Abstract: The invention concerns an adjustable bed comprising a frame and at least one adjustable body support section including an adjustable backrest support section pivotally mounted for angular adjustment with respect to the frame. The frame comprises at least two sections including an upper body section on which the back rest is mounted and a separate lower body section. The upper and lower body sections are capable of being joined together to provide a full length adjustable bed. The invention provides an adjustable bed that can be stored and transported in two parts (plus mattress), which provides for ease of storage, display, delivery and installation.

The adjustable foundation includes independently adjustable lumbar and/or neck support structures on an adjustable back/head section of the adjustable bed foundation. Abstract: What is provided is an apparatus and a method of using an apparatus for dividing a bed. This apparatus is durable, readily removable, and provides a greater degree of privacy to bedmates than existing solutions. The apparatus comprises a cushion entirely enclosed within a fitted sheet. The fitted sheet with the cushion are positioned on the top of a mattress. The fitted sheet comprises at least one zipper for creating an opening to insert and remove the cushion from the fitted sheet, at least one fastener for attaching and detaching the cushion from the fitted sheet, and at least one flap. The cushion may be entirely enclosed within and attached to the fitted sheet prior to positioning both the fitted sheet and the cushion on the mattress.

Abstract: A bed base capable of fixing mattress includes a base frame and a fixation member. The base frame includes at least one insertion hole. The fixation member includes at least one horizontally extended part, at least one insertion part downwardly extended from an end of the horizontally extended part, and a stopper part upwardly extended from the other end of the horizontally extended part. The insertion part is inserted into the insertion hole of the base frame, the horizontally extended part is placed on a top surface of the base frame, and the stopper part is used to stop at a side edge of the mattress. Therefore, the assembly or disassembly of the fixation member can be achieved without tool assistance.

Abstract: A multiple layer mattress system is disclosed which addresses the issue of degradation of the elasticity of a foam mattress core. In one embodiment, the multiple layer mattress is formed with split layers; namely, one or more comfort layers and one or more support layers. Each layer is encased with an encasement which includes complementary chiral zippers to enable the comfort layer and the support layer to be removably secured together. The chiral zippers allow the various layers to be rotated 180° relative to each other and reconnected thereto. Layers can also be added to the mattress or replaced to suit a user's comfort level. Optionally, a separate cover may be selectively secured to the top of a comfort layer and/or the bottom of the support layer for accessories. The optional bottom accessory cover may be used to provide active or passive maneuvering of the support layer relative to a foundation.

Abstract: Mosquito bed net assembly 10a-h includes a mosquito bed net (12) impregnated with a first insecticide and a barrier member 16a-h located above an upper surface (14) of the bed net (12) and being impregnated with a second insecticide. In use, bed net assembly 16a-h increases the likelihood of delivering a lethal dosage of insecticide to mosquitoes flying in frequently-visited areas of a bed net, without increased attendant health risk to a user.

Abstract: A dispenser is provided for storing and individually dispensing cylindrical containers in a vertical orientation. The dispenser includes an upper chamber having a ramp sloping downward toward a back of the dispenser, which receives the containers loaded in a vertical orientation at a front of the dispenser. The containers move down the upper chamber ramp by gravity to an opening at a back end of the dispenser, through which the containers pass to a lower chamber. The lower chamber has a ramp sloping downward toward the front of the dispenser. The containers move down the lower chamber ramp by gravity to a dispensing position at the front of the dispenser. A latch is positioned at a back portion of the upper chamber to restrict passage of the containers so that they pass through the opening one at a time as containers are removed from the dispensing position.

Abstract: An article divider assembly is provided with a support bracket adapted to be mounted to a retail display. A divider member extends from the support bracket and is sized to extend between a pair of articles at an upper region of the pair of articles to divide the articles without blocking an outward face of the articles. The divider member comprises a proximal end mounted to the support bracket and a distal end extending away from the support bracket. A display bracket is mounted to the distal end of the divider member.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a thermally insulating stretchable down feather sheet is described. The core of the sheet is comprised of down mixed with a binder mixture which exhibits elastic properties. The binder mixture consists of heat fusible stretchable glue particles and heat fusible elastomeric binding strands in dry form. The core is sandwiched between a bottom and a top stretchable elastomeric sheet having multi-directional stretchability. The core of down and the binder as well as the elastomeric sheet are bound together by heat treatment to provide a down insulating sheet which is stretchable in all directions without fractioning the sheet and which is capable of recovering substantially its original relaxed form after stretching or deformation.

Abstract: A sheet is provided that functions as a flat sheet but that can be fitted to one end of a mattress and held securely in place in a similar manner as a fitted sheet. The sheet allows a person making a bed to quickly and easily position the sheet in a centered position on the mattress and firmly secure the sheet in place.

