Abstract: A power generating apparatus is provided. The power generating apparatus includes a body portion having an inner volume, the body portion having an intake on one end of the body portion and an outlet on an opposing end. The power generating device also includes a rotor operatively coupled within the body portion, wherein the rotor comprises an aperture extending from one end to an opposing end. Further included is a coiled wire coupled within the body portion and around the rotor, wherein the rotor rotates with respect to the coiled wire. The power generating apparatus also includes magnets coupled to the rotor proximate the coiled wire and a fan blade coupled within the rotor. As air is moved through the power generating apparatus, the fan blades turn the rotor and the magnets. However, in the conventional lash adjuster, since the plunger cap is formed with two side holes which are different in height in the axial direction of the plunger cap, it becomes complicated to regulate the side surface the plunger cap which corresponds to a sliding surface. Therefore, it is problems to be solved by the present invention to provide a lash adjuster in which the side surface of the plunger cap can be easily regulated without disturbing the inflow and outflow of oil and whose machining cost can be kept low. Abstract: A variable valve timing control device has, as control modes for adjusting inflow and outflow of oil with an OCV, a lock mode for moving a lock pin in a locking direction, a phase control mode for controlling a camshaft phase by a target phase in accordance with an operation state of an engine, and an oil filling mode for filling an advancement chamber and a retardation chamber with the oil in a state that the lock pin moves in the locking direction, before shifting from the lock mode to the phase control mode. When the oil filling mode has been selected, a target position of a spool is set based on viscosity of the oil, and the position of the spool is controlled so as to be the set target position.

Abstract: Provided is an electric-motor-driven valve timing control device for an internal combustion engine with which the valve timing control device can be operated even when a portion of coils of an electric motor has broken. The electric motor has two systems of switching brushes, each system being constructed by a set of positive-electrode and negative-electrode switching brushes. When an electricity-feeding line used for electricity-feeding to one system of the two systems has broken, the valve timing control device is configured to stop energization to the other system or reduce an energization amount to the other system, after having energized the other system of switching brushes until such time that a predetermined time has expired from a start of the engine, thus enabling the relative rotational phase of a camshaft to be converted to a phase suitable for starting.

Abstract: An exemplary method of monitoring a position of a lubricant valve in a gas turbine engine includes monitoring a position of a lubricant valve using a first auxiliary pressure reading and a second auxiliary pressure reading. The first auxiliary pressure reading is taken when a primary lubrication circuit is at a first pressure. The second auxiliary pressure reading is taken when the primary lubrication circuit is at a second pressure. An exemplary assembly that detects transitions of a lubricant valve in a gas turbine engine includes a controller that uses readings of the primary pressure and readings of the auxiliary pressure to detect a position of a lubricant valve.
