Abstract: A first station is configured to perform a method and system to transmit frames to a second station where the first station is associated with a first basic service set (BSS) and the method manages interference of the transmission amongst overlapping basic service sets (OBSSs). The first station detects a received frame on a wireless medium. The first station determines whether the received frame is from a second station, which is associated with a second BSS. The first station determines a received signal strength of the received frame. The first station determines that the received signal strength is below a first OBSS preamble detection level, where the first OBSS preamble detection level is associated with a first transmission power. The first station then sets the first transmission power as a maximum transmission power used by the first station for all frame transmissions during a time period.

A change in the activation status of a secondary cell can be determined where after interference information to be reported is determined in response to the determined change. The determined interference information is compared to interference information reported previously for a similar change, and a decision is made based thereon whether to send the determined interference information. In a network entity interference information received from at least one device is stored. The stored interference information is used in the control when it is determined that no interference information is received subsequent to a new change in the activation status of the secondary cell.

Abstract: Smart channel selection for autonomous initiators of peer-to-peer groups is disclosed. A device acting as an initiator of a peer-to-peer group may configure the group h selecting a channel for the peer-to-peer group from determining the best channel available for potential group member devices to also connect to a network having a coverage area in which the initiator device operates. Group member devices operating, or potentially operating, on the peer-to-peer connection will then select the same best channel if they connect to the network and use the same channel for both the peer-to-peer and network connections. Group member devices will then not be required to operate in a multi-channel mode. In embodiments, the best channel may be selected by the initiator, for example, by determining that the channel has the highest signal strength or the fastest data rate of channels as measured at the group initiator, or by other suitable criteria.

Abstract: A method for channel reservation and communication using carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) with directional antennas in a wireless network. A source station (STA) may transmit a directional request to send (RTS) frame to a destination station before a data transmission. Upon receipt of the RTS frame, the destination STA may transmit a transmit network allocation vector (TNAV) frame instructing receiving stations not to perform transmissions toward the destination STA for a predefined period of time, which may include a channel quality measurement (CQM) period. The destination STA may transmit a directional clear-to-send (CTS) frame when channel quality estimated during the CQM meets a criterion. The method comprises the steps of receiving, in a scheduling message, an indication that dynamically scheduled transmission will take place; if a semi persistent resource has occurred for the same HARQ process since a previously received indication for dynamically scheduled transmission, then considering the NDI flag to be toggled regardless of the value of the NDI flag. Abstract: A microwave heating apparatus and a method for heating/browning a piece of food by means of microwaves are provided. The microwave heating apparatus comprises a cavity arranged to receive, in a substantially horizontal browning region, a piece of food to be browned. The microwave heating apparatus further comprises a microwave source for generating microwaves and a rotatable antenna arranged at the cavity bottom for supplying the generated microwaves. The antenna is configured to produce at least one radiating lobe pointing towards the browning region such that the intersection between the radiating lobe and the browning region forms a hot spot, thereby forming a ring-shaped heating pattern in the browning region under rotation of the antenna. The present invention is advantageous in that a microwave heating apparatus with an improved crisp function is provided.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load is operable to conduct enough current through a thyristor of a connected dimmer switch to exceed rated latching and holding currents of the thyristor. The load control device comprises a controllable-load circuit operable to conduct a controllable-load current through the thyristor of the dimmer switch. The load control device disables the controllable-load circuit when the phase-control voltage received from the dimmer switch is a reverse phase-control waveform. When the phase-control voltage received from the dimmer switch is a forward phase-control waveform, the load control device is operable to decrease the magnitude of the controllable-load current so as to conduct only enough current as is required in order to exceed rated latching and holding currents of the thyristor.

Abstract: A light source device includes a semiconductor light source, a light source control section, an optical sensor, a sensor control section, and an intensity adjusting section. The light source control section controls a light quantity per field of light to be emitted from the semiconductor light source, by pulse width modulation. The optical sensor receives the light emitted from the semiconductor light source to acquire a quantity of the received light. The sensor control section controls the optical sensor to detect the light in an exposure period shorter than a minimum pulse width in the pulse width modulation, thereby acquiring the quantity of the received light which is acquired by the optical sensor. The intensity adjusting section adjusts emission intensity of the semiconductor light source on the basis of the quantity of the received light.