The body is formed of an elastomeric material and defines a hollow pocket with an open end and an aperture or scored region. Lids in accordance with aspects of the invention are capable of capturing and suspending straws, and preventing spills.

At least 60% of a bottom surface of the cushioning element is exposed such that when the cushion is disposed over a surface at least 60% of the bottom surface of the cushioning element is in direct contact with the surface. Methods of foaming the cushion include disposing a cover adjacent a mold, conforming the cover to a selected shape of the mold, injecting molten elastomeric material into the mold, bonding the molten elastomeric material to the cover, solidifying the molten elastomeric material to form the cushioning element, and separating the mold from the cover. The cushioning element maintains the cover in the selected shape.

Abstract: A steam cooker includes a steam supply device for generating and supplying steam, and a cooking container for receiving steam from the steam supply device and cooking food contained therein, wherein the cooking container includes a first containing unit for containing food therein, a second containing unit formed to communicate with the lower portion of the first containing unit and receives steam from the steam supply device, and a cap provided on the upper portion of the first containing unit and receives steam from the steam supply device. With the steam cooker, food is supplied with steam both from above and from below, thereby evenly cooking the entire food, and condensed water, which is generated when moisture contained inside the steam is condensed, is easily discharged to the outside, thereby preventing degradation of taste of the food resulting from contact between the food and the condensed water.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling a steam chamber. In one exemplary embodiment, a steam chamber is placed in selective communication with a vacuum pump and a heat transfer medium, such as a source of deaerated water. The steam chamber is then placed in communication with the vacuum pump, which draws a vacuum on the steam chamber and begins removing air from the interior thereof. Once a sufficient vacuum has been drawn on the steam chamber and substantially all of the air removed therefrom, the steam chamber may be placed in communication with the heat transfer medium. In one exemplary embodiment, the heat transfer medium is deaerated water. A predetermined amount of heat transfer medium is then allowed to fill the steam chamber. Once the predetermined amount of deaerated water has been received within the steam chamber, a steam chamber may be sealed.

Abstract: An integrated beverage infuser and lid are adapted for use with a drinking vessel for brewing a consumable product, such as tea, in the drinking vessel, such as a travel mug or insulated tumbler. The lid includes a main body adapted for removable attachment to the drinking vessel. A fluid-permeable brewing basket defines an enclosable receptacle for removable receipt of the brewing product. The basket is movable between a stowed position, close to a lower surface of the main body and above the level of liquid in the drinking vessel, and a deployed position, spaced farther apart from the lower surface of the main body for submersion in the liquid contained in the drinking vessel. A flexible attachment member attaches the brewing basket to the lid main body. A sidewall recess in the main body retains the flexible attachment member when the brewing basket is in the stowed position.

In the beverage preparation apparatus, as a time period TD has elapsed since start of heating by the heater, drive of the motor for milling is started.

Abstract: A hot beverage maker is provided with a removable pump for cleaning a brewing needle. The pump fits into a brewing chamber which normally receives a pod of an infusible beverage material. A pod receptacle and a lid pivotally connected to the housing form the brewing chamber. After a brewing cycle or when cleaning of the brewing needle is desired, an interior chamber of the pump is filled with cleaning fluid and the pump inserted into the pod receptacle. When the lid is closed, the brewing needle is inserted into the interior chamber. The lid is closed and released repeatedly to operate the pump. This creates a pumping action of the cleaning fluid through the brewing needle to dislodge a buildup of minerals or residual deposits. The used cleaning fluid and dislodged deposits are discarded after the cleaning operation is completed.

Abstract: A grilling insert is adapted for use in a barbecue grill having a recessed cooking chamber. The grilling insert comprises a double-wall thermal barrier and a radiant heat chamber. The double-wall thermal barrier is adapted for extending across the recessed cooking chamber of the barbecue grill, and for dividing the cooking chamber into direct-heating and indirect-heating cooking sections. The radiant heat chamber is formed adjacent the double-wall thermal barrier, and is designed for holding loose combustible material within the direct-heating cooking section of the barbecue grill. The cooking temperature in the direct-heating cooking section is relatively high, and is reduced in the indirect-heating cooking section by the double-wall thermal barrier.

Abstract: Implementations of a food fryer are provided. In some implementations, the food fryer comprises a body portion, a stand, burners, and a drain. In some implementations, the body portion of the food fryer may be a curved hollow tube having an opening on each end. The body portion is configured to hold liquids therein for the purpose of frying or cooking food. In some implementations, the food fryer may include a storage container comprised of a body portion, a lid, and two extension members. In the first heat exchanger arrangement, a heat exchange tube is in heat flow communication with a combustion chamber wherein an associated gaseous fuel burner is at least in part housed. The second heat exchanger arrangement includes at least a first side heat exchanger disposed externally adjacent the first side of the frying fluid vat. The side heat exchanger(s) may permit intake of an oxygen-containing gas such to preheat the oxygen-containing gas prior to entrance into the combustion chamber.

