Methods and systems for determining information relating to the operation of traffic control signals
Patent number: 9589463Abstract: A method of obtaining data relating to the timing of a transition between phases of a traffic control signal. The method involves obtaining live probe data relating to the travel of vehicles in the region of the traffic control signal, and using the data to determine times at which a given transition of the signal has occurred. This is carried out by consideration of the distance from the traffic signal at which a vehicle waits when stopped at the signal, and a time of passing the signal, as determined using the probe data. Different transition time pairs are analyzed to obtain time differences between the transition times. A cycle time which best fits the time difference data is determined, and used with the transition time data to predict future transition times of the traffic control signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2012Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: TomTom Development Germany GmbHInventors: Nikolaus Witte, Rene Beier -
Patent number: 9589464Abstract: A method is provided for alerting a driver of a vehicle of an unsafe exterior lighting status. The method includes receiving, at a first vehicle, information sufficient to detect a presence of a second vehicle. Once a vehicle is detected, the method continues to identify a direction of travel of the second vehicle with respect to the first vehicle. The method includes measuring a level of ambient light, and determining the level of ambient light is below a threshold level. The method further identifies any presence of functioning exterior lighting of the second vehicle by detecting a light color and light intensity. When an unsafe exterior lighting status is determined, the method includes alerting a driver of the second vehicle using a vehicle-to-vehicle communication signal. The signal includes a notification suggesting usage of at least one of headlights, parking lights, and hazard lights.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2015Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.Inventors: Christopher L. Patent number: 9589508Abstract: A pixel driving circuit includes a signal loading component, a storage capacitor, a compensation component, a mirror component, and a drive transistor. In a data transmission stage, the signal loading component transmits a received image data signal to the gate of a drive transistor, which is stored in a storage capacitor; and in a threshold voltage compensation stage, the compensation component connects the gate of the drive transistor to the source of the drive transistor so as to generate a drive signal dependent upon the threshold voltage of the drive transistor from the signal stored in the storage capacitor and to drive an organic light emitting diode to emit light, thus eliminating an influence of the threshold voltage of the drive transistor on the current through the organic light emitting diode and preventing the brightness of the organic light emitting diode from varying over its operating period of time.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2016Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: WUHAN TIANMA MICRO-ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Sijie Yang, Chao Dai, Tong Wu
