Abstract: Automatic payment code display systems and methods include a user device detecting a beacon system at a physical merchant location. The user device establishes a background communication process with the beacon system that occurs without user intervention subsequent to detecting the beacon system. The user device then provides the user account authentication token to the beacon system as part of the background communication process. The user device then receives a payment code from the beacon system as part of the background communication process. The user device then causes the payment code to be displayed, and the displayed payment code is configured to be utilized by a payment processing device at the physical merchant location in a payment transaction. The payment code may be caused to be displayed on a lock screen in a background display process that occurs without user intervention.

Abstract: Systems and methods may comprise RFID data acquisition technology which may be embedded in a fob or tag for use in completing financial transactions. This fob may a self-contained device which includes a transponder and which may be contained on any portable form factor. For instance, the tag may be housed in a wearable transaction instrument, such as an activity tracker. The tag is configured to be used in concert with an RFID reader device.

Abstract: A mobile payment method is to be implemented by a transaction device, and includes: receiving payment information, transmitting the payment information to a payment institution server, providing the payment information to a payment device, and receiving a payment result. The payment device is enabled to generate a payment request when the payment institution server determines that the payment information received from the payment device conforms to the payment information received from the transaction device, and to transmit the payment request to the payment institution server for subsequent processing of the payment according to the payment information included in the payment request.

Abstract: Methods, secure elements, validation entities, and computer program products for effecting secure communication of payment information to merchants for Internet-based purchases. Payment information for a user's real payment information is installed in a secure element of a computer, the payment information may comprise a pseudo PAN number for the portable consumer device provided by a validation entity. The secure element is shielded from the computer's operating system to thwart hacker attacks. The user accesses the secure element to make a purchase. In response, the secure element contacts the validation entity with the pseudo account number, and in response obtains dynamic payment information that the secure element can used to effect the payment. The dynamic payment information comprises an account number that is different from the pseudo PAN, and which has at least one difference which respect to the user's real payment information.

The location data may be gathered for one or more consumers from any suitable source. The gathered data may be analyzed to determine behavior patterns or other characteristics of the one or more consumers. Further, inferences or predictions about consumers may be derived based on the characteristics. The inferences and predictions may be the basis of consumer analytics supplied to a business or other entity.

Abstract: A system, method and communication device are disclosed for organizing and presenting a plurality of digital flyers. Using flyer stack information, which organizes the plurality of digital flyers into at least one flyer stack, the plurality of digital flyers are presented to allow for inter-flyer and intra-flyer navigation. Moreover, the flyer stack information may be used to allow the inter-flyer and intra-flyer content to be searched. This is achieved by providing a method and communication device that receives the flyer stack information from a server, and presents the flyer stack information in a flyer navigation interface.

The hosting infrastructure includes hosting resources used by the server computer for the benefit of at least a first host. The first host then uses the hosting resources of the server computer and also hosts one or more other hosts, who may use the hosting resources through the first host. The method enables one host to be included into another host. The method enables received content at the hosting infrastructure to be hosted by two or more hosts.

Abstract: A user of an interactive medium may select advertising for display on the user's avatar, property, or other user-associated environment. The invention presents one or more advertisements to the user and allows the user to select at least one advertisement to display. The user may also choose a location for displaying the selected advertisement. The invention presents the selected advertisement to other users of the interactive medium. The invention tracks these presentations or displays and rewards the original user based on the presentation. The tracking data may also be used to bill the advertiser or optimize the process of selecting and displaying advertisements.

Abstract: A user behavior analysis (UBA) method, and a related device and system are provided. The method is applied to a UBA system including at least one UBA cloud server. The method includes: receiving, by a UBA cloud server, a network content identifier reported by a first UBA subnode, where the network content identifier cannot be identified by the first UBA subnode; acquiring network content corresponding to the network content identifier; extracting a keyword from the network content; updating a behavior knowledge base by using the extracted keyword; and delivering, by the UBA cloud server, the updated behavior knowledge base or updated content of the behavior knowledge base to a UBA subnode set, where the UBA subnode set at least includes the first UBA subnode and a second UBA subnode. The UBA cloud server and the UBA subnodes are associated with a telecommunication network.

Advertising targeting criteria to target at least one person to receive a respective advertisement for the promotion is submitted to a computing device associated with a data management platform. Viewer information associated with at least one person targeted to receive the respective advertisement is received and processed to assess a value of the at least one person. Thereafter, a bid value that is representative of the assessed value and associated with presenting the respective advertisement is transmitted to a computing device associated with an advertisement exchange. An acceptance of the promotion is received, and the promotion information is processed to associate the promotion with the transaction account.

