  • Patent number: 9463472
Abstract: A separator unit having a panel-shaped separator electrode on which at least one separator surface is formed for the overspray. A feed device ensures that a separator liquid can be fed to the separator surface of the separator electrode. It has a channel that can be filled with the separator liquid, and a removal device which can remove separator liquid from the channel. The latter includes a shape-changing, flexible and/or elastic expansion element arranged in the channel, which at least partially delimits a closed cavity. The removal device includes a pump device with which a pressure medium can be pushed into the closed cavity. As a result of the volume expansion of the closed cavity when “pumping up” said expansion element, separator liquid is displaced over the edges of the channel and from here it can be conducted onto the separator surface of the separator electrode in a suitable manner.

Abstract: In order to facilitate side extraction of the roller holder cartridge (3) in a rolling mill stand (100), the strokes of the hydraulic capsules needed to take the pistons of the same clear from the trajectory traveled by the roller holder cartridge (3) during the extraction of the same from the rolling mill, may reach values indicatively between 150 and 400 mm, values which can negatively affect response times of the position control system of said capsules (4?). In order to continue to apply the same capsule control methods but with a considerably more dynamic system capable of rapidly and accurately reacting to sudden changes of pressure, the servo valves in the control circuits are of the four-way type, instead of the three-way type.

  • Patent number: 9463498
Abstract: An apparatus and method of uniformly heating, rheologically softening, and thermoplastically forming metallic glasses rapidly into a net shape using a rapid capacitor discharge forming (RCDF) tool are provided. The RCDF method utilizes the discharge of electrical energy stored in a capacitor to uniformly and rapidly heat a sample or charge of metallic glass alloy to a predetermined “process temperature” between the glass transition temperature of the amorphous material and the equilibrium melting point of the alloy in a time scale of several milliseconds or less. Once the sample is uniformly heated such that the entire sample block has a sufficiently low process viscosity it may be shaped into high quality amorphous bulk articles via any number of techniques including, for example, injection molding, dynamic forging, stamp forging, sheet forming, and blow molding in a time frame of less than 1 second.

Abstract: For aging deformation of a reaction vessel used for production of titanium sponge by the Kroll method, the deformation of the reaction vessel can be corrected to a desired deformation. The apparatus for correcting the deformation corrects by being inserted inside of the cylindrical deformation of the reaction vessel, the apparatus has multiple cylinder arms radially extendable to a circumference, a deformation-correcting head arranged on a top part of the cylinder arm, a hydraulic power unit connected to the cylinder arm and driving the deformation-correcting head, a detecting means for the stroke of the deformation-correcting head, and a measuring means for the pressing force against the reaction vessel. Furthermore, the method for correcting the deformation of the reaction vessel using the apparatus has a step of pressing the reaction vessel while adjusting stroke of the deformation-correcting head depending on an amount of deformation of the reaction vessel.

  • Patent number: 9463501
Abstract: A press forming method forming an extended part by extension in a later forming period after deep drawing, the deep drawing process carried out with working at 100-250° C., and the extension forming process carried out colder at less than 50° C., whereby the extended part is formed by extension in a cup shaped low parts formed by deep drawing. Thus, press forming products containing formed elements can be deep drawing formed and extension formed at a high forming rate of 10 mm/sec or greater, which can assure high productivity. By making a steel plate temperature 100-350° C. during press forming and by making the forming rate in the later forming period where extension forming is carried out slower than the forming rate in an earlier forming period where extension forming is not carried out, cracking of the extended part can be prevented and press forming limitations can be improved.

Abstract: A method of making a spanner comprises the steps of preparing a flat metal blank, forging and pressing a part of the metal blank to form a head and a shank whose width is smaller than a width of the head, pressing the head to form a first arch-shaped part, pressing a shank end of the shank to expand the shank end and then form a second arch-shaped part, and pressing the head and the shank end again to remove redundant scrap projecting from the first arch-shaped part and the second arch-shaped part and also punch finished holes in the head and the shank end respectively, thereby completing the finished spanner. Accordingly, the method reduces the waste of the material and the processing cost, decreases the use frequency of high-cost machines and promotes the processing efficiency by using the flat metal blank.

Abstract: A die casting piston (1) for die casting nonferrous metals has at least one outer part such as a piston body (11), an intermediate ring (9), a sealing ring (7) etc. that is generally ring-shaped so as to surround a piston carrier (3) and provided with an axial slot (41, 59, 117) so that the part can expand and contract tangentially during a temperature change, e.g. from ambient temperature to operating temperature. Due to this design of the outer parts of the piston, cooling can be limited to a smaller portion of the piston, preferably substantially to the rear side of the piston cover (5; 154). The result is a substantially shortened overall construction of the die casting piston (1) that is reflected by reduced production costs. In accordance with the smaller dimensions of the cooled zone, a reduced coolant flow is required.
