Abstract: Equipment and a method for on-site and ex-situ modulation of microbial consortia useful in liquid and semi-solid effluents or solid waste treatment systems, for removing and/or reusing undesirable organic or inorganic loads. The equipment has of a main cultivation tank or a liquid body provided with an ex-situ subsystem for modulating microbial consortia for subsequent or concomitant introduction into the main cultivation tank or reactor or into the liquid body. The process is implemented in a culture equipment with controlled conditions for introducing the microorganism-enriched material into the effluent or solid waste to be treated, in the form of pre-cultivation and/or co-cultivation. The ex-situ subsystem of the invention has a device for forming gas/air bubbles in a liquid suitable for applying a shearing force to the microorganisms present in the subsystem, and also useful for modulating the microbial consortia in a main cultivation tank or a liquid body.

Abstract: The invention discloses an unpowered water purification system for a riverfront landscape constructed wetland, comprising a riparian wetland constructed along a lake-land ecotone of a river, lake-pond. The riparian wetland comprises a plurality of alternatively arranged wetland islands and watercourses formed between them. The bottom surface of the riparian wetland is lower than the normal water level of the river, lake-pond, and the upper surface of the wetlands is flush with the normal water level of the river, lake-pond. Plants are planted on the wetlands. A revetment is constructed between the riparian wetland and the river, lake-pond, and its upper surface is between the bottom surface of the riparian wetland and the upper surface of the wetlands. The invention achieves good purification and landscape effects. The purification system has some advantages such as good landscape effects, simple management without energy and power consumption, and thus is durable and stable.

Abstract: A glass member includes a glass plate, on a first surface of which a functional layer is formed. A Martens hardness measured from a side of the functional layer of the glass member is 1100 N/mm2 or more. The functional layer includes silica. A cut level difference R?c obtained from a roughness curve for a surface of the functional layer is 2% or more. The cut level difference R?c is obtained by subtracting a load length ratio for a cut level of 10%, Rmr(10), from the load length ratio for the cut level of 50%, Rmr(50). The load length ratio for the cut level c is obtained by formula Rmr ? ( c ) = 1 L ? ? i = 1 n ? ? M ? ( c ) i × 100 where M(c)i is a cut length of an i-th cut portion. By cutting the roughness curve at the cut level c within a region having a length L, n cut portions are obtained.

The recovered gas is maintained at a temperature that enhances a solvent's ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the recovered gas. While the main absorber uses the solvent for absorbing most of the carbon dioxide from the recovered gas, the flash system removes much of the carbon dioxide from the solvent exiting the main absorber. In some examples, at least portion of the flash system operates at subatmospheric pressure to create a vacuum that draws in a generally inert stripper gas (e.g., air, nitrogen, etc.) at atmospheric pressure. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a recycling method for producing dimethyl carbonate. The process is unique in that it produces a by-product that can be re-used in the process as a raw material for repeating the process. For example, when the process is directed to synthesizing dimethyl carbonate, glycerol is used as a starting material. Glycerol is also a by-product produced during formation of dimethyl carbonate, and therefore it can be re-used as starting material to generate more dimethyl carbonate.