Abstract: Methods, computer systems, and computer storage media are provided for evaluating information retrieval (IR) such as search query results (including advertisements) by a machine learning scorer. In an embodiment, a set of features is derived from a query and a machine learning algorithm is applied to construct a linear model of (query, ads) for scoring by maximizing a relevance metric. In an embodiment, the machine learned scorer is adapted for use with WAND algorithm based ad selection.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for conversion timing inference. A conversion timing model is model is configured to predict a likelihood of conversion based on an entity's elapsed time since a qualified entry event. The conversion timing model is constructed based on a distribution of the conversion timespans of converters. Each conversion timespan describes a length of time between a qualified entry event and a conversion event for a converted entity. A notification of an opportunity to expose a candidate entity to networked content is received and the likelihood of conversion for the candidate entity is determined by: determining an elapsed time since a qualified entry event for the candidate entity and applying the conversion timing model to the elapsed time. A response to the notification based on the likelihood of conversion for the candidate entity is prepared. Timely responses may include the selection of customized content, customized advertising content or bid values.

Abstract: A social networking system user interacts with a terminal associated with a brand, such as kiosk included in a retail location associated with the brand. The terminal provides authorization information to a user device that identifies the terminal and the brand associated with the terminal. Information identifying the user and the authorization information is communicated to the social networking system, which retrieves interactions between the user and objects associated with the brand in the social networking system. The retrieved interactions are communicated to the terminal, which generates content describing the user's interactions with the objects and presents the generated content to the user. A description of the user interaction and/or of the generated content may be communicated to the social networking system for distribution to additional users.

Abstract: Provided is a process of obtaining a plurality of location data sets from different providers of user geolocation history, each location data set including a plurality of user-activity records, each user-activity records being associated with a user identifier and including geolocations of the corresponding user and times that the corresponding user was at the geolocations, the different providers having different user identifiers for a given corresponding user; matching, by one or more processors, the user identifiers between the location data sets based on geolocations of the corresponding user and times that the corresponding user was at the geolocations; and storing the matched user identifiers in association with one another in corresponding user profiles.

Abstract: Visitors that abandon electronic or computer-generated forms before completing and submitting the form are lost to business entities. Data obtained from abandoned electronic or computer-generated forms is used to identify these lost visitors. Sometimes a unique script embedded on the webpages scrapes the data from the forms. The obtained data is further utilized to market or remarket to the lost consumers by sending personalized messages via a preferred communication medium.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide multi-tenant billing systems and methods whereby data network usage fees that are associated with delivering select content of different content providers over a data network are passed to the content provider that originates or is the source for that select content instead of the end users that request and receive the select content. A deep packet inspection server or a billing server may be configured with a list of identifiers to distinguish between the network usage that is related to the delivery of the designated free content from the network usage that is not related to the delivery of the designated free content. The network usage can be distinguished by filtering or processing usage logs that track the network usage using the configured list of identifiers. Such filtering or processing can be done in real-time or in a delayed manner in a standalone or integrated system.

Abstract: Provided are device, method, and medium for generating an audio fingerprint and retrieving audio data. The device for generating an audio fingerprint includes: a coefficient extracting section partially decoding audio data in a compression area and extracting MDCT (Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) coefficients; a coefficient selecting section selecting an MDCT coefficient robust to noises from the extracted MDCT coefficients; a modulation spectrum generating section transforming the selected MDCT coefficient by the use of a Fourier transform method and generating a modulation spectrum; and a bit conversion section quantizing the generated modulation spectrum and generating an audio fingerprint. As a result, it is possible to accurately and rapidly retrieve the audio data recorded in a variety of environments. Since elements based on MP3 are used, it is possible to apply to MP3 applications in various manners.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting content to a client via a communication network are provided. According to one embodiment, an insertion server running within a firewall device of a network observes a content request of an application protocol by monitoring or proxying transport communication protocol connections established through the firewall device. The content request is (i) originated by a client device coupled to the network, (ii) directed to a destination device coupled to the network and (iii) associated with one of the multiple transport communication protocol connections. Responsive to observing the content request, the insertion server determines whether one or more conditions are satisfied. If so, the content request is negated by causing a canceling message of the transport communication protocol to be sent to the destination device and unsolicited content is selected and delivered to the client device via the application protocol.

