Systems and Methods for Detecting Pump-Off Conditions and Controlling a Motor to Prevent Fluid Pound
Publication number: 20170145995Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the existence of a pump-off condition in an ESP system and controlling the motor to prevent fluid pound that would otherwise result from the pump-off condition. The current drawn by the ESP motor during a power stroke is monitored and the instantaneous force generated by the motor is determined from the instantaneous current. Pump-off conditions may be indicated by sudden, large decreases in the generated force, smaller decreases in force that occur over a longer period, or forces below those seen during a dwell time. In response to detecting a pump-off condition, the motor may be stepped through the rest of the stroke, temporarily halted and re-initialized, thereby preventing potentially damaging fluid pound that would otherwise result from the pump-off condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2016Publication date: May 25, 2017Applicant: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Saylee P. The handle is pivotally connected to the fixture and operable to be pivotally moved between a first position and a second position of the fixture. When the handle is operated to move to the first position, the fixture is pushed to approach to the first connector, so as to so as make the second connector connect to the first connector in mechanical and electrical. When the handle is operated to move to the second position, the fixture is pulled out by the handle, so as to make the second connector disconnected to the first connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2016Publication date: May 25, 2017Inventors: Hui ZHU, Jia-Bin WANG

Publication number: 20170146030Abstract: A centrifugal blood pump prevents a shaft member from oscillating due to expansion of a pump housing resulting from pressurization of the blood. The centrifugal blood pump is manufactured by assembling a bottom member 21 and a lid member 22, and compressing them in a direction in which the bottom member 21 and the lid member 22 approach each other by a deformation amount along their outer circumferential walls. The lid member and the bottom member are joined while in the compressed state in order to create a preloading force between the shaft member and bearings to resist the expansion due to pressurization of the blood during use.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2017Publication date: May 25, 2017Inventor: Shinpei Furukawa
