In one example, an apparatus includes an interface module that receives an input click pattern from an input device. The apparatus also includes a comparison module that compares the input click pattern to a user defined click pattern. The apparatus includes an execution module that performs a user defined action corresponding to the user defined click pattern in response to the input click pattern matching the user defined click pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2015Publication date: October 6, 2016Inventors: Joel L. Masser, David C. Reed, Max D. Smith

Publication number: 20160291706Abstract: The disclosed technology provides for a device and method related to powering an electronic stylus with a removable, integrated battery that acts as a structural segment and external casing along the long axis of the stylus body. The integrated battery incorporates interlocking features, which removes the need for an external tube around a battery cell. As a result, the electronic stylus has one structural component performing multiple functions (e.g., providing power, functioning as the stylus casing), which achieves a more lightweight and compact electronic stylus. The placement of the battery along the long axis can vary to provide comfortable weight distribution for writing, which can involve an interlocking interface at one end of the battery or at both ends of the battery (e.g., to interlock with one or both ends of the electronic stylus).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2015Publication date: October 6, 2016Inventor: Tristan Thomas Trutna

Publication number: 20160291707Abstract: Devices are described herein that include an electrode having a thickness to, among other things, facilitate tracking. For example, the thickness of an electrode that is included in a device may be configured to cause a midpoint of a projection of the electrode on a sensor matrix to track a point on the device (or on a portion thereof, such as the electrode) that is closest to the sensor matrix. In another example, the thickness may be configured to cause a location of the electrode that is detected by the sensor matrix to track a point on the device (or on a portion thereof, such as the electrode) that is closest to the sensor matrix.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2015Publication date: October 6, 2016Inventor: Justin A. Publication number: 20160291708Abstract: For interpreting a click action, an apparatus includes a touch panel, a processor, and a memory that stores code, executable by the processor, including code that: determines a number of touch points for a click action of the touch panel, determines a touch force for each touch point of the click action, identifies a number of click points for the click action based on the touch force of each touch point, and outputs a click event based on the number of click points. The apparatus may also include code that determines a click location associated with the click action, in response to the number of click points being one, and compares the click location to a first area, wherein outputting a click event includes outputting a primary click event, in response to the click location being within the first area.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2015Publication date: October 6, 2016Inventor: Xin Feng
