  • Patent number: 9446555
Abstract: The invention relates to providing a hot wedge welding machine which may eliminate the thermal dampening that occurs to a welding element when the material to be welded is first introduced into the welding machine. The invention relates to cooling the welding element to stimulate a heating system to heat the welding element to the desired temperature. The artificial cooling stress provided by a cooling system is removed generally at the same time genuine cooling stress of the material is applied to the welding element. This results in the welding element maintaining a consistent temperature when the material is introduced into the welding machine.

  • Patent number: 9446570
Abstract: Concave portions filled with particles of high-absorbent resin are arranged on a side surface of a cylinder part in its circumferential direction. When each concave portion passes about the lowermost portion, the particles are ejected. A first roller conveys a first sheet member so that the first sheet member passes near the above lowermost portion. A second roller is located anterior to the above lowermost portion with respect to a moving direction of the side surface of the cylinder part at the above lowermost portion, and conveys a second sheet member to the vicinity of the above lowermost portion, to place the second sheet member on the first sheet member which has been supplied with particles. In the second roller, annular grooves are formed on the side surface. Therefore, impact on particles which collide with the second sheet member on the second roller is absorbed and scattering of particles is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9446596
Abstract: In an inkjet printer, there has been a problem in that a recording medium is charged with electricity due to friction and separation at the time of conveyance of the recording medium, and ink mist is attracted to a portion charged with electricity to have an unexpected pattern to be recorded. In view of this problem, static electricity generated on the recording medium is removed by providing a carriage with an ionizer for generating a positive ion and an ionizer for generating a negative ion and generating the ions at the time of scan of the carriage. Through the arrangement of the ionizers for generating the ions of both polarities, namely, the positive ion and the negative ion, on the carriage, and on/off control on the ions to be generated in each scan, an amount of ions to be supplied per unit area of the recording medium can be made uniform, with the result that the static electricity can be removed efficiently.

  • Patent number: 9446599
Abstract: An automatic product sublimation process is disclosed allowing for point-of-sale customization of sublimation parameters in a retail environment. A dye sublimation transfer printing system is configured to print one or more images onto transfer media, then position the media onto a substrate. A selected product is positioned on top of the media. The system is configured to automatically determine, by a processor, one or more of a temperature and duration of a single thermal cycle to sublimate the one or more images onto the selected product. The determination may be based on properties of the product, characteristics of the images, or both. One or more heating platens engage the transfer media to sublimate the product in a single thermal cycle, wherein at least one of the cycle's temperature and duration match the determined values. The disclosed process improves the quality of the sublimation technique, yet requires no substantive operator training.
