This invention creates a tight seal over the damaged area, creating a “patch” to keep out oil contaminants from the protected area. When the toilet bowl seat overlays the toilet bowl rim, the splash guard is compacted into a flat orientation on the toilet bowl rim. When the toilet bowl seat is raised and lifted, the various sections of the splash guard are rotated upward, to a vertical orientation, thereby covering the vulnerable areas of the toilet bowl rim and toilet bowl seat during urination.
