preserving enough of the road graph to generate accurate travel sheds. One example use of travel sheds is to enable searching for points of interest (e.g. homes, apartments, hotels, restaurants, schools, parks, etc.

Abstract: A current location measured by a GPS receiver is defined as a base location. Individual points fairly near to the base location that are located on roads whose distances from the base location fall within a predetermined distance are set as candidate points. A distance between the base location and a candidate point to be evaluated is calculated. In a case where the distance is larger than a threshold value statistically estimated from a history of calculated distances between the base location and previously set candidate points that draw a trajectory on a road leading to the candidate point to be evaluated, the threshold value defining a rough upper limit of a distribution range of distances between the base location and the candidate points, it is judged that a true current location is not located on the road in which the candidate point is located.
