Abstract: The present invention provides a composition for sponge rubber including 2 to 6 parts by mass of polyethylene, 0.5 to 12 parts by mass of baking soda as a foaming agent, and a sulfur vulcanizing agent with respect to 100 parts by mass of an ethylene-?olefin-nonconjugated diene copolymer.

Abstract: A hollow polymer particle includes a structure body that contains a structure including (1) a core polymer formed by copolymerizing a monomer mixture (a) consisting of 20 to 60% by weight of an acid group-containing monomer and 80 to 40% by weight of another monomer that is copolymerizable with the acid group-containing monomer and (2) a shell polymer formed by copolymerizing a monomer mixture (b) consisting of 0 to 15% by weight of an acid group-containing monomer and 100 to 85% by weight of another monomer that is copolymerizable with the acid group-containing monomer so that the shell polymer substantially surrounding the core polymer. The structure body has at least one void formed by neutralization of at least one portion of an acid group contained in the core polymer. The hollow polymer particle is obtained by adding a preservative during a time period after formation of the core polymer and before formation of the shell polymer.
Abstract: Process of decolorizing dyed thermoplastics are provided that includes intermixing a dyed thermoplastic with a decolorization agent solution at a temperature that maintains the crystalline structure of the thermoplastic. The processes for the first time are capable of removing substantial portions of dye from the thermoplastic providing a material that is suitable for recycling processes and use in subsequent recycled articles.
Abstract: A composite material for manufacturing a device for containment of a cryogenic liquid and a device for containment of a cryogenic liquid which comprises at least one layer made of this composite material. Abstract: A rubber composition comprises a reinforcing filler and a diene elastomer bearing imidazole functional groups along the chain which are randomly distributed along the chain. Such a composition exhibits an improved compromise in certain properties such as stiffness in the cured state and hysteresis.

Abstract: A method for treating an oil spill includes providing a polystyrene-based sorbent in the form of polystyrene microfibers having a sorption capacity in the range of between 30 g/g to 217 g/g, measured as grams of oil sorbed per one gram of the sorbent; drenching the polystyrene microfibers in the oil spill to be treated; collecting the oil drenched polystyrene microfibers; and removing excess oil from the oil drenched polystyrene microfibers by compressing the microfibers. The method further includes dissolving the oil drenched polystyrene microfibers in a petroleum-based solvent in the form of gasoline having an octane number of ninety one, in which both the oil drenched polystyrene microfibers and the oil is soluble, thereby forming a solution comprising the gasoline having dissolved therein the polystyrene microfibers and the oil; and utilising the solution as a feedstock for feeding a refinery.

The composite pigment particles contain pigment particles such as titanium dioxide and precipitated aluminum hydroxide and are manufactured by in-situ precipitation of aluminum hydroxide in an aqueous pigment particle suspension. Use of the composite pigment particles according to the invention, based on titanium dioxide, permits savings on pigment with little or no loss of optical properties. Abstract: Disclosed are hydrophobic finish compositions and cementitious articles made with the hydrophobic finish compositions. In some embodiments, the article is a waterproof gypsum panel surface reinforced with inorganic mineral fibers that face a flexible and hydrophobic cementitious finish possessing beneficial waterproofing properties. The waterproof gypsum panels of the invention have many uses, such as, tilebacker board in wet or dry areas of buildings, exterior weather barrier panel for use as exterior sheathing, and roof cover board having water durability and low surface absorption.