The flame guiding block is mounted in the inlet hole of the connecting base and abuts the protrusions of the abutting ribs. The insulating mounts are mounted on the connecting base, and respectively abut the abutting ribs around the flame guiding block.

Abstract: The techniques described herein provide, in one embodiment, a rapid-agitation mixer for food products that comprises a product holder configured to hold a sealed product cup containing a food product to be mixed, and a drive shaft along an agitation axis, the drive shaft configured to secure the product holder and product cup in place. The illustrative mixer also comprises a drive motor configured to reciprocate the drive shaft in opposing directions, where the product holder correspondingly reciprocates the product cup to churn the food product within the product cup.

Abstract: A modular spice rack. The modular spice rack includes a base having an upper side securable to the underside of a kitchen cabinet via one or more fasteners. The base further includes a lower side having plurality of channels disposed thereon. A plurality of containers are removably securable to the base. Each container includes a top portion having a projection disposed thereon. The container projection is configured to slidably engage with the channel, allowing the containers to hang from the base. The container further includes an upper opening for inserting spices and other materials into the container. A lower portion of the container includes a dispensing mechanism for dispensing spices and other materials held within the container. The modular spice rack allows users to arrange spices according to personal preference and provides for easy access to spices during cooking.

Abstract: The invention includes a shower hob apparatus, a method of constructing a shower hob, and a shower hob, for at least one side of a shower cubicle. The shower hob apparatus includes a base portion and a screen retaining portion. The base portion is affixed to a floor surface and has a waterproof layer applied thereon. Tile bedding and tiles may then be constructed on top of the base portion. The resultant shower hob is formed as part of a tiled floor, and provides a relatively strong and low profile shower hob compared to previous shower hobs.

Abstract: A shower curtain restrainer for use with a shower curtain, includes an elongated body having an engagement end and an opposing weight end. An engagement member is coupled to the engagement end and is couplable to the shower curtain intermediate a top edge and a bottom edge thereof. A weight element is coupled to the weight end. When coupled to a shower curtain, a fulcrum point is formed at a rim of a bathtub contacted by the elongated body intermediate the engagement end and the weight end. This fulcrum imparts a horizontal force on the attached shower curtain, outwardly toward the rim.

Abstract: A wall mounted body cleaning system includes a perimeter wall and a water outlet mounted on the perimeter wall. A mount is positioned on the perimeter wall and a housing is attached to the mount. An impeller is positioned within the housing and the housing has a drain opening therein. A conduit is fluidly coupled to the housing and to the water outlet. Water flowing through the conduit rotates the impeller and exits the housing through a drain in the housing. An axle is attached to the impeller and extends through the housing. A cleaning member is mounted on the axle and is rotated when the impeller rotates.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling odors in an enclosed space, such as a pit latrine, include providing an oxidizer, such as a catalytic heater and an optional mechanical ventilation unit, such as an inline fan, both flow connected to a vault (pit) of the latrine. The heater is also connected to a source of fuel, for example, propane. Fresh air is drawn through vents in the latrine housing and thereafter through toilets in the latrine and through the vault, providing oxygen for the reaction. The fan and/or oxidation process draws both fresh air and accompanying odorous compounds directly from the latrine and into the oxidizer wherein the odorous components are substantially destroyed.

Abstract: A cleaning cloth comprises a base fabric layer, a pile comprising a plurality of strands or loops extending from a first side of the base fabric layer, and a plurality of generally spherical mini-dots applied to the first side of the base fabric layer. Each mini-dot is preferably made of an acrylic paint and is applied in liquid from to at least one side of the base fabric layer. When the mini-dots harden or set, the mini-dots encapsulate one or more strands or loops of the pile.

Abstract: A cleaning mitt for receiving a hand of a user to clean and wipe flat and irregular surfaces is provided. The cleaning mitt includes first ply member attached a second ply member to form an interior volume, and a recessed opening that allows access to the interior volume. The interior volume is partitioned by a divider into a finger receiving region and a thumb receiving region. A webbed region is formed between the finger and thumb receiving region. Some embodiments include a cleaning mitt constructed from a fluid absorbing material. In alternative embodiments, the cleaning mitt further includes a textured region having an abrasive pad and one or more protruding members positioned on one of the ply members for removing dirt and debris. In other embodiments, the cleaning mitt contains a perforation line that forms a breakable attachment to a second cleaning mitt.
