Abstract: Methods and apparatus for splitting an electronically-generated check among several people. A group of people may order goods or services using a customer device associated with each customer. The orders are sent to a point-of-sale server which creates a combined accounting of the orders of a group of people. When the group is ready to check out, they may apportion items from the combined accounting to simulated checks displayed on each of the customer devices. Then, each person may pay their bill individually.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating payment for online purchases is disclosed. The system allows consumers/customers who shop online to select, at the time of checkout, direct payment from an account as the payment option. An electronic bill (ebill), independent of any confidential financial information pertaining to the consumer, is automatically displayed and emailed to the consumer. The consumer pays the ebill at their bank the same way they pay their utility bill, which then results in a payment confirmation sent from the bank to the payee. Payment information from the bank is sent to the system to update the purchase transactions. Once the payment information is processed, the consumer and merchant accounts are balanced and both receive automatic notification of the payment.

Abstract: Systems and method for managing a construction payment process. When instructions are executed by a processor, an application server determines a date on which a draw is to occur for a construction project and generates a notification. The notification includes an indication of the date on which the draw will occur and an invitation to initiate a request for payment to be included in the draw. The application server then determines a plurality of participants associated with the construction project to be included in the draw and transmits the notification to the determined plurality of participants. The application server initiates the draw on the determined date and at least one participant of the determined plurality of participants receives a payment in the draw.

This technology requires installation of identification tags, such as RFID tags, on vehicles, which actively or passively emit identification signals conveying vehicle identifiers. When a vehicle arrives on premises of a merchant, a vehicle identifier can be acquired by an electronic device from the vehicle. This allows for verifying the vehicle and obtaining relevant vehicle information. Once the vehicle is identified, the electronic device can cause performing a monetary or non-monetary transaction for goods or services provided by the merchant to the driver or owner of the vehicle. The transaction is performed by a payment processing service deployed on a server in accordance with one or more predetermined rules and against a vehicle owner's account maintained by a database of registered vehicles.

Currency ratings are a function parameters, each parameter being the numerical value of a time series data set: amount of currency in circulation, the number of times a currency is used in transactions, number of different users accepting the currency, back-up level (redeemability) of currency and market value of the currency. These five main parameters can be combined so as to arrive at independent variables, each independent variable having a different weight in the determination of currency ratings; the weights (coefficients) themselves can be customized by the operator of the system.

Abstract: In a computer-implemented method for providing biometric security for mobile loyalty services via a native mobile application a physical location of a mobile device are accessed by a single native mobile application executing on the mobile device, wherein the physical location is accessed in response to a user initiating access to the mobile loyalty services. A time corresponding to a determination of the physical location of the mobile device is accessed. A date corresponding to a determination of the physical location of the mobile device is accessed. Biometrics of the user of the mobile device is accessed. Biometric security of the single native mobile application is provided based on the physical location, the time corresponding to a determination of the physical location of said mobile device, the dare corresponding to a determination of the physical location of the mobile device, and the biometrics of the user.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of providing a computer-implemented system and method that provides a secure universal electronic transaction card-based payment system. The system provides consumers the ability to conveniently, securely and safely use a single physical universal electronic transaction card, in a standard ISO-7810 credit card form factor that will be accepted at any standard POS device. A multiplicity of transaction account numbers, applets and or tokens are stored in a secure element from which the consumer can transact from any of their credit, debit, pre-paid, club access cards, gift cards, rewards and loyalty cards accounts, using either, Mag Stripe, EMV, or NFC at existing POS terminals, in such a way that only the legitimate owner of the electronic transaction card can activate, provision and unlock the electronic transaction card for use via biometric identification.

Abstract: A funding source is provided by each of a plurality of users for setting up an electronic shared payment pool. A policy governing rights or obligations of each of the users is set up. The includes: for each user, a respective threshold for enabling funds to be pulled automatically from the funding source of said user. The electronic shared payment pool is created based on the respective funding sources and the policy. A detection is made that a user is requesting to use the electronic shared payment pool to pay for a prospective transaction. In response to the detection, funds are pulled from the funding sources into the electronic shared payment pool. The funds are pulled automatically without requiring an approval from each of the users as long as the pulled amount is below the threshold for that user. The prospective transaction is facilitated using the electronic shared payment pool.

Abstract: A method and system to digitize printed information on a business card and to link the digitized data to a social networking service, referred to as a Meeting-Spot (or simply an MSP) service, employs quick response codes (QRCs) to uniquely identify business cards printed with a QRC. An online MSP service offers a free MSP app, which is installable on mobile devices. The MSP service will offer a plurality of MSP business cards to its members. A QRC image is printed on at least one side of an MSP business card. Further, the data encoded in the QRC on an MSP business card comprise at least an identifier to uniquely identify a business card. The identifier encoded in the QRC printed on an MSP business card may be a UUID (universal unique identifier), which complies with the identifier standard set by the Open Software Foundation (OSF). Optionally, the identifier is replaced by a proprietary hash code that can uniquely identify a business card.

The method may include the steps of receiving election results data, aggregating the election results data into a plurality of subsets, calculating a respective hypergeometric cumulative distribution function (CDF) score to define an outlier impact magnitude for each of the plurality of subsets, and ranking the plurality of subsets using the respective hypergeometric CDF score for each of the plurality of subsets. The resultant ranking may define an audit priority for each of the precincts involved in an election of interest. An election report including the audit priority may be displayed to an election stakeholder.

Abstract: Compliance with retail display regulations that retailers are subject to within a plurality of jurisdictions is managed. Retail display regulations may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. To facilitate compliance, retail display regulations for a plurality of jurisdictions are centrally maintained. The regulations may then be used to dynamically generate retail display materials for locations across a plurality of jurisdictions with different regulatory schemes. The central storage and/or maintenance of the retail display regulations may facilitate compliance with disparate regulatory schemes that retailers are subject to based in part of retail location. Central storage of the retail display regulations may facilitate certification of compliance by regulating entities associated with the jurisdictions.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for product anti-counterfeiting is implemented at a computer server that is communicatively connected to a client terminal. The computer server receives a product authentication message from the client terminal and determines a total number of times that the product has been authenticated based, at least in part, on the product authentication message. When the total number of times is less than a predefined threshold level, the computer server generates a new product authentication record for the product from the product authentication message and identifies one or more existing product authentication records generated from past product authentication messages associated with the product. Based on comparing the new and existing product authentication records, the computer server generates and returns an authentication result message to the client terminal, the authentication result message including information derived from at least one existing product authentication record.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to defining and implementing a manifest that governs configuration of a targeted marketplace store and to providing customized content offerings in a targeted marketplace store according to a targeted store manifest. In one scenario, a computer system defines a semantics model that includes semantics used to generate a targeted store manifest. The computer system then generates the manifest using the defined semantics model. The manifest includes settings for the content offerings that are to be provided in the targeted marketplace store including an indication of an audience to which the targeted marketplace store is to be deployed. The computer system further interprets the manifest to dynamically deploy a targeted store using the settings specified in the manifest, so that the content offerings provided in the marketplace are customized to the audience indicated in the manifest.
