Abstract: Physiologic sensors and methods of application are described. These sensors function by detecting recently discovered variations in the spectral optical density at two or more wavelengths of light diffused through the skin. These variations in spectral optical density have been found to consistently and uniquely relate to changes in the availability of oxygen in the skin tissue, relative to the skin tissue's current need for oxygen, which we have termed Physiology Index (PI). Current use of blood gas analysis and pulse oximetry provides physiologic insight only to blood oxygen content and cannot detect the status of energy conversion metabolism at the tissue level. By contrast, the PI signal uniquely portrays when the skin tissue is receiving ‘less than enough oxygen,’ ‘just the right amount of oxygen,’ or ‘more than enough oxygen’ to enable aerobic energy conversion metabolism.

Abstract: An information processing system, computer readable storage medium, and methods for analyzing the airflow related health of a person. A method includes obtaining an audio sample of a person's verbal communication, obtaining geographic information of the person, querying a remote server based on the geographic information, and obtaining additional information from the remote server, the additional information being related to the geographic information, and extracting contours of amplitude change from the at least one audio sample over a period of time, the contours of amplitude change corresponding to changes in an airflow profile of the person. The method further includes correlating the contours of amplitude change with periodic episodes typical of airflow related health problems, and determining, based at least on the additional information, whether the contours of amplitude change result from at least one local environmental factor related to the geographic information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring biologically and behaviorally based responses to social media, locations, or experiences and providing instant and continuous feedback in response thereto are disclosed. An example system includes a first sensor to determine an emotional response of a user exposed to a social media application, a second sensor to determine a current activity of the user, and a third sensor to determine an environment of the user. The example system also establishes a priority schedule based on the emotional response, the current activity, and the environment. The system also correlates, based on the priority schedule, an advertisement with at least one of the emotional response, activity, or the environment. In addition, the example system presents the advertisement based on the priority schedule and the correlation of the advertisement with the at least one of the activity, the environment, or the emotional response.

Abstract: A sensing bone fixing element includes a fixing portion, a fastening portion, a capacitor structure, and a coil. The fastening portion is fixed to the fixing portion and suitable for being fastened to a bone. The fastening portion passes through the capacitor structure which has a capacitance value and includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and an elastic dielectric layer. The first conductive layer leans against the fixing portion, the second conductive layer leans against the bone, and the elastic dielectric layer is located between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The coil has an inductance value, and two ends of the coil are respectively connected to the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The coil receives a detection radio frequency (RF) signal and generates a responding RF signal according to variations in the capacitance value and the inductance value.

Abstract: A method of determining a degree of hydration of a sample, by generating a radio frequency signal with a frequency of no less than about two megahertz. The radio frequency signal is directed into the sample with an antenna that does not contact the surface of the sample. A reflected radio frequency signal is received from the sample and compared to the reflected radio frequency signal. Differences between the directed radio frequency signal and the reflected radio frequency signal are correlated to a degree of hydration of the sample.
