The rebounding member is configured to resiliently deform between a receiving position and a rebounding position. Abstract: Systems and methods for ball spin rate measurement are described. Some embodiments provide a method whereby a phase-demodulated difference signal of a projectile in flight is received, such as from a Doppler radar system. A first periodic component of the phase-demodulated signal is detected, the first periodic component having a plurality of bipolar pulses, with each of the pulses having a first portion during which an apparent speed of the projectile is greater than a nominal speed of the projectile, and each of the pulses having a second portion during which the apparent speed of the projectile is less that the nominal speed of the projectile. A period of the first periodic component is detected, and the spin rate of the projectile in flight is determined based on the period of the first periodic component.

Abstract: The present application includes a system and method of improving a player's putting game. The system includes a target having a plurality of different sized holes adjacent its lower surface and configured to permit the passage of a rolling golf ball through the target. The target is secured in a particular orientation by one or more legs coupled to the target. The method includes a player selecting a particular hole to practice putts in one of three different distance ranges. Speed control is practiced by comparing the distance the golf ball traveled past the target to that of the length of the leg.

Abstract: This invention is an athletic protective mouthpiece and lip shield apparatus used in contact sports and is designed to attach to a helmet's chin strap. The mouthpiece, Air Channel, and Lip Shield structures are particularly designed to comfortably protect both upper and lower jaw of the athlete while removing unwanted impact stress from the front teeth (Incisors) and placing such stress to the stronger Cuspid and Molars regions of the athlete's dentures. This invention solves the problems of airflow restriction and impact stress of the front teeth from other athletic mouthpieces by removing the position of the Incisors from atop the breathing orifice to behind said orifice, whereby providing an improved larger non-condensing airway for the passing of unrestricted airflow. The apparatus is designed to pivot and operate by way of an attachment strap affixed to the Lip shield and fitted into an opening on the helmet's chin strap.

Abstract: This invention defines a new type of word puzzle for play on mobile devices. This invention identifies 3 implementations of this type of puzzle. Mobile devices include, but are not restricted to, smart phones such as the Huawei Nexus 6P and tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Game input is a set of words of the English language that, when stacked horizontally, also form words vertically. That is, the first character of each word forms a word, the second character of each word forms a word, and so on. In game play, the words have been partially constructed or scrambled, and the player's goal is to reassemble the underlying word matrix. Game play is designed for mobile devices using mobile device button taps. Game play is also explicitly designed to leverage mobile device landscape (long edge of device is horizontal) and portrait (long edge of device is vertical) modes. The rows of the word matrix in device landscape mode are the columns of the word matrix in device portrait mode.

Abstract: An educational card game, designed primarily for children. A designated deck of cards are broken into several sets, with the respective sets designated on the backs of the cards. The front of the cards has at least one colored symbol. The cards are meant to be played as one of a number of games, so that players can learn while having fun. Abstract: A video server is configured to provide streaming video to players of computer games over a computing network. The video server can provided video of different games to different players simultaneously. This is accomplished by rendering several video streams in parallel using a single GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The output of the GPU is provided to graphics processing pipelines that are each associated with a specific client/player and are dynamically allocated as needed. A client qualifier may be used to assure that only clients capable of presenting the streaming video to a player at a minimum level of quality receive the video stream. Video frames provided by the video server optionally include overlays added to the output of the GPU. These overlays can include voice data received from another game player. These overlays may be used to prevent presentation of non-allowed input controls.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to desalination systems are described herein. According to some embodiments, the desalination systems are transiently operated and/or configured to facilitate transient operation. In some embodiments, a liquid stream comprising water and at least one dissolved salt is circulated through a fluidic circuit comprising a desalination system. In some embodiments, a portion of the desalination system (e.g., a humidifier) is configured to remove at least a portion of the water from the liquid stream to produce a concentrated brine stream enriched in the dissolved salt. In certain cases, the concentrated brine stream is recirculated through the fluidic circuit until the concentrated brine stream reaches a relatively high density (e.g., at least about 10 pounds per gallon) and/or a relatively high salinity (e.g., a total dissolved salt concentration of at least about 25 wt %).
