Abstract: Described is system and method for gauging public interest in a topic using network analysis of online discussions. A message from an online discussion related to a specific topic is received as input. The message is analyzed for information related to the message, and a graph comprised of nodes is generated where each node represents information related to the message, such as user name, location, hyperlinks, and annotations. The graph is updated over time as additional messages from the online discussion are received. Additional nodes are generated and linked with at least one of the existing nodes in the graph to form at least one connected component. A normalized diameter of the largest connected component in the graph is determined, and a level of collective focus in the online discussion related to the topic based on the normalized diameter is output to a user.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus are provided for distributing a content item toward target recipients solely via first degree connections (e.g., in a professional network, in a social network). For a selected content item and identified target recipients of the item, when a user initiates a message to forward or otherwise convey the content item, one or more schemes are applied to select and automatically populate the message with suitable addressees. In one scheme, values are computed for each neighbor of the sender, to indicate the value of delivering the item to that neighbor; the message is automatically addressed to the highest-value neighbors. In another scheme, user communities that encompass the target recipients are identified and the message is automatically addressed to neighbors that are best able to disseminate the item throughout a community. In another scheme a minimal set of neighbors having connections to all target recipients is identified.

Next, and starting with the highest-ranked content item, an optimal size is determined for each of the templates such that the content-item-per-pixel is maximized within each template. After resizing the templates to the optimal size, the content items are presented on the search engine results page.

Abstract: Numerical simulation techniques of physical behaviors of a string drawn out of a yarn feeder in a weaving/braiding machine are disclosed. A FEA model, representing a string having a source end at yarn feeder and a braiding end towards braiding/weaving operations, contains at least one truss element with a leading element directly connected to the source end at which pull-out force of the yarn feeder is predefined. Maximum and minimum lengths of a truss element are predefined for facilitating local remeshing. Simulated physical behaviors of the string are obtained by performing a time-marching simulation using the FEA model with the FEA application module having local remeshing capability. Simulated physical behaviors include axial forces in each truss element of the FEA model and the string's deformed geometry. Local remeshing is used for updating the computerized model by creating new leading element that satisfies consistent realistic condition, when local remeshing becomes necessary.

Circuit elements of the possible types are selected from the different contexts, and configuration data is generated for implementation of respective ring oscillator circuits that include the selected circuit elements. The programmable IC is configured with the configuration data, and the programmable IC as configured with the respective ring oscillator circuits is operated. Respective delay values of the selected circuit elements are determined from output of the ring oscillator circuits. The delay values are stored in association with identifiers of the selected circuit elements in a memory arrangement.

Abstract: A method of forecasting a resource load for consumption at a site, e.g., an electrical load of a site. The method includes receiving historical load data and historical ambient condition data that are time series data pertaining to a site and generating additional data from the received data. The method includes building a best sub-model for each of multiple forecast intervals. The building includes clustering in parallel training portions of the historical load data and the additional data, training possible sub-models using the clustered training portions, verifying forecasted loads output from the possible sub-models against verification portions of the historical load data and the additional data, and determining a first subset of parameters for the best sub-model based upon accuracy of the forecasted loads. The method includes forecasting a resource load at the site for each of the forecast intervals using an ensemble of the best sub-models.

Abstract: A method for generating electric load models that includes receiving a plurality of measurements representative of input provided by a power source to electric loads is provided. The method includes generating a plurality of combination of model loads and assigning a contribution factor to each model load in each combination. The method further includes computing a match index for each combination for each measurement. The match index is computed by comparing a predicted output of each combination with an actual output generated by the electric loads for each input represented by each measurement. Furthermore, the method includes computing a first likelihood index for each combination based on the match index for each combination for the plurality of measurements. The method also includes computing a second likelihood index for each contribution factor in each combination based on the match index for each combination.

Abstract: A system, method and/or computer program for optimizing a circuit design. In some embodiments, a target block with an external boundary and external boundary pins is identified in an integrated circuit design. An area outside the target block is converted into a first macro, wherein the first macro has a physical library and a timing library and wherein the physical library has an internal boundary that corresponds to the external boundary of the target block and wherein the physical library has internal boundary pins that correspond to the external boundary pins of the target block. The target block is represented as a single block netlist and the block netlist is optimized with respect to the first macro. The steps may be repeated with respect to a master and clone(s) on the same integrated circuit enabling a single block netlist to be optimized for multiple instances of the same design IP.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for improving integrated circuit (IC) chip reliability. IC chips are manufactured and sorted into groups corresponding to process windows within a process distribution for the design. Group fail rates are set for each group based on failure mechanism fail rates, which are set for multiple failure mechanisms. An overall fail rate is determined for the full process distribution based on the group fail rates. First contribution amounts of the groups to the overall fail rate and second contribution amounts of the failure mechanisms to the group fail rate of each group are determined. Based on an analysis of the contribution amounts, at least one specific failure mechanism is selected and targeted for improvement (i.e., changes directed to the specific failure mechanism(s) are proposed and implemented). Optionally, proposed change(s) are only implemented if they will be sufficient to meet a reliability requirement and/or will not be cost-prohibitive.

The leakage model covers all device geometries with wide temperature and voltage ranges and, without the need for stacking factor calculations nor spread sheet based IDDQ calculations. The leakage model for IDDQ calculation incorporates further parasitic and proximity effects. The leakage model implements leakage calculations at different levels of testing, e.g., from a single device to a full chip design, and are integrated within one single model.
