  • Patent number: 9511706
Abstract: A restraining device including a bag filled with a ballast and sealed on all sides. When filled with predetermined amount of ballast, the restraining device is flexible and conforms to the shape of a cargo and a vehicle cargo area in a horizontal and or vertical dimension. The restraining device secures cargo in a vertical dimension while creating extra friction between the cargo and a cargo bed to prevent or reduce horizontal movement of the cargo. The restraining device interacts with cargo in a solely horizontal function by wrapping it around the horizontal base perimeter of the cargo. In this case, the friction between the restraining device and the cargo bed creates a barrier for the cargo thereby preventing or reducing horizontal movement of the cargo.

  • Patent number: 9511729
Abstract: The present invention includes systems and methods for dynamic allocation of computing resources. Computing resources on an aircraft are divided amongst several avionics applications that are responsible for controlling sub-systems on the aircraft (e.g. the navigation system). A resource manager assigns computing resources (e.g. processor cycles) to individual applications based on the present condition of the aircraft and then instructs the throttling mechanisms to allocate the computing resources among the applications. The resource manager determines the aircraft condition by correlating inputs from the aircraft to a set of rules stored in a condition table. The resource manager then determines the computing resource allocation by correlating the aircraft condition to a set of resource allocations stored in an allocation table.

The cam is rotatable about the pivot axis between a non-locking position, in which the connecting member is able to freely move between the cam and the locking member, and a locking position, in which the locking surface clamps the connecting member to the locking member to prevent any further movement of the connecting member relative to the locking member.

Abstract: A system for determining if a vehicle has been stolen includes a communication module to receive data including a location of the vehicle and a manner in which the vehicle is being driven. A comparator module compares the received location data against a database of stored locations and compares the manner in which the vehicle is being driven with previously stored driving data indicating the manner in which the vehicle was historically driven and based on this to determine if the vehicle has been stolen. A notification module issues a notification in response to the comparator module determining that the vehicle has been stolen.

Abstract: The invention relates to a wiper blade (10) designed as a flat bar with a wiper strip (12) which is held by a spring-elastic strip support element (14) that is pre-curved in a concave manner with respect to a wiper lip (16) of the wiper strip (12). One or more spoiler parts (22, 23) are attached to the support element (14) face facing away from the wiper lip (16) by means of guiding profiles (30) which cover the support element (14) from the outer longitudinal faces and project to a certain extent with respect to the outflow side (26) of the spoiler part (22, 23) and which form a groove (31) with said outflow side. A connecting element (18, 64) is fixed in the central region of the wiper blade (10) for connecting a wiper arm in an articulated manner. According to the invention, the guiding profile (30) on the outflow side (26) has a guiding ridge (32, 34, 40) on the guiding profile longitudinal face pointing outwards.

Abstract: The invention is based on a wiper blade (12) with an elongate, spring-elastic carrying element (36) which is precurved in a concave fashion with respect to a vehicle window (22) and has two spring rails (52, 66) which run parallel to one another in a plane, and having a wiper strip (24) which is held with a web (34) of its head strip (30) between the spring rails (52, 66) via the carrier element (36), said spring rails (52, 66) being inserted in longitudinal grooves (32) on both sides of the web (34), wherein the wiper strip (24) is secured in the longitudinal direction (20) relative to the carrier element (36) at least close to one of the ends of said wiper strip (24). It is proposed that the spring rails (52, 66) have, at the longitudinal sides facing one another in their end regions, clips (60, 74) with cutters (62, 76) which, in the mounted state, cut into adjoining walls of the longitudinal grooves (32).

Abstract: A lever device for actuating the parking brake of a motor-vehicle includes a lever structure with a base portion tiltably mounted on a supporting bracket. The mounting includes a first transverse axis, a second transverse axis, a third transverse axis and a fourth transverse axis. When the lever structure is in its completely lowered position, the third and fourth transverse axes are each lower than that of the first and second transverse axes, respectively. In the lowered position, two theoretical planes containing the first and third transverse axes and the second and fourth transverse axes, respectively, intersect along a theoretical axis of instantaneous rotation of the lever structure, which is located above the first and second transverse axes. When the lever structure moves to its completely raised position, the lever arm and its end handgrip displace according to a substantially elliptical, and substantially vertically oriented, path, respectively.