An access rule defines which API server on the online commerce site a specific third party application may access when using a specific API function call. In this way, the operator of the online commerce site may prioritize server access per service level agreements based on a specific third party application and API function call.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for collecting item preferences of users at a centralized location and propagating these item preferences to users and merchants in an intelligent manner. In some instances, the centralized location is a payment service that functions to both authorize payment instruments of users for costs of transactions conducted at the merchant, and collect and propagate the item preferences to the merchants and the users.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for analyzing received item information for a number of items in order to determine whether each item is already included in an electronic catalog. The item information for each item may be analyzed in order to determine whether the received item information is a close match with any known item previously included in the electronic catalog. When close matches are found for one or more items, one or more modifications may be applied to at least a portion of the received item information in order to match stored item information for the corresponding close match. One or more rules associated with the determined modifications may then be generated and applied to receive item information for other items that fit certain determined criteria.

Abstract: Systems and methods can provide users with access to alternative content available from different providers without requiring the users to manually cross providers' platform boundaries. Some of the fields may be used to capture the description of the item, while other fields may be used to identify the other item and a relationship type. Further, in response to a search for the item, the catalog service may return information about the item and, based on the cataloged relationship, information about the other item.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating reminders to shoppers to purchase products. Using a customer's current location, products stocked at that location are identified and compared to the customer's purchase history. Items regularly purchased by the customer found among the products stocked at the location are identified. Upon departing the location without adding the product to an electronic shopping cart an alert may be generated to remind the customer to purchase the product. In some embodiment, an alert is generate for a product found in the purchase history if an elapsed time since purchase of the product exceeds an expiration period or purchase period for that product. The methods disclosed herein may be used in the context of a self-checkout using an electronic shopping cart and navigational aids to facilitate retrieval of items on a shopping list.

In one implementation, a method identifies a purchase request that includes a first item to purchase from a first merchant and a second item to purchase from a second merchant. A first virtual machine is invoked and executes an instance of a browser application to purchase the first item from the first merchant. A second virtual machine is invoked and executes another instance of the browser application to purchase the second item from the second merchant. The method receives a first purchase confirmation from the first merchant and receives a second purchase confirmation from the second merchant.

Abstract: Various embodiments enable a media playback device to present a user with the option to add items referenced in a media object, such as a movie, ebook, song, game, or application, to a wishlist for later purchase or sharing. An example system performs content analysis of the media object to determine which items are referenced in the media object and where they are located within the media object. Further, the system can query an electronic marketplace for more information about which specific types, sizes, colors, or other variations of the item are available, as well as information such as price, shipping cost, shipping time, and so forth. In a video media object, for example, the system can present a custom miniature storefront for various scenes or frames in the video that represents items present or referred to in the scenes or frames.

One of the disclosed embodiments is a method for operating a transactive thermostatic controller configured to submit bids to a market-based resource allocation system. According to the exemplary method, a first bid curve is determined, the first bid curve indicating a first set of bid prices for corresponding temperatures and being associated with a cooling mode of operation for a heating and cooling system. A second bid curve is also determined, the second bid curve indicating a second set of bid prices for corresponding temperatures and being associated with a heating mode of operation for a heating and cooling system. In this embodiment, the first bid curve, the second bid curve, or both the first bid curve and the second bid curve are modified to prevent overlap of any portion of the first bid curve and the second bid curve.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a data analysis system that may automatically generate memory-efficient clustered data structures, automatically analyze those clustered data structures, automatically tag and group those clustered data structures, and provide results of the automated analysis and grouping in an optimized way to an analyst. The automated analysis of the clustered data structures (also referred to herein as data clusters) may include an automated application of various criteria or rules so as to generate a tiled display of the groups of related data clusters such that the analyst may quickly and efficiently evaluate the groups of data clusters. In particular, the groups of data clusters may be dynamically re-grouped and/or filtered in an interactive user interface so as to enable an analyst to quickly navigate among information associated with various groups of data clusters and efficiently evaluate those data clusters in the context of, for example, a fraud investigation.

The transaction may be one according to a variety of scenarios, and the user may be an appropriate party to the transaction. The user may employ various devices to contact the server and seek to complete the transaction.

Abstract: An online system uses, in various embodiments of the invention, credit report information, loan affordability screening and credit approval and management functionality to facilitate the purchase and finance of products online. The online system may include both sellers of products and lenders that offer financing to buyers seeking to purchase the products. The system may automatically obtain a buyer's credit report information and use that information to determine if the buyer is pre-approved, for example, to obtain financing for a particular product or products. The system also enables use of buyer credit information to identify only those of a seller's products for which the buyer is pre-approved, for example, to finance using one or more loans. The system then enables selection of an identified product or products for purchase, and selection of a loan, for example, for financing of the selected product or products.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for splitting a set of vertices into a plurality of batches for processing. The method includes receiving one or more primitives each containing an associated set of vertices.
