Publication number: 20170065452Abstract: The invention relates to devices and methods for reforming tissue surrounding the airway of a subject suffering from obstructive sleep apnea so as to open the airway and alleviate the occurrence of apneic events. Devices comprise a combination of resiliently deformable material and bioerodible material. The deformable portion of the device has a preferred shape that corresponds to the desired final shape of the device once placed in an airway. In making a transplant-ready device, however, the deformable portion is placed into a deformed shape and constrained in that shape by the bioerodible material. After implantation, the device gradually assumes the preferred shape as the constraining bioerodible material erodes. As the device gradually reforms toward the preferred shape, it reforms the tissue into the therapeutically desirable configuration. The gradual nature of the shape change generally stabilizes the device in the tissue, and supports tissue reforming into a stable configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventor: Edward M. Publication number: 20170065490Abstract: A support system for a baby bottle has a support body having a generally cylindrical portion. A channel is defined within the support body. A slot is defined between slot edges of the support body extending between a first end portion and a second end portion. First and second handle portions are coupled to the support body. The first and second handle portions are coupled to the support body at an angle less than about 120 degrees apart from each other about a surface of the support body. The support body is sized and configured to support a baby bottle positioned within the channel defined within the support body. In some embodiments, the first and second handle portions have handle grip portions that are coupled to the support body at an angle between about 5 degrees and about 30 degrees relative to a surface of the support body.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventor: Harley Hausman

Publication number: 20170065491Abstract: A feeding tube assembly comprising a feeding tube body and an optical system. The feeding tube body includes an administration lumen and an optical lumen. The optical lumen is isolated relative to the administration lumen, with the distal end opening corresponding to the distal opening of the administration lumen. The optical system includes an optical element and an end dispersion element. The optical element is positioned within the optical lumen and the first end of the optical element is attachable to a fiber optic line. The end dispersion element is positioned at the second end of the optical element and is structurally configured to disperse light transmitted through the optical element.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2015Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventors: Kathryn A. Publication number: 20170065492Abstract: An enteral nutritional supplement tube includes: a tube body; and a plurality of grasping sections. The tube body has a flexibility and is elongated. The grasping sections are disposed at a region of an outer peripheral surface of the tube body, the region being in a range from a distal end portion of the tube body to an intermediate region of the tube body in such a manner that the grasping sections are spaced apart from each other, the plurality of grasping sections being configured to be grasped.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventor: Yuzo BABA

Publication number: 20170065493Abstract: The invention relates to a feeding tube, comprising a shaft (2) which adjoins a tube head (1) and has at least two channels (3, 4), namely a food channel (3) and a fluid channel (4), said shaft carrying at its end a balloon (5) which is connected to the fluid channel (4) and is penetrated by the food channel (3), wherein the tube head (1) comprises supply connections (6, 7) for the channels (3, 4). with the supply connections being fitted with valves (8, 9). In order to provide advantageous constructive conditions, it is proposed that the tube head (1), which forms a tube part that is separate from the shaft (2) forms a plug-in coupling for the shaft (2), which shaft can be cut to length, for connecting the channels (3, 4) to the associated supply connections (6, 7).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2014Publication date: March 9, 2017Applicant: AMBIENTE Handels-GmbHInventor: Verena SCHWARZ

Publication number: 20170065494Abstract: An oral medication delivery system by which to deliver a medication to a user over time, especially a baby or a young child. The medication delivery system includes the combination of a solid dose of oral medication (e.g., a tablet) and a pacifier. The pacifier includes a nipple having a hollow interior within which the oral medication is located and a plurality of perforations formed therein through which the medication is dispensed when the nipple is placed in the mouth of the user to dissolve the medication and the user applies a sucking force to the nipple. The pacifier has a proximal end at which the nipple is located and an opposite distal end that is detachably connected to and separated from the proximal end so that a new dose of oral medication can be located within the nipple to replace a dose which has dissolved in the user's mouth.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2015Publication date: March 9, 2017Inventor: Candice S.
